H1N1 Priorities

The federal government has told us we are woefully short in providing the H1N1 vaccine. A year ago we were told, "no problem". Today it was announced that the Guantanamo detainees(terrorists) would be vaccinated. Priotities?

Stimulus Job (Non)Creation

Posting its results late this afternoon at Recovery.gov, the White House claimed 640,329 jobs have been created or saved because of the $159 billion in stimulus funds allocated as of Sept. 30. Officials acknowledged the numbers were not exact, saying that states and localities that reported the numbers have made mistakes. (Snip) Assuming their number is right -- 160 billion divided by 1 million. Does that mean the stimulus costs taxpayers $160,000 per job?
George W. Bush expanded the national debt during his administration by $1.4 trillion. That's obscene! Obama, in the first nine months of his administration has done the exact same thing so I guess their equal when it comes to flagrant, off the charts spending. And I didn't add in $1.050 trillion for health care. Duh!

You'll Want To Cry---Or Throw Up---Or Both

From Ace of Spades HQ this piece speaks about a tragic rape in Richmond, Virginia. It tells us much about our youth, morals or lack thereof and the slippery slope we've been sliding for a number of years.

"This story says they're charged, but a later story say they were arraigned today.
Three minors — 15, 16 and 17 — are each charged with felony rape with a foreign object. The charges all carry an enhancement that they acted in concert, which could make them eligible for life in prison if found true, Deputy District Attorney Dara Cashman said.
The 16-year-old also has been charged with robbery. Cashman charged a fourth suspect, 19-year-old Manuel Ortega, with robbery, assault causing great bodily injury, rape in concert and an enhancement that also makes him eligible for life in prison.
The youths were charged as adults "because this crime speaks to a high degree of callousness and viciousness," said Contra Costa Deputy District Attorney Dan Cabral, head of the office's juvenile division
Cashman and Richmond police detectives said Wednesday that they expect to make more arrests in the case. A fifth suspect arrested Tuesday night, 21-year-old Salvador Rodriguez, remains in custody but has not been charged.
Here's a dumb opinion piece by, I guess, a local columnist:
They laughed. They snapped pictures. For two hours, they took turns beating and raping a drunk, defenseless girl. Fine Saturday night fun.
The details of the brutal gang rape outside the Richmond High School homecoming dance last weekend chill my soul. The 15-year-old was lured to a "party" by a "friend" only to find out she was to be the evening's entertainment. Dozens of people wandered by and thought it was funny.

I wonder what sort of twisted young people would get their kicks out of participating in such an attack. I wonder what kind of callous young people would stand by and watch, or see what was going on and hurry away, but never try to stop it or even call police. Surely they must have precious women in their lives. Mothers, sisters, grandmothers. Yet no one cared what happened to the victim, who had to be airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. How could young people be so cruel and inhuman?
One of the young women who called the cops as soon as they heard about the attack tried to offer an explanation: "They think it's cool," she told our reporter. "They weren't raised to respect girls."

They weren't raised to respect girls.

Is that it?

We do not, as a society, respect girls. We teach them from birth that sexy is cute, sexy is beautiful, sexy is the way to get attention. From baby shirts that say "Hot Chick" to preschool dance classes where little girls learn to bump and grind, there's no escaping it. By the time they're in middle school, girls know that sexy gets more attention from boys than brainy or athletic or tough.
And it goes on like that, eventually mentioning video games or something.
Look, I understand women's horror at this. I happen to share it. But, just to be accurate about this, one is underinclusive when one says these thugs did not "respect women."
They did not respect humans, period. They are animals lacking the most basic empathetic spark that typically restrains human beings from beating or raping each other brutally -- the empathy that makes such monstrous behavior difficult to even contemplate, let alone perform.

For two hours.

In front of an apparently entertained crowd.

