CBO: Taxes Will Rise 30% In Next Two Years

(CNSNews.com) - The amount of money the federal government takes out of the U.S. economy in taxes will increase by more than 30 percent between 2012 and 2014, according to the Budget and Economic Outlook published today by the CBO.
At the same time, according to CBO, the economy will remain sluggish, partly because of higher taxes.

Is It Texting Or Is It Memorex?

Lawdy, lawdy it's embarrassing living in the 21st century with all these new fangled gadgets and technology. I do believe it's the reason God set our life expectancy rates so the next generation can handle future inventions with ease while us old-timers fade into the sunset. True story. A month ago I visited the Dublin Public Library due to my computer contracting a virus. So, I sauntered in and sat down at a row of six computers. I thought it was strange and kind of funny there were five year olds sitting next to me looking at mini screens. They were all playing games and I was clueless as to how they worked--as if I wanted to. One of the toothless kindergartners kiddies pointed to the 'big people' computers and said, "You belong over there", so off I went. I may have hears giggling but I'm not sure.
Lizzie and I were driving to Springfield, Ohio to see the grandkids a month ago and she was fiddling with my cell phone when she said, "you have text messages". "Egg on my face", I thought. I had no idea about a text and if I did I couldn't have figured out how to open it so she did it for me. I told her to erase them so after she had done this to 37 of the 97 messages she told me her fingers were tired and would finish later. Later happened to be three days ago when all of a sudden she yelled at me, "You've got porn pictures on this phone"! There were two pictures which I wasn't allowed to see and then I got blamed because I happened to know people(men) who sent porn. What is it with women? Every man I know, some time in his life, has sent out sexually suggestive jokes or pictures but I got the blame because I knew them. I have a priest friend who sends sexually suggestive jokes. An elder in a church does the same. I do know the photo's came from 989 area code which is in Michigan so I can sort of put my finger on who sent it except I haven't talked with him for four years. I guess if a person has to send out porn time stands still when men are men.
Last night I figured out how to get at the text messages still in my phone vault. I had four from 2010 asking me if I wanted to go golfing and/or fishing. My stock broker sent me one showing his new boat and another of his granddaughter holding a shot gun she won at some event. In addition, he had fourteen other texts dating back two years. What a shocker if I'd have received a text from the lottery commission saying I had twenty-four hours to pick up my million dollars; six months ago.
After these adventures a normal person would think that texting would become an integral part of my life from this day forward. But you'd be wrong if you said in the affirmative. I could care less. Besides, by the time I figured out how to do it I'd be dead which is the way God meant it to be.

Remember This?

So what that Eric Holder keeps a picture of Janet Reno on his office wall. Afterall, birds of a feather and all that jazz!

Hooray For This Guy

(CNSNews.com) - Roman Catholic Bishop David A. Zubik of Pittsburgh says the Obama administration is telling American Catholics: “To Hell with you.”

“The Obama administration has just told the Catholics of the United States, ‘To Hell with you!’” the bishop said in a column posted on his diocesan website. “There is no other way to put it.”

As an aside why not carry this scenario out. Let's say you're an atheist and want to have two children but the Obamaites want a one child policy. I mean, it happens in other places. People, we all come from all walks of like with our own interests. If the government decides one of your priorities is wrong then you may be SOL. With this administration it's a lot more than the abortion issue.

Adios Bourgeoisie?

According to Obamainksi we have only two classes in this country; the uber rich and the uber poor. As a man from southern Kentucky once told me, "there ain't no middlin' class". Since we are a two class society, according to the 99%'ers I wondered how we got that way then I came across an article from Dan Cirucci, Penn State University-Abingdon. It's really quite simple. Commie Czar #1 planned it that way:

Ten Ways That Obama Is Destroying The Middle Class

President Obama spent a lot of time during his State of the Union speech talking about protecting, preserving and helping the middle class.
But the record shows that his policies are actually contributing to the destruction of the middle class.
In fact, the statistics paint a sobering picture for just what President Obama has achieved in his fight to “help the middle class reclaim a sense of economic security that will benefit the entire economy”:
•Unemployment: The number of people unemployed has grown by over one million.
•Long-term Unemployment: The average duration of unemployment has more than doubled, to an astonishing 40.8 weeks.
•Jobs: Nearly 1.7 million jobs have been lost.
•Income: Median household income has declined by nearly $1,000.
•Poverty: The number of people in poverty has grown by over six million.
•Hunger: Food stamp participation has increased by more than 14 million people, to a devastating 46.2 million.
•Health Care: Average family health insurance premiums have increased by more than $1,500.
•Energy: Gas prices have nearly doubled, to $3.38 per gallon.
•Housing: Foreclosures have spiked to a record one-million-plus annually.
•Debt: Each family’s share of the publicly-held national debt has skyrocketed by more than $35,000, to nearly $90,000.

A Case Of Mistaken Identity

Ever since our Emperor made 'The Bow' in Saudi Arabia it's been concluded it was made to King Abdullah. Then I took a closer look at the photo and it appears we were all wrong. It isn' a bow to the King. I'll be damned if Nicholas Sarkozy isn't the recepient of our fool's back bend.

Say What? No Epidural!

The Associated Press:

DES MOINES — At 13 pounds, 13 ounces, Asher Stewardson was even bigger than his brother at birth.
Asher was delivered without the aid of surgery on Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Fifteen months ago, his brother, Judah, arrived weighing 12 pounds and an ounce at birth.
Mercy officials say only a tenth of 1 percent of all newborns weigh more than 11 pounds at birth.
The boys’ mother, Kendall, Stewardson, endured six hours of labor without an epidural injection. She says she and her husband, Joshua, wanted to avoid cesarean delivery because that wouldn’t have been good for her or Asher.

Where Did I Go Wrong?

In a defiant raspberry to the city Department of Education — and taxpayers — disgraced teacher Alan Rosenfeld, 66, won’t retire.

Deemed a danger to kids, the typing teacher with a $10 million real estate portfolio hasn’t been allowed in a classroom for more than a decade, but still collects $100,049 a year in city salary — plus health benefits, a growing pension nest egg, vacation and sick pay.