On Twitter, Greg Pollowitz says "Death penalty for all of them, including the spectators." I agree. And I know there's no law to get to such just punishment, but then, as they say, no jury in the world would convict you.
The problem isn't that we're raising boys who don't respect girls. Or, rather, that is a problem too, but not really the problem here. Yes, they targeted her because, as a girl, she had what they wanted. But it's hard to imagine that a vulnerable, lone man who had something they wanted -- including simple humanity that they could shatter for their jollies (stuff like this is, as they say, also about dominance and pure cruelty rather than sex alone) -- would get better treatment from these vermin.
"Respecting women" is a lesson they need to learn. But that's kind of nuance they could only appreciate after a long lesson in Why it's a bad thing to prey upon human beings as if you're brutish jackals.
Actually, the hell with learning. Kill them in prison. And yeah, rape them in prison. With my blessing.
We have monsters in our society and no one much seems to care.
One local article notes that "interest in the case in cyberspace" is high.
In cyberspace? Um, why not in the leftwing media? Is this story somehow not interesting enough?
We know why. It's not that this story doesn't have national policy implications. The trouble for the leftwing media is that it obviously, incandescently does have national policy implications about which they wish to keep silent. As it's impolite.
Well, the crime rate among blacks and Latinos is viciously high. Lives are shattered, and snuffed out, every day because of this.
Can we perhaps get over our political correctness and treat this as a problem, maybe?
I don't know if spotlighting the problem would help. As I mentioned in my previous post*, the Kitty Genovese murder shocked the country out of complacency about crime, and cowardice in the face of crime.
But for that to happen, people have to know about it."

Clunker Update

According to Edmonds.com the White House's vaunted "Cash for Clunker" program cost each tax paying citizen $24,000. Edmonds is the leading automobile analyst in the US.

Another Maoist In The White House

Mao Tse Tung was the worst tyrant in human history, having brought about the death of 70,000,000 of his own subjects during peacetime. He was a totalitarian communist who reduced every soul in the most populous nation on earth to absolute slavery. This gives him a great deal of cachet among liberals. Obama's Communications Director Anita Dunn regards Mao as one of her "favorite political philosophers." She might not be alone. Here's Obama's Manufacturing Czar Ron Bloom:

Quoting Chairman Mao with admiration Bloom says, "Power comes from the barrel of a gun." So much for the consent of the governed.

I despise these people!

Where Are The Jobs?

Ahem! Barry O: Where are the jobs you promised? Why is unemployment pushing 10%? You promised gravy and candy canes but so far it's asparaus and broccoli.
I know your spokesmen are saying you've saved hundreds of thousands of jobs but how can you tell how many jobs are saved?
Oh Barry O, where are the jobs?

What If Bush Had Done That

From today's Politico they wonder what the country would think if former President Bush had:

A four-hour stop in New Orleans, on his way to a $3 million fundraiser.
Snubbing the Dalai Lama.
Signing off on a secret deal with drug makers.
Freezing out a TV network.
Doing more fundraisers than the last president. More golf, too.
President Barack Obama has done all of those things — and more.
What’s remarkable is what hasn’t happened. These episodes haven’t become metaphors for Obama’s personal and political character — or consuming controversies that sidetracked the rest of his agenda.
It’s a sign that the media’s echo chamber can be a funny thing, prone to the vagaries of news judgment, and an illustration that, in politics, context is everything.

Obama Ties Bush

President Barack Obama has only been in office for just over nine months, but he's already hit the links as much as President Bush did in over two years.
CBS' Mark Knoller — an unofficial documentarian and statistician of all things White House-related — wrote on his Twitter feed that, "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24.
Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months."
The truth of the matter is that Mr. Bush gave up golf while the Wars on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan were taking place. He felt it unseemly to have soldiers fighting and dying while he was enjoying himself on the course.

Nancy Nutjob

The Bush tax cuts will expire in 2010. Some of you, perhaps many of you, are clueless about this. One might ask, "what tax cuts"? Others would shout, "well, it's about time"! Here's the situation. Early on in the GWB administration Bush and the Republican congress felt it would be good for the economy to put some cash back into the pockets of the taxpayer. On January 1, 2010 the Great One and his minions are going to let the cuts go by the wayside. Pay attention please! If you have a family of four and make $50,000 your taxes will go up by approximately $2,500 per year. And what, pray tell, was the response of our Dame Speaker when questioned? "It's not a tax increase but the elimination of a tax decrease". Did you understand what jelly brain is saying? God help us all.

Health Care: Get Ready To Pay

Another article I borrowed from cirucci.blogspot.com. Read it and weep. I repeat what I had earlier written and it comes from P.J. O'Rourke, "If you think health care's expensive now, wait until it's free".

A new report from government economic experts concluded that the nation's medical costs will keep spiraling upward even faster than they are now under leading health reform legislation pending in the House.
The report found that the nation's health care tab, now at about $2.5 trillion annually, is projected to approach $4.7 trillion in 2019 without the legislation. With the legislation, national health care spending would be nearly $4.8 trillion in 2019.