Mayor Bloomberg and Gov. Cuomo can call for better teacher evaluations until they’re blue-faced, but Rosenfeld and six peers with similar gigs costing about $650,000 a year in total salaries are untouchable. Under a system shackled by protections for tenured teachers, they can’t be fired, the DOE says.

Two Different Stories

Trooper: Occupy protesters face same arrest risks:
The Occupy Des Moines protesters empty a city park they had been told to leave and return to state property where dozens of people were arrested in October. More arrests are expected about 11 p.m. today.

More than 2,000 U.S. flags lined the streets of Centerville as the southern Iowa town mourned the death of Marine Master Sgt. Travis Riddick.
Riddick, 40, graduated from Centerville High School in 1990. He died in a helicopter crash while serving in Afghanistan on Jan. 19.

Two different stories running side by side on the Des Moines Register website. For some strange reason it hit me right between the eyes. One person gives his life so that others have the 'right' to protest the fact that their lives and civil rights are something one would find in a gulag.

'Get The Hell Out'

Those are the words from US Representative, Lt. Col. Allen West to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Barack Obama. They are destroying America and if they don't like it here get the hell out, said West. If a black man says this is it reverse racism?

Holder Was Informed Of 'Fast And Furious' The Day It Happened

Attorney General Eric Holder’s Department of Justice dumped documents related to Operation Fast and Furious on congressional officials late Friday night. Central to this document dump is a series of emails showing Holder was informed of slain Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder on the day it happened – December 15, 2010.

It's Great To Be The King

"The attorney, Michael Jablonski, responded to the legal challenges of several Georgia voters by just plain refusing to participate in the court proceedings. He announced that he and his client, the president of the United States, would simply “suspend further participation” in the Georgia court case and that President Obama would ignore a subpoena to appear.

Seaside Florida

We drove over to Seaside yesterday. It's a twenty minute drive from our condo and is a quaint community. The film starring Jim Carrey, Laura Linney and Ed Harris called, The Truman Show, was filmed in it. Every Saturday folks bring their goods to the town square to be sold. There are art shops aplenty and a book store that has an author available for a signing every Saturday. I had a brief chat with this week's authoress and have to admit I can't remember her name. I do know this. She's from Atlanta, worked for Gannett, has red hair, has been compared to Erma Bombeck and is slightly overweight for around fifty-five. If you know the person let me know. I might buy her book---or not.
It must cost bucket loads of money to live at Seaside but why would a person want to? Think about being in a cage at the zoo; folks walking around your street gawking and dropping candy wrappers on your sidewalk. The side streets are very small and the homes have the names of the owners and their home town on the front; like they're special or something. This is the off season so the homes were vacant for the most part.
We were only at Seaside for two hours. It was okay; got me away from television for awhile and I didn't spend any money, either.

Good Stuff

This is what happens when a little boy grows up with parents that don’t want him!

It is really easeier than you think to understand.

If liberals are unhappy than no one can be happy!

If a conservative sees a U.S. flag, his heart swells with pride. If a liberal sees a U.S. flag, he feels shame.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, they don’t buy them. If a liberal doesn’t like guns, then no one else should have one either.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he won’t eat meat. If a liberal is, they want to ban all meat products for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat it. If a liberal see an enemy he wonders what he can do to appease him.

If a conservative is homosexual, he’ll quietly enjoy his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he’ll demand everyone get involved in his bedroom activities.

If a successful conservative is black or Hispanic, he’ll see himself as having succeeded on his own merits. Successful liberal minorities still claim “racism” and want government to give them even more.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to work to better his situation. A liberal wants someone else to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels. If a liberal doesn’t like a radio show, he demands that the station be shut down or censored.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he just doesn’t go to church. Non-believing liberals demand that everyone cease believing and demands churches be censored.

If a conservative needs health care, he shops for it, or chooses a job that provides it. Liberals demand that everyone else provide him with healthcare for free.

If a conservative sees a law, he thinks long and hard before suggesting a change. If a liberal sees a law he assumes it is just a suggestion and does what he wants anyway.

Conservatives feel there is a right and wrong. Liberals feel that nothing is really wrong… unless it is believed by a conservative.

Conservatives believe in freedom, responsibility, tradition, and self-reliance.
Liberals believe in license, government restrictions, upending tradition, and collectives

It's Not About Newt

There's an interesting article in The American Thinker this morning. It's title, 'It's Not About Newt' smacked me upside the head. The real problem with the Republicans is it's leadership. There isn't any. At the very least not a coordinated leadership.

Obama Fanatic Threatens Arizona Sheriff With 1000 Bullet Holes

Where is the civil discourse? This article showed up on The Blaze, not the MSM.

Obama Ignored Due Process Of Law/Is Impeachment Around The Corner

One of the attorneys who challenged Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court says he fears that even if the justices declared Obama constitutionally unqualified, he’d simply ignore the ruling and continue issuing orders.
But those who observed a court hearing today in Atlanta say it could be the beginning of the end for the Obama campaign, because of the doubt that could surge like a tidal wave across the nation.

The comments came today from Leo Donofrio, who led the pack in filing lawsuits over Obama’s 2008 election and his subsequent occupancy of the White House.

He was commenting on today’s hearing before a Georgia administrative law judge on complaints raised by several state residents that Obama is not eligible to run for the office in 2012. That hearing went on after Obama and his lawyer decided to snub the court system and refuse to participate.

Ta-Dah And Strike Up The Band

Hey gang, we just went over 50,000 page views. Who'd ever have thunk it when this thing began. Remember that we went over a year with 2,000 views so subtracting 2,000 from 50,000 in the last two years equals, uh, oh,------you do it!
Thank you, again, everyone. Life and it's daily treasure is what creates this blog.

Flip Flopping

It's tedious having to listen to the radio and tv commercials in Florida. Won't the primary ever arrive? On a daily basis the Republicans are beating up each other verbally. I heard an attack on Romney today----and yesterday---and the day before that about his support for stem cell research as governor of Massachusetts. There was much mention made of his support of abortion for women. This may sound like a cop out but if Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, John F. Kerry, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, etc., etc., etc., can be Pro-Life then with the quickness of a lightening strike become supporters of the right to end a child's life why can't Romney do the opposite without being castigated as a phony? Let me think--I did support life but now want babies to die or I didn't support life but now I think the other way. Hmmmmm! Who cares if this is being done for the sake of expediency. 'Life' just seems a bit more positive than saying the word, 'death'.

Obama The Linguist

“On Tuesday at the State of the Union, I laid out my vision for how we move forward,” President Obama said at a campaign event in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I laid out a blueprint for an economy that’s built to last, that has a firm foundation. Where we’re making stuff* and selling stuff* and moving it around and UPS drivers are dropping things off everywhere.” BHO

“That’s the economy we want. An economy built on American manufacturing, with more good jobs and more products made here in the United States of America,” he also said.

STUFF* aka in the real world: goods, products, services

Because It's Funny. That's Why.

Another Mattel 'Hot Wheels' Company Bankrupted

(CNSNews.com) - Ener1--a company that manufactures batteries for electric cars, and that received $118.5 million in federal stimulus money, and that Vice President Joe Biden visited last year the day after President Obama’s State of the Union Address—announced today that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Just for the hey of it you can watch the YouTube of Obama touting this company.

Another Sign Armageddon Has Arrived

"Fear Factor" producers' plans to serve fresh glasses of donkey semen to contestants on the next episode had NBC execs so concerned ... they gave serious thought to killing the stunt, TMZ has learned.
Sources involved in the production tell us the stomach-churning stunt was shot last summer.
We're told the challenge involved teams of twins drinking the full glass of donkey semen -- with a glass of urine thrown in for good measure. Contestants had to drain both glasses in order to move on to the next round. TMZ(if you can believe them) say that some contestants followed through on the challenge.

Our sources say NBC execs had multiple pow-wows in the months after the stunt was shot ... but eventually gave FF producers the thumbs up.
Calls to NBC were not immediately returned.

A Star Is (Possibly) Born

It's only taken three years but today is the big day. Yours truly signed up for a writing class through a continuing education class. It's called, "Memoirs for Memories". Seems to me I could have come up with a better one, "Take Their Money And Run" sounds good. Anyway, there are fourteen folks signed up for the class. The way I figure it'll be thirteen old dames and moi. Geesh! Fears abound thinking about it. I've been around these 'old bags' before; talk, talk, talk----yap, yap, yap. I'd be forced to listen to stories about raising children and buying clothes and jewelry and, 'Oh MY Gosh'--knitting for grandchildren. But I'm projecting, aren't I?
In case you've never guessed, I have never had writing instruction. Nope, it's true. In writing, even though I veer away from it, I try to have only two rules of thumb: (1) pretend I'm telling a story to a group of people and (2) avoid getting wordy. If I can get the point across using four words instead of fourteen then do it.
One of my dear friends from Spring, Texas or is it The Woodlands wants us to join forces? Anyway, he wants to collaborate on a book about growing up in the old homestead of Boone, Iowa. A different set of eyes, dontcha' know. There have been a couple of books written about our hometown. So far, none have made it on the NY Times best seller list. unlike the others ours would be funny and interesting and full of juicy gossip.
In a few minutes I'll take off for the college. It's located in Niceville, Florida so what could go wrong? I'll anxiously await the professor's take on what I put on pen and paper. If she thinks I have no talent then that's okay. I'm sure she won't put it in those words but I can take constructive criticism. Besides, I've been in a position before when I've had to tell more than one person to 'shove it up their ---'!

Achtung!

By Laura Meckler:
LAS VEGAS–President Barack Obama got a warm reception when he spoke to workers at a United Parcel Service Inc. facility in Las Vegas, but it’s always nice to hear what members of the audience made of the speech, in their own words. So afterwards, a reporter approached a couple of employees, who were happy to talk.

This is when it got interesting. Members of UPS intervened and said the employees were not available for comment. If the media was interested UPS would sent out its own spokespeople.

Just Another Day At The Office

Electric-Car Firm That Got Biden Visit, $118M in Stimulus, Files for Bankruptcy.

To Newt Or Not To Newt

It's been a struggle but since we've been in Florida I've gotten away from the political game. In the past two weeks the talk radio station out of Ft. Walton Beach has remained silent. When we watch television we get the normal political ads, more so than at other times because the Florida Primary takes place next week. It's sinful the way the Republicans are destroying each other.
I've vacillated about candidates for over two years. My first choice and he remains so today is Sen. John Thune from South Dakota. Sadly, it ain't gonna to happen. Then when the field was set Michelle Bachmann was my choice. She's gone too so what's wrong with my choices?
Anyway, it's down to Newt and Romney. For awhile I thought Newt would make shambles of Obama and stand the best chance of defeating him. In the past few days, and it's my opinion only, I'm 1000% wrong. The only positive Gingrich has going for him is that Republicans would like to see him as the candidate who could destroy Obama in a debate. I find it best, when thinking of who I would want to be president to put it on a personal level. Romney reminds me of my father-in-law. He's business-like and professional. He knows how to run businesses. Question? I can't recall hearing from a Romney employee that he's a no good bum. Can you? He has absolutely no marital baggage. He's a family man. Being a family man is the most important job a fella can do. It's more important than how much money a person makes or how many Boards of Directors they sit on. Romney's thoughts are measured and he seemingly treats people around him as like they are significant. My boss was this way. He figured if his salesmen did well then he would do well so he gave us the leeway to be successful without dominating our lives and thought processes. My boss didn't want to be the center of the universe. Lord knows the guy in office right now is this way and how are you liking that? To me Newt and Obama would be one and the same when it comes to universal egos.
Newt reminds me of a dysfunctional parent. They may have done good deeds and been successful. They may be brilliant. Newt is brilliant. But, when I walk in the front door of my home at night I want to know what to expect from my parent. I don't want to have to worry if they're drunk or angry or out of control. With Newt I'll always wonder what he's going to do next. I don't want a President who has his people asking, "What the hell is going on here"? With Newt my fear is that's the way it would be.

NOT Paying Their Fare Share

A new report just out from the Internal Revenue Service reveals that 36 of President Obama's executive office staff owe the country $833,970 in back taxes. These people working for Mr. Fair Share apparently haven't paid any share, let alone their fair share.

Wouldn't you be embarrassed? Then again, you're not a member of the privileged elite.