Administration officials quickly rejected the report's findings, claiming that it is out of date due to changes when it is merged with other House legislation and a Senate bill.
But to us, it just sounds to us like "someone" isn't happy about hearing the truth....

Jesse Jackson

How is it that the renowned poverty pimp, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, is called 'Reverend' when he's never received a theological degree from an accredited university? Just thought I'd ask.

NFL Dividers

Just for fun, from my funny favorite blog, Ace of Spades,..."consider that Leonard Little scored a touchdown yesterday. What makes this notable is that Little plays for the St. Louis Rams, the team Rush Limbaugh is too divisive to be a part owner of. Little however is a long time member in good standing of the Rams and the NFL despite the fact that he killed a woman because he was driving drunk.

They don't call it the National Felons League for nothing"

Wacky Tabacky

This is the gospel truth. I have never in my life smoked marijuana. I am so unfamiliar with the weed that I had to look up the correct spelling. I don't even know any of my friends, except one, who has used it. Even if they did we don't talk about it. It's the same as saying "condoms" in a hush hush voice back in the sixties.
Everyone by now knows that Obama gave the go ahead to use Mary Jane in eleven states where it's ok'd for medical use. Call me nuts but I'm thinking there's going to be an up tick in faux illnesses in California, Michigan and a whole bunch of other states I can't remember. As with every other government mandated utterance law enforcement will be stretched to the limit covering a vast array of abuses. In the 1920's this country experienced what was called Prohibition of alcohol. For the youngsters in the audience alcohol consumption was verboten. Except, one could buy a bottle of booze with a doctors prescription. There was more illegal consumption of booze in the twenties than seen in the history of the country. Just consider this; without Prohibition the Kennedy's and mother Rose's dad wouldn't have made their millions as bootleggers. What we are about to witness is an increased trafficking of marijuana in the US. Libs are smart enough to know that incrementalism is the way to fly. It's also a prime source of tax revenue for the feds.
It's going to be interesting and sad at the same time looking ten years down the road. God Almighty, I'm glad I'm in my sixties and don't have to raise kids anymore. Fact is, it's not that big deal for the kids. A two minute phone call and they're set up. It's us old goats who will want to relive a lost youth by scoring a nickel bag. That is marijuana lingo, isn't it?

2009 Federal Deficit Terrifyingly Huge

From the really cool blog, Ace of Spades HQ:

The Obama administration said Friday the deficit for the fiscal year just ended was $1.4 trillion, the largest relative to the size of the economy since 1945, underscoring the challenge to shrink the fiscal gap even as the White House and Congress consider further steps to stimulate a slow recovery.
The final tally for fiscal 2009, which ended Sept. 30, was nearly $1 trillion greater than the $459 billion deficit for fiscal 2008. This year’s deficit translates to nearly 10 percent of the size of the economy, up from 3.2 percent of gross domestic product for last year’s deficit, according to a joint statement from the Treasury Department and the Office of Management and Budget
We are just so screwed it's not even funny.
Government spending last year jumped to $3.52 trillion, up 18.2 percent over 2008. The $700 billion financial bailout fund and increased spending and tax relief from the $787 billion economic stimulus program that Obama pushed through Congress in February drove the increase.
For September, a month when the government usually records surpluses, the deficit totaled $46.6 billion. That's a sharp contrast to the $45.7 billion surplus in September 2008, the last time the government's books were in the black.
In issuing the final budget figures, top administration officials said the president was determined to get control of the deficits in coming years.
"It was critical that we acted to bring the economy back from the brink earlier this year," White House budget director Peter Orszag said in a statement. "The president recognizes that we need to put the nation back on a fiscally sustainable path."
That's a little like resuscitating a guy who had a heart attack on the way to his execution. Yeah, he's alive but for how much longer?
When confronted with something this unsustainable there's only two things to be done.
1- Spend untold trillions more taking over the nation's health insurance system.

2- Blame Bush.

Who's Good For America?

In January of 1995 Time magazine had on their cover Rush Limbaugh. The heading read, "Is Rush Limbaugh Good For America"? You might not be surprised to know it was a hit job. Last month Times socialist counterpart, Newsweek, ran a cover story titled, "Is Glenn Beck Good For America"? Sort of creepy, isn't it. I was lying in bed last night when it hit me. Why are conservatives, Republicans, etc. the ones who are bad for this country? Granted, our media is controlled by Leftist, socialist, communist writer's and pundits. Still not convinced? The editor in Chief of Newsweek is Evan Thomas. When Obama was elected one of his first quoted statements was, "we're all Socialists now". It probably won't surprise you to know that his grandfather, Norman Thomas, was an avowed Socialist who ran for POTUS many number of times before his death in 1980. Credit the senior Thomas with the statement, "over time Liberals will get their agenda passed and before we know it we'll all be Socialists". But I digress!
I'm going to be semi-redundant so bear with me. Wouldn't it be interesting to read: Is Hillary Clinton good for America? Is Jesse Jackson good for America. How about Al Sharpton, ACORN, SEIU, Nancy Pelosi, Rahm Emanuel, John Podesta. Hey! Why not this. Is Bill Ayers or the Reverend Jeremiah Wright good for America?
It won't happen but I can always dream big.

Rush Limbaugh: Government Hit Job?

From The American Thinker for Friday October 16:
The plot thickens on the media’s character-lynching of Rush Limbaugh. Of the four stories run on ESPN.com about Limbaugh’s bid for the Rams (October 6, October 12, October 15, and another October 15) none of them mention that NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith served as counsel to Attorney General Eric Holder and was a member of Barack Obama’s transition team.
The October 12 article references Smith’s anti-Limbaugh email meant to garner opposition against the radio host’s bid. The report refers to Smith only as the executive director of the NFLPA. Despite the fact that Smith’s opposition was based on Limbaugh’s political commentary, the report failed to mention that Smith’s political connections (including those to whom he donated thousands of dollars) have a vested interest in Limbaugh’s discrediting.
The October 15 article (the last of four listed above) is decidedly negative toward Limbaugh, portraying him as paranoid about Obama’s involvement in the decision. The report states:
Limbaugh blamed Smith, executive director of the NFLPA and an "Obama-ite," along with Sharpton and Jackson, whom he referred to as "race hustlers," for Checketts' decision to drop him. He said his sacking was an example of the political clout wielded by President Barack Obama's administration.
There is no mention in the piece of Smith’s relationship with Holder or his work on the Obama transition.
It is not as if ESPN didn’t know of Smith’s history. The sports web site ran a report in July which stated:

in selecting Smith this year, the union chose Washington smarts over football experience. Smith, a Washington lawyer, served on the Obama transition team and also worked for Eric Holder before Holder became attorney general.
Smith’s gross conflict of interest and apparent political targeting of Obama’s top foe is a huge story. Unfortunately the media appears too blinded by their prejudice of Limbaugh to report on it.
To summarize, we know that a former Obama official and political ally--who was chosen by the NFLPA specifically for his political clout and connections to the highest rungs of power in government--directly attacked Limbaugh for the radio-talker’s political commentary.
Historically politicians have been prone to vindictive and petty behavior, but never in American history has someone had so much power to pummel his political opponents as President Obama. With control over banks, insurance companies, car companies, media (sports media included) and unions (like the NFL players union), Obama tentacles seem to penetrate into nearly every corner of the nation.

I Hate These Guys

From the Washington Post for 10/15
Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.

Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.

A New Generation Of Sports

College football is a fun time of year. I enjoy watching different offensive schemes along with a wide variety of defenses. I appreciate a good defensive game. Since I was a former offensive line coach, when watching a game on television or in person, I focus on the interior line play. My philosophy of the offense was simple. I wanted my offensive linemen to weigh eighty pounds more than the defense. I've noticed a big change in the attitudes of players. You know what I don't see anymore? When the camera hones in on a player who has just made a big time play he doesn't turn around and blurt out, "Hi Mom"! That's huge. The times they are a changin'

Whatever happened To

I wonder whatever happened to Samuel 'Sandy' Burger. Remember him? He was the former National Security Advisor to Clinton and the guy who stuffed some secret papers in his pants after pilfering them from the National Archives. He lost his ability to practice law for a couple of years(standard operating procedure for Clinton people) and was not allowed to work on campaings for 24 months, I think.
It just seems that the public has a right to know what he stole. After all, isn't that the line the media uses; right to know. Unless it's a cover-up. Nooooooo way!

Democrats: The Party Of Death

If one wants to understand the depth of hatred the Left has for the elderly read what former Clinton Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich has to say about health care, who pays and who suffers the consequences. It's from 2007, the YouTube video is all over the blogosphere and if you think Obama doesn't feel this way you're a lunatic.