Warren Buffet's Secretary

She is the lady at the center of taxes, this Debbie Bosanek. Michelle let her sit as guest of honor at last nights cover-up. Ms. Bosanek is Buffett's secretary, the one whose tax rate is higher than his---ahem! She is reported to be making anywhere between $200,000 and $500,000 yearly as his----ahem, secretary. That is one big between.

Despite a heavy tax burden, Warren Buffett’s secretary last year was able to purchase a second home in Arizona, a residence complete with a swimming pool and a “professional PGA putting green,” according to real estate records.
Debra Bosanek, 55, and her husband Gerald bought the 2100-square-foot home in Surprise, a city outside Phoenix. The Bosaneks paid $144,000 for the four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath property (the purchase was financed, in part, by a $115,200 mortgage).

$2400 Dress

I'd flip out if Lizie wore a $240 dollar dress. But the Empress can do as she pleases. They pay their fair share, don't they? Unrealistically snazzy duds for the wife of a community organizer.

365 Days Is Like a Heart Beat

Tomorrow when I awaken there's a strong possibility three numbers will be staring me in the face: 666, 99 or 66. It all depends on my attitude toward life. Since I'm about to endure another birthday I could either feel like hell or aged beyond belief or just accept the fact that another year has flown by and I'm 66.
It seems to me that 65 was one of those celebratory years. Twenty-nine was that way as was thirty. For me, thirty-five was significant since that's considered middle aged. Everybody dreads forty. Not me. I thought that maybe, just maybe, when I turned that age I might have matured into adulthood. In retrospect I didn't.
As I look back the fiftieth birthday and what occurred in the following ten years was the very best life has to offer; kids are gone, there's a little extra cash and the body is still limber enough to genuflect at Mass without having to have help in getting back up. I haven't given sixty-six a whole lot of thought. I think it's because it's all downhill from here. Instead of reflecting on birthdays I've been thinking about growing up and the fears I faced and how they've actually turned out to be irrelevant. Between the ages of five and ten my greatest fear was whether or not I'd be able to watch Capt. Kangaroo, Tom Terrific and Bullwinkle for the rest of my life or would I grow tired of cartoons. "How could anyone in their right mind not like cartoons", I'd ask myself.
From ten to fifteen, since sports was the be all end all my only thought was would I make the team or be on the Little League and Babe Ruth All-Star teams. The All-Star team was an ultra big deal especially when one came from Boone, Iowa. I once had a man tell me I might be the best Little Leaguer to ever come out of the town. Isn't that something special to hang my hat on?
In high school my desire to be a good student, for some reason, went flying out the door. I'd lost the 'get good grades' fear I had in my first eight years at Sacred Heart. In high school I earned the normal B's and C's with a smattering of D's and A's. Once, I received an F in Mr. Saunders geometry class. My report card showed the letter in red. So I took a red pen and made it a B. I bought myself nine weeks of glory before the next card came out. High school fears? Does anyone in their right mind have them? You didn't have to worry about a girlfriend because even before you asked a girl on a date you've peppered her friends with questions. "Does she like me'? "Will she go to the Prom with me"? "I like her". "Are you sure she likes me"? By the time you do get the courage to call her on the phone it's almost like you've been going steady for two months. Nobody would take a chance on asking a girl out if you weren't sure she liked you.
On to college. Most of you who came out of high school and did go to college had the normal fears. Will I do well? What about grad school? All of that stuff that prepares a certain scholar for the future. Do you know what my greatest fear was in college? I was extremely fearful there was going to be a party going on that I didn't know about(I borrowed this line because it's funny). There was a pub across the street from Coe College called the East Side Maid-Rite. When I left school in '68 the owners placed a plaque over the bathroom toilet and it read: MJ Hawkeye, Most Career Pukes, 1965-68.
Then after I matriculated(nice word for a Phy. Ed. Major) I found a job, got married, raised children and placed myself into the daily humdrum of a career. Those thirty-nine years flew by faster than a sparrow flitting from one apple tree to another.
This brings me to today. I have no fears. Every once in awhile I'll think about death and dying and guess what? It's not on my radar. It's a part of life and I'm ready for it. A couple of months ago I had a biopsy. I acted like I was fearful but in reality I told myself, "If it is, it is". It wasn't. I read an article in the UK Daily last week about scientists who have invented a pill that makes mice stop aging. That would be a good pill to use when I was twenty-five. Can you imagine being eighty, then taking a non-aging pill. I'd be in a wheel chair with my head on my chest and spittle from my broth and crackers running down my cheek---for possibly two hundred years. If I could still hear, which I can hardly do today, my kids would come visit and ask the question thinking I was stone deaf; "WHAT'RE WE GOING TO DO WITH GRANDPA"? Not a good way to be.
Anyway, happy birthday to me. I'll celebrate with Lizzie. We might even go to one of those early bird specials they have in Florida and have a slice or two of key lime pie.

Former Houston Oil Exec Predicts $5 Gas By Election Day

HOUSTON - A former Houston oil executive predicts drivers could be paying $5 for a gallon of gas by the end of the year, and says politicians in Washington D.C. are to blam
John Hofmeister is the retired president of Shell Oil. He currently runs the non-profit group Citizens for Affordable Energy.
"It was actually December, 2010, when I predicted $5 gasoline by the end of 2012," said Hofmeister.

Dang! And I haven't purchased the Volt yet.

An Egyptian cleric has reportedly issued a Fatwah against anyone buying a Chevy because the logo looks like a cross. I won't buy a Chevy because the auto industry under Obama has issued their own 'fatwah' against capitalism and favoring union cronies. It's kind of the same thing without the death aspect.

Speech: It's European Socialism

“We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well while a growing number of Americans barely get by,” he said Tuesday, according to an advance copy of his remarks, “or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share and everyone plays by the same set of rules.” BHO
Isn't it possible for everyone to do as well as their mentality and ability permits? It's not as if there's a finite amount of wealth. Don't tell anyone I said this but it isn't European socialism. It's Mussolini and Hitlerian Fascism.

Romney, Obama, Biden. What They Gave To Charity

I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. If it wasn't so funny it'd be sad. What percentage of their income did Romney, Obama and Biden give to charity? Obviously, because some make more than others the dollar amount will be different.
Mitt Romney gave 14% based on a 2010 tax return; about 2.9 million dollars. Obama gave 6.1% when he had to show his 2008 return, around 60 grand. Between 2000 and 2004 Obama and the wife made a little over 1 million dollars; not bad for a community organizer. Of this they gave 10 thousand to charity. And what about Joe Biden? Well, he didn't give a percent. He and doctor wife, Jill, totaled $380.00. What is it with these democrats who have no compunction about taking our money but feel put upon to do the same.
I repeat, THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY STINKING DOLLARS TO CHARITY! Joe Biden you are a cheap ass boob.

"Let's Get Some Class"

Awhile back I put a post on the site that has been the most popular in our three year history. Well, today, just for yucks I revisited my charts. Still in first place is the photo of the young Israeli girl with a skimpy top being compared to Hamas women dressed as shadows. We have new second and third place entrants. Formerly in second was the red headed 6'2" Aussie stylishly outfitted in a bikini. She is nowhere to be found. Her place was taken by the Indian actress dubbed the most beautiful woman in the world. And, in third place, the man who does the Dos Equis beer commercials. You know him by his closing comment: "Stay thirsty, my friends". What does this say about my writing? It's obvious, isn't it? The people who most visit this site are interested in two things; boobs and beer. I have to believe that it is true that we are known by the company we keep.

Oscars 2012 Equals Dudsville

Have you checked out the nominees for Oscars yet? Talk about a sad and sorry year. One of the best picture nominees is 'Moneyball'. It's the story of how a general manager of the Oakland Athletics baseball team took a bunch of no names and made them into winners. It was cute but certainly no 'From Here To Eternity'.
Selecting Oscar nominees has to be a lot like picking the top 20 college football teams. It's the same ones every year but in a different order. Someday, when I see Coe College from Cedar Rapids, Iowa ranked up there with the big boys I'll know it's not a good ol' boys club as are the Oscar nominees. In the meantime, I'm going to prepare myself for tonight's episode of 'Justified'. It's better than anything Hollywood could ever produce.
I received an email from my good buddy, Jude, wondering why I didn't put a list of movies from 1962, '63 and '64 in the blog. I have to think he wanted a comparison to the garbage Hollywood will select whenever the Oscars take place. Is it April? Anyway, I went back to 1964, the year of our graduation, and came up with a list of movies that were phenomenal. The funniest movie up to 'Animal House' in 1979 had to be the classic Peter Sellers movie, 'A Shot In The Dark'. I'd never laughed so hard. Take a long look at the highlighted list and while your at a stroll down memory lane. The unique aspect of these films according to Lizzie is they've stood the test of time. How many of the pictures nominated in the last five years will be able to say the same?

P.S. I've received numerous emails from my gasification* friend telling me to have you look up movies from 1962. I did but in addition found a site that give all the nominees and winners of the 1960's. I hope this gets him off my back and allows you to see the list remember the films you missed out on while you were doing some heavy necking in the balcony.

*Gasification-a new process of turning coal into gasoline. My buddy and his company are on the cutting edge.

What Will The Catholic Left Do

"It's put up or shut up time". "It's time to take off the blinders". "Root, hog or die".
Twice in the last three days I've been forced to bring to the attention to my readers the situation of what the Obama administration is doing to a very significant portion of the population; my Catholic brethren. Specifically I'm referring to those who voted for Obama in the last election. Roman Catholics in this country gave the greater percentage of the vote to Obama than to the other candidate. They voted against their conscience and their faith and now it's coming back to bite them in the butt. Well, if you fall into this category then I say, "You got what you deserved, Dumbasses".
I was appalled when the president of the University of Notre Dame allowed Obama to give a commencement address in 2008. In case you've forgotten, Obama supported the "Born Alive Act". This allows babies born alive to be taken to an area and let them die. That is more than murder.
Well, that same Notre Dame is now in a quandary when it comes to health care. Since they are under the auspices of the Diocese of that area they must follow the rules. Under the new health care guidelines of abortion and contraception they must refuse participation in the new health care law. The fine for the university will be $10 million per year. Ladies and gentlemen, those who supported this administration from the get go deserve every bad thing that comes down the pike. Now that it's(the bad laws)being shoved down their throats let's see how long before they start crying "Help"!

Don't EVER Complain About Republican Money

I don't ever want those miscreants on the Left to whine and complain about the money made by Republicans. Bill Clinton, the 'Cad of the Condom', made over $75 million in speaking fees last year. People gave this no good cad money to listen to him talk about himself.

Except That The VW Didn't Start On Fire

Figures now show that the government mandated Volt will have their quota sold by 2069; off by only fifty years.

"C'mon Frenchy. Are You Sure You Didn't Get Decked By A Catsup Bottle"?

Ask yourself these questions. Who plays hockey at the age of 68?
Could it be that JFK got into it with Obama? His former staffer was arrested today for giving classified CIA secrets to three Washington journalists. This is a federal crime to be sure. The WaPo and AP failed to mention this. Surprised?
And he wanted to be our President.

Sieg Heil Mein Fuehrer

Friday’s ruling by the Department of Health and Human Services proved yet again that ObamaCare’s critics are right. It’s a breathtaking attack not only on the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious freedom, but also on the separation of church and state.
Kathleen Sebelius, the nominally Catholic HHS chief, bluntly informed religious medical institutions that offer services to the general public that she will indeed compel them to offer free birth control, sterilization and “morning after” pills as part of their employees’ health-care plans. They have exactly one year to get with the program or suffer the consequences.
HHS chief Kathleen Sebelius insists Catholic hospitals violate core church teachings.
That’s all their vehement objections to her August “guidelines” got them: “This additional year will allow these organizations more time and flexibility to adapt to this new rule,” read a department statement defending HHS’ insistence on what it euphemistically calls “preventive services.”

In other words, they have a year to figure out how to violate their religious beliefs and contravene church teaching. And if they choose to cancel their health-care plans rather than submit, they’ll incur a hefty annual fine under the tender mercies of ObamaCare.

They Were Just Having A Little Fun

Members of Occupy San Francisco urinated on a crucifix, desecrated a church and hurled bibles at the police over the week-end.