"Thank you so much for coming this afternoon. I'm so glad to see you and I would like to be president. Let me tell you a few things on health care. Look, we have the only health care system in the world that is designed to avoid sick people. And that's true and what I'm going to do is that I am going try to reorganize it to be more amenable to treating sick people but that means you, particularly you young people, particularly you young healthy people...you're going to have to pay more.
(applause)

"Thank you. And by the way, we're going to have to, if you're very old, we're not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months. It's too expensive...so we're going to let you die."(more applause)
Robert Reich(toad)

Federal Government Demands Payola

I listen to Glenn Beck. On today's show he had as a guest Rep. Michele Bachman(R) from Minnesota. Ms. Bachman is a bulldog and she had a government corruption story for Beck and his listeners. This is what she has learned. The federal government in the 1990's, under Clinton, passed the Community Re-investment Act saying that banks must give loans to people who are poor credit risks. The government then made a threat to shut down banks if they refuse to make bad loans. One way banks could satisfy their partnership would be to forcibly give cash to ACORN. Ms. Bachman then listed a number of banks by name who were victims of this scam. This is more than unconstitutional. It's traitorous. God bless Michelle Bachman and God bless Glenn Beck.

Sleight Of Hand

Stuart Varney is a smart guy. He's a business expert for Fox News and has bumped around for awhile via his origins as an emigre' of England. He was talking today about how the country is going to be 'tricked' into providing health care for those who don't really need it nor want to pay for it. I'm thinking of those who are between the ages of 18-30. There are 20 million of these kids who purposely don't buy health insurance because they are, well, healthy. When government mandated health care goes into affect these folks will refuse it. They will gladly pay the fine imposed by the Feds, somewhere around $50.00 per month. If they should become deathly ill or need special health care services then they will sign up for "free health care". After the big cure, for them, it's back to where they were before. Pretty clever, huh? Insurance companies say that we, the regular Joe's, will pay around $2,000 more in higher fees plus those unseen taxes we don't yet know about. So, who do you believe; Nancy Pelosi Harry Reid and Obama or the insurance companies? For this answer it's not even close.

Confused Religious Guys

From the American Thinker:
A group of over 1,000 clergy and Obama supporters claims that "Scripture neither condemns nor prohibits abortion," leaving out inconvenient truths as reflected in such verses as "For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks toYou, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139: 13,14 NASV) or to the prophet Jeremiah: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you." (Jer. 1:5)
But that's from God's Word. It's not clear from which divinity the Ba'aler(pagans) draw their moral force. Perhaps it's The Force from Star Wars.

Is George Bush An Idiot?

I stole the ensuing post from Dan Cirucci but I'm sure he doesn't mind. Besides, it's one of those things that are sent around the internet on a daily basis. I'm sure I received then forwarded to like minded thinkers. It's food for thinking, though.----------------------------------------
If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
So tell us again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive?
Can't think of anything? Don't worry.
He's done all this in 9 months -- so you'll have three years and three months to come up with an answer.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside"

Today is Saturday, October 10, 2009 and I just received three computer photos from my buddy at beautiful Ten Mile Lake in northern Minnesota. Thank the Lord it's our summer home since the pictures showed three inches of snow with a temp high of 16 degrees for the day. My sister, an avowed lib lives in some community just north of Denver. The third game of the baseball play-offs between the Denver Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies was canceled for today, ta-dah, snow. I happened to mention global warming to her on the telephone today and her response was some type of whiny lib thing like, "just stop it"! I didnt' even mention Al Gore but I think that at times like this(cold and snow) all libs wuss out and babble incessently, I snagged the accompanying article from the Toronto Star. It's a goodie. Now, I'm by no means a scientist. Actually, I hate science because I have no apptitude for it. I was lousy in chemistry and every other high school subject that dealt with any kind of science. I even turned down a head basketball coaching position at a nice high school because of this. The administration wanted me to teach 9th grade science. Yuck! A 13 year old would have figured me out the second day so I moved on. But I do know this. We, man, experience cycles of temperature. I read, don't ya know. It's called history. I also know about sun spots and the impact they provide on changing temperatures. Maybe I do know some science.
CO2 is a basic of life so the more people we have the better off we are unless Obama turns us against each other. Maybe that's why he has so many kooks as czars who demand eugenics, abortion, etc. We'll happily kill each other off to save mankind. Read the article below. It's just common sense and it also exposes and makes fun of Al Gore, which isn't difficult to do.