A Deserved Tribute

There's a man by the name of Michael Lacey who passed away after a long fight with cancer. This happened a few days ago. To my knowledge, I had not seen nor spoken to Mike since 1960. That was the year I left Boone Sacred Heart as an 8th grader and transferred to the pubic school. Mike Lacey was one of those guys everyone wanted to be like. He was good looking, raised in a strong Catholic family, an excellent athlete, an outstanding student and an all-around wonderful guy. I best remember Mike Lacey for being nice. He was three years older than I but treated us 'little kids' like we were his little brothers. That doesn't happen very often in todays climate. Every so often as the years have passed by I'd hear little things about Mike; things like what a special man he is or what he's done for charitable causes. I guess when a person grows up in a special way it's very difficult to become someone else. Mike Lacey--saying the name sounds so pure and innocent and so very, very right.
Mr. Lacey went on to raise a family and become very involved in many, many causes; causes for the greater good. I've included a photo in this piece sent to me by Mike's brother in law. Mr. Lacey was as much of an Iowa State University basketball fan as a person could be. As you can see he and his wife had courtside seats. The Iowa State family paid tribute to Mike at the last game by placing flowers next to his seat along with a personal jersey. I just thought you'd want to know. It's nice to recognize people who live the way God intended.

Only One Gets No Blame

Enclosed is a Washington Times editorial on what to expect from the State of the Union speech. According to them there is only one person not to blame, in his own mind, for the state of our affairs. Think about it. What was the economic aspect of 2008 compared with 2012? What are you paying for gas, peanut butter, chocolate, bread, clothing, everything. Yet, he bears no responsibility.

The Same Old Story: Food And Ice Cream Can Destroy A Week-End

Day after day, week after week, it's the same old story in Destin, Florida; the poor man's Ft. Myers. Lizzie and I crawl out of bed when we want, drink coffee til' we're full and walk til' we stop. This has been a very unusual winter for the western end of the Florida Panhandle. The temperature sunk to 46 when we arrived on the 14th of January but since then it's all sunshine and 70's. It's the way God meant it to be.
I've hooked up with a fella from my old golf club back in Ohio. He was an unknown to me then but we get out once in awhile to 'swing the sticks'. I find him an interesting codger. He and his wife have traveled the world. This summer they'll be going to east Africa on a pictorial safari. They eat at a different restaurant every night of the week and sometimes you can throw in a lunch to boot. What I find intersting is, when we golf and finish our round, while we're standing next to the 18th green, this man has to quickly prepare to leave the course by cleaning his clubs and putting head covers on them rather than having to pay the bag boys $2 to do it for him. Quirky? Glad I'm perfect!
Behind our condo is a smallish lake separating us from the Gulf. A wooden bridge runs across it. Lizzie told me a story about doing her daily walk and running into a fella who was fishing off the bridge. He started the conversation with: "Hi, bet ya' can't guess how old I am"? Now, had it been me I would have said, "Oh, 101". Lizzie, knowing he was in his late eighties told him he was probably in his early seventies. After that bit of conversation had ended he regaled her in the wonderful restaurant up the street called, 'The Golden Corral'. But, he said, you have to get there at 4:30 for the special. Yes, it's true. I never realized how many of the elderly type go to the 'The Early Bird Special'. The reason I know I am not yet old is because I don't go to the specials. It'd be a waste of time and food. By the time I'd have finished eating my mid-afternoon, night-time dinner I'd be thinking about what I was going to eat before I went to bed. We went out with our friends couple Saturday. I ordered Mahi-mahi with a baked potato and a salad along with four small pieces of bread dripping in olive oil. Our food arrive at 6pm. Along about 9 pm I went into a coma. You see, there's a chain ice cream store in Destin called Breuster's. They sell the tastiest ice cream ever. It makes Ben and Jerry's look and taste like doggie doo.
After flirting with the cute 30 year-old Filipino owner for a few minutes I decided on the chocolate swirl, coconut, almond chunk, calorie laden manna from heaven, a $10.95 quart of bliss. Did I write I 'went into a coma' at 9pm? Well, I came out of the coma at 10pm and the quart of rich, tasty cream was gone. Someone had stolen it. I awakened the next day hungover big time. Why I do this is beyond my capacity to think but it was fun at the time.
Yesterday, my post-ice cream day, I stayed in bed or on the couch in front of the television. If you've ever had a hangover, big time, you know of what I speak.
No moral to this post. I'm on the road to recovery, 'one day at a time'.

Illinois Vs. Wisconsin

Two years ago the Illinois legislature, controlled by crooks and thugs out of Chicago, passed a personal and corporate tax on the people to bring their debt problems in line. At the same time the state of Wisconsin 'manned' up and rid themselves of entitlement programs that required federal employees to pony up for healthcare and retirement. So, what is the result? In Illinois, their debt rate has plummeted them to #50 in the country, just below California. Wisconsin? Glad you asked. They rose from #41 as a debtor state to #17. Yet, Obama, SEIU and the teachers unions are pushing for a recall of Gov. Walker. Illinois can now proclaim itself to be the very worst fiscally run country in the nation.

Drink Up, Alcohol Doubles Life Span

Maybe Otis Campbell from Mayberry was right after all. Doctors say that drinking---oops, here comes that word, moderation, doubles ones life span.

I'm always going on and on about the Iowa Hawkeyes but there's another school in the state that deserves some recognition and that's the Iowa State Cyclones. Don't ask me why the Cyclones have Cy as a mascot cuz I don't know. Maybe it's the same reason the University of Alabama, called the Crimson Tide, has an elephant for their mascot.
Anyway, the Cyclones are doing darned good in basketball so, being the good steward of the state that I am I wanted to offer them some positive recognition.

Iowa Democrat Operative Tries To Steal ID OF Sec. Of State

The head of the 2008 Iowa Obama for President campaign, Zach Edwards, has been fingered for trying to steal the identity of the Iowa Sec. of State. For the life of me why would a Dem slime ball want to hack into one of Iowa's top officers life. Strange that I haven't read about this in the Des Moines Rag yet. This guy isn't your average numb skill either. He was the head of Sen. Tom 'Commie' Harkens' campaign, too

Administration Embarrasses Itself Again

For the second time in a week our administration has screwed up big time. First, it was the Keystone Pipeline deal. Mostly likely this oil will go to China. On top of that Obama had put in a bid for offshore oil from Brazil but they said, "no". The 38 billion gallons we wanted will now go to, who else, the Chinese. Not to fret. We still have Solyndra. My personal thought is we, Americans, had better get used to being around people with slanted eyes.