"It's truly extraordinary how every left-of-centre journalist in the country has managed to become an instant expert on the arcane subjects of global warming and the science of climate change.
Imagine, for example, if some average Canadian hack who had never studied the Middle East suddenly announced that he was an authority on Israel-Palestine, knew which side was right and knew how to solve all of the associated problems.
This, however, is what we are told every day when it comes to the fashion of sounding green. The more sympathy we can exhibit for Al Gore's polar bear or David Suzuki's whining, the more trendy and acceptable we become.
There are, however, an increasing number of peer-reviewed and intensely credible scientific minds who believe conventional thinking on global warming is nonsense.
One such being Lord Christopher Monckton, former science adviser to British prime minister Margaret Thatcher and a world-renowned scholar.
He was in Canada recently and appeared on my television show. A man of compelling wit and eloquence, he has defeated so many environmental activists -- he calls them "bedwetters" -- that few of them will now debate him.
"Al Gore has refused several times. Here is a man who is paid $300,000 per speech and has his staff control all of the questions that are asked. People ask why he is so committed," Monckton said. "Simple. He was a failed politician worth $2 million; he's now a famous activist worth $200 million!"
According to Monckton there are more than 700 major scientists who steadfastly refute the notion that the climate is changing to any worrying degree, that global warming is a reality and that the planet is in danger.
"It's all about the need of the international left to rally round a new flag."
Minimal
In a series of articles he appears to show that Earth's sensitivity to increased atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide is minimal.
"Take the example of the medieval warm period," he says. "The bedwetters tell us that this was brief and irrelevant. Yet if we look at history we see it wasn't brief and is certainly relevant. Climate does change but it's minor and it has little if anything to do with man's intervention." A brief pause. "It's about money and control. There is a lot of money to be made out of the so-called green economy and it allows people to tell us what to do -- which is what some people relish doing."
He continues: "Remember DDT, the pesticide used to kill mosquitoes that carried malaria. Jackie Kennedy read a book saying it was harmful, got her husband the president to bring pressure to have it banned and in 40 years 40 million people, mainly children, died. Now we've come to our senses and re-introduced it but only after the fashionable left did their damage.
"Global warming is similar. It makes no sense, is bad science and policies to deal with it will cause terrible problems. People are being indoctrinated and critics are intimidated into silence."
Is he annoyed at his opponents' refusal to take him on?
"Actually I'm rather delighted. It means I'm winning."
Frankly, he's probably right."

The Guy Is Amazing

You have to give Obama his due. This guy was elected President of the United States and received the Nobel Peace Prize without one accomplishment on his ever dwindling resume'.

Day-vuuuuuud Letterman!

I just remembered: I haven't written anything about David Letterman. It's due to my brain process. I don't think about him often. He's not funny. He hasn't been for years. He's become very political(liberal). He's a male Janeane Garafalo. Anyway, do you recall when he was ranting about Sarah Palin's daughter getting pregnant. He excoriated her for being irresponsible for not using birth control as if a seventeen year old should be lambasted by an aging old has been. Yes, he's the one who made mention of Palin's early teen daughter being raped by a New York Yankee. Do you see where this ditty is going? Letterman; irresponsible, hypocrite, buffoon, and getting what he deserves. Why does a mouth always catch up with the mouthee? It's like when Robin Williams went on Letterman and slammed Rush Limbaugh for his addiction to pain killers. It was funny, to some, at the time. Then, a week later Williams had himself admitted to a rehab facility. His only request was that news reporters honor his request to treat his illness as a private matter.

Politics-It Ain't Pretty

Let's keep this short. Is Obama playing politics with our troops? During the Bush presidency the Democrats fought openly to show the caskets of dead soldiers on their return to this country. Now, there is a concerted effort to keep pictures under wraps.
It's all politics but much more important than any Olympic game. Come up with a plan, Barry. The lives of our young men are depending on your wisdom.

Obama Job Creation

President Obama during his weekly radio address for October 3 told us his health care plan will create thousands of jobs. He's correct. According to estimates from thee Heritage Foundation 770,000 government bureaucratic positions will be required to oversee his goal of the takeover of one-sixth of our economy. Point being these are taxpayer paid positions. But you already knew that.