"Screw 'Em"

Obama directs there be no more uranium mining in Arizona for the next 20 years.
Northern Arizona currently has an unemployment rate of 17%. But, then again, Arizona in general, and northern Arizona in particular, is “red”. Let me suggest an ugly Presidential thought.
Can you hear the exalted one say,"I’m not going to win Arizona anyway, so, it makes more sense to appease the left and perhaps pick up some votes".

Solyndra: The Story That Never Ends

Give me a good reason, one will do, on why Solyndra employees were caught destroying millions of dollars worth of equipment? It's the story that keeps on giving.

Obama's First Campaign Ad Equals A Big Lie

The Regime has come out with their first campaign ad and it's a doozy. They say they've "saved or created" 2.7 million clean energy jobs. These were jobs aleady in existence when these liars took over our Republic.

It's Coming, Bit By Bit By Bit

Obama has ordered free birth control in the ObamaPlan. This has much to do with conscience and morality. but more than that it is forced government planning. Read history, folks, and look at what happened at home and abroad when governments forced their laws on the citizenry.

An Appro Description Of The MSM

It makes not a whit of difference who said it. The fact of the matter is when it comes to the Lame Stream Media and their ability to present the news in an objective and investigative manner: "They’re always bending over, looking for mouse turds while the elephants are walking by.”**
John King of CNN proved this at the South Carolina debate last evening.

Newt Hammers CNN

CNN debate moderator, John King, began tonights debate with a question to Newt Gingrich about his wife. With all the pressing issues in this world the MSM continues to cover for Obama and attack Republicans. Hooray for Newt. He fired back. Watch this video. It's vintage.

High School Mascot 'Cougar' Deemed Offensive

One of the greatest examples of how political correctness is destroying our everyday lives has to be the story about a new Utah High School. The students voted for the school mascot to be the 'Cougar'. School officials and some parents over rode their vote. They felt the word 'cougar', a modern day term to describe a middle aged woman who preys on younger men, might do harm to their precious children's psyche. Let us all be thankful the kids didn't originally decide on 'The Fightin' MILF's' as a mascot. There has to be a moral here: Mormons, cougars, polygamy, middle aged woman, older men. Whatever!

Insanity

President Obama today said that unemployment benefits create more jobs than the Keystone Pipeline. Honestly, I cannot make this stuff up.
Dan Cleary of Right Side wrote this piece. If Obama is as smart as he says he is maybe we should take a look at his college grades to add credence to his brilliant statement(s).

I Wanted To Quit Then I Read This Crap

Atlantic Magazine, by Joshua Green
"Lots of candidates have embarrassing things in their past that they'd hate to have flare up in the middle of a presidential campaign. I think we can safely conclude that we have found Rick Santorum's! At the right, cast your eyes upon the tragedy that is Santorum's high school year book photo--specifically, Carmel High School in Mundelein, Illinois, in 1976".

After I got out of bed this morning I was looking at lucianne.com and came across the above article written by Joshua Green, formerly at Atlantic magazine. Prior to reading I was in a funk about writing. I got this same way two years ago and put a picture of Alfred E. Neuman on my site with the words, 'Finis'. I was bored and feeling very unfunny and didn't want to put out the same old tired drivel day after day. Besides, I wasn't making as much money as I wanted(more than a dollar). Don't you hate going through the motions without any zest for what you're doing? It's like saying to yourself, "yeah, I'll have another cup of coffee. There isn't anything else to do. Then I may or may not go to the bathroom depending on how I feel". That was me and it was this way until I read the Atlantic crap. It is beyond fathomable that a magazine pays someone actual money to write such pointless garbage. What this is supposed to be is a hit piece on the way a kid looked at 18. There were one hell of a lot spookier looking kids than Santorum because I tried teaching hundreds of these yahoos. I don't know if, "Right on, Dude" was in vogue in the 70's but I'd be willing to bet if it was it didn't come out of Santorum's mouth. If this Joshua Green character can get away with scatology writing surely MJ Hawkeye can do it, too. Besides, I'd put my high school senior year picture up against Green's anytime. Hey, I asked Dianne Tingwald to the Senior Prom and she said, "Yes". So I've got that goin' for me. I hope Green doesn't expect Miss America to come a callin' anytime soon cuz it ain't gonna happen. And his writing isn't worth a damn, either.

Jesse A Deadbeat Dad

How many have forgotten Jesse had a love child out of wedlock? The blessed event occurred around the time he was counseling Bill Clinton. Jacksons' wife hung in there with him. Sad to say JJ owes over 11K in child support. He has reneged on a court ordered $400 per month for over a year. This doesn't seem like much money. I spend that much in greens fees and I don't have a love child.

Newt Gingrich

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". A famous person in history uttered the phrase. We're talking about things that happened ten years ago. It's old news. Time to move on.

Is This All They've Got?

"There are 10 months to go before election day, and the Obama re-election campaign has already begun running a self-congratulatory TV ad.
The 30-second ad, titled “Unprecedented,” frames President Barack Obama as a leader who kept his 2008 campaign promises to subsidize the green-tech energy industry".

Ron Paul: Would Have Loved Munich In '38

Limbaugh: "What Romney Is Not"

Now, here‘s what Romney doesn’t do, all this talk about Romney, 15 percent, his speech income, he doesn’t know how much, how little and so forth. Let me tell you what Romney doesn’t do. Romney has not played over 90 rounds of golf in three years while everybody is suffering. Romney has not flown all over the world on the federal government’s dime. Romney has not had lavish parties and concerts on the public’s dime. Romney has not lived like a king on other people’s money. He has sent his wife on government jets four hours ahead of him to the same destination. Romney is not responsible, nor is any other Republican, for the 16 percent unemployment, real unemployment in this country. Romney is not responsible for increased fuel and food costs. He’s not responsible for any of this.