Good For Them, Not For Us

It’s good enough for YOU
The Affordable Health Choices Act, recently voted out of the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee along party lines will force millions of “Americans into stingy insurance plans with tight, HMO-style controls,” the Wall Street Journal reports. However, it may come as no surprise that on page 114, line 22, the Act specifically exempts members of Congress from their own “reform”. That’s right; ObamaCare for Thee, but NOT for me.
Currently members of Congress enjoy among the widest selection of health plans in the country …

Lawyers

I was caught by surprise when I found out there were only 132 lawyers in the House of Representatives and 60 in our current Senate; thought there would be more. I don't know why it's such a big deal to be a lawyer. Have you ever looked through a phone directory? There are more of them than there are Chins in a Peking directory. The monster question for me is, what does being a lawyer have to do with being able to pass laws for the benefit of the people? The impact these yo-yo's have on our everyday lives is bigger than most of us can comprehend yet we let them decide cradle to grave life styles. I guess it's no different than that of teacher's. Just because someone has a license to teach doesn't necessarily mean the have the knowledge e.g. one of my fellow western civ com padres insisted bourgeoisie was pronounced, burr-gus-eez. I had another who taught Theodore and Franklin were brothers and a third instruced his students that the War Between the States occurred from 1851-55. They were respected because of the degree not the ability to perform. At least until people saw them in action.
Thomas Jefferson might have had it correct when he stated that only farmers should have the right to vote due to their everyday life experience.

I Was Wrong----Big Time

Something went wrong, or right, in Copenhagen. The US lost out on the 2016 Olympic bid and I'm as shocked as Oprah. Heads are going to roll in ChiTown. Mayor Daley is going to get out his head knocker and some secrets are about to be divulged.
I'm just giddy for the citizens of Chicago.
Now, there are some big positives to this situation. Tokyo is out too. It might be because the governor of that city said 2016 might be the last Olympics due to global warming. Better still, I'm pushing for Rio. That's the land of the girl from Ipanema. Try and name a babe from Chicago. I can't think of any. Frank Sinatra sang, "My Kind Of Town" but that's no big deal cuz he's long dead.

Appeasement

If, after Obama's meeting with the Iranians, he gets off a plane carrying an umbrella and announcing "peace in our time" I'm heading for the fallout shelter. What the hell! I'm already stockpiling supplies.

Kevin Jennings Sex Czar--Oops, Safe School Czar

From The Washington Examiner 10/01/2009
Kevin Jennings, President Obama's Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug FreeSchools at the U.S. Department of Education, is in hot water this week for having failed to report that a 15-year-old sophomore student in his school had told him of having sex with an older man.
But failure to report what appeared to be a case of statuatory rape of a child may be the least of Jennings' worries. Lori Roman of Regular Folks United points to statements by Jennings a decade or more ago when he praised Harry Hay of the North American Association for Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which promotes the legalization of sexual abuse of young boys by older men.
Roman provides damning details and links here. She also notes that Jennings wrote the forward "to a book called Queering Elementary Education. And another fellow you may have heard of wrote one of the endorsements on the book jacket—Bill Ayers." Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber from the 1960s who is just an "acquaintance" of Obama.
Every presidential administration ends up with scandals inspired by controversial appointees, but typically those tend to revolve around financial improprieties, conflicts of interest, or some other form of white-collar misconduct. For Obama, the scandals seem to be develping in a pattern of disclosures revolving around radical left ideology that raises questions about their fitness for any job in government.
And that in turn raises the inevitable question: Is nobody minding the White House personnel store?

Screwy

Doesn't it seem a bit, no, a lot screwy and ridiculous that the main focus of the twenty-four hour news cycle deals with the Olympics. Chicago, the home of Al Capone, the Daley regime, precinct captains wallowing in tainted dollar bills, Rod Blagojovich Barack Hussein Obama and one of the highest murder rates in the nation is being presented as the end of the yellow brick road in securing the Olympic Games. Reports already say that there is a mad rush by Democratic insiders to buy up land to be used for new sports venues. Can you say "graft and corruption"? More than half of the people of Chicago do not want the 2016 Olympics. The 49 precincts captains voted and surprise the vote was a unanimous 49. Last month the City had to shut down operations for a day because they couldn't pay the bills. So, here's what happens. The fix is in, I'd bet, and the people from the City of Big Shoulders will burden it's people with higher taxes to support the luxurious lifestyles of the rich and infamous.