That would be Obama, who pretends to care about the middle class but lives like a king at the public trough. Mitt Romney’s not the problem. Newt Gingrich isn’t the problem. Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, not the problem. We find ourselves in this mess because of Barack Obama. And here come some people who want to dramatically change course, reverse course. And all we get in the news media is what a bunch of reprobates they are, when every one of them is a fine human being. Every one of them is a decent person. Every one of them is an average American in their own ways. Obama is not, his wife is not.

Felons In The National Football League

I had to go back to 2008 to come up with the most current list of felons in the NFL. In light of the Tim Tebow brouhaha I felt some balance was necessary. The list goes back quite a way but the point is still the same. Fortunately, there are some very good people who are sports personalities and they should be given their due. Colt McCoy who played for Texas, Sam Bradford from the University of Oklahoma and Tebow were all Heisman Trophy winners playing at the same time and are now in the NFL. All are devout in their faith and openly so. Aaron Rogers of the Packers is the same way. Only wanted to provide some food for thought.

News Flash: Obama To Reject Keystone Pipeline This Afternoon

It appears the green crowd has exerted the proper influence in stopping the Keystone Pipeline from running from Canada to US refineries. Updates as we move through the day. I happened to be watching a 60 Minutes with Lizzie this Sunday past. There was a segment about Qatar and all the riches they have in the nation. Of course, 60 Minutes, being the utopia channel touted everything Qatar without citing one bad aspect of living in the country. One item that did catch my interest was when the Emir or whomever he is, said they can get a refinery up and running in five years. Harken back to the Clinton administration when Bubba told us it would be futile to build refineries since they take 20-25 years to get up and running. My thought at the time was, "So what. In 25 years we'll have refineries". I don't know how long it's been since we've constructed one in this country but I know my friend, George, would know. I was given the same response from our socialistic/communist senator, Sherrod Brown, last year.
Let's add some fuel to the fire. It is my understanding that three environmental studies have been done in the past five years to determine the impact of the Keystone Pipeline on our environment. None of the three found any detrimental significance. In addition, every major airport in the United States uses underground pipelines. How many airport explosions have hit the news cycle. Unless the Hindenburg was a pipeline disaster then I'd say zip.
Green rules, folks.

How to Get A Free Government Cell Phone

You folks should thank me for the wonderful PSA's I perform(with a cash gift). Silly me. I've never thought about how we could come up with freebie cell phones for our family.
And just think, since they're free no one, not even the taxpayer, has to pay for them. What a country!

Ships Captain Comes Up With A Beauty

Everyone knows about the ship that ran aground and, sadly, the loss of life involved. Now it's revealed that the ships captain was one of the first to 'jump ship'. But he's come up with the all-time best excuse ever for doing so; he tripped and fell into a life boat as it was being lowered.
If I ever come home at 3 a.m., tipsy and with a bimbo on my arm, I want this guy with me to explain to Lizzie what happened.

Wikipedia Goes On Vacation

First example of wikipedia authenticity

It's going to be a struggle getting through this post. Wikipedia is shutting down for 24 hours in protest of anti-piracy laws or so they say. If you're not familiar with wikipedia it's a non-professional form of information used to give us quick answers on subjects and people; kind of like Cliff Notes used for college exams when students don't read the subject matter i.e. cheat sheets.
I use wiki to find out about a persons bio. It comes in handy when I'm watching a tv show and Lizzie says, "have we seen him in something other than this"? Anyway, Wikipedia along with a couple of other sites I've never heard of are protesting Washington congressional folks not supporting them; some say others are using offshore anti-piracy laws to restrict their 'whatever'. I hope I can better explain the importance of wiki in this crazy world with this story. In 1969 I was the head basketball coach and Athletic Director of a small school in northwest Iowa. Our cheerleaders were extremely upset that I would not allow them to ride on the team bus with the players. I saw this as some sort of distraction especially since four of the six were 'going steady' with four of my players. The girls informed me that if they couldn't ride then they wouldn't cheer at the next home game. Well, as you might expect, I was extremely distraught at the prospect of no cheerleaders leading our student body so I said to them, "Okay, don't cheer". That my friends is the power that Wikipedia has today. Why don't you forget about this post and do other things. It's going to be a long day without wiki but I imagine we'll suffer through.

Man Marries Girlfriend At Her Funeral

London Daily Mail:

Clad in what can only be described as a ‘mourning’ suit, a grief-stricken boyfriend married his dead girlfriend at her funeral and then posted their wedding snaps on his Facebook page.
TV producer Chadil Deffy (also known as Deff Yingyuen) wore a top hat and tuxedo as he slid the wedding ring onto ‘bride’ Ann Kamsuk’s finger at the grim ceremony in Surin, Thailand.

3 Beheaded In US Last Year

Shoudn't it be all over the 24 hour news cycle if there was a beheading in the US last year? What if I said there were three? That should ring plenty of bells but I don't recall reading of such a thing or seeing it on the news shows. Authorities say they were drug cartel killings. So what. Let them happen in Mexicao or Columbia if necessary but not inside our borders.

Obama To Visit Disney World

Our Fruitcake-in-Chief is visiting Disney World this Thursday to promote tourism. People, my son, wife and three children visited the 'Enchanted Land' two months ago. Believe me, there is no reason to ask people to go to Orlando. It takes 45 minutes to get on one ride. I have an idea for Barry O. Why not stay in D.C. and work on something significant instead of raising funds and having ultra extended vacations. Can you only imagine what parents who are visiting Disney World the same day as our King must be thinking?

The Worst White House Aide

Unless you follow politics very few people have heard the name, Valerie Jarrett. She is the most trusted aide to the Obama's and has followed them from their earliest days in Chicago. Jarrett, with socialist ties, got her start with the Daley Machine. She makes big time money but no one is really sure what she does except 'advise'. It should be noted that she had was a confidant of Chicago crook and Obama friend, Antonin Rezko. Did I mention she was a slum lord? Had the Obama's secured the Olympics to Chicago her slum property would have been worth millions upon millions.
If you'd like further information on the woman who got Robert Gibbs, Rahm Emanual and William Daley fired from their jobs check out yesterday's speech given by her at the Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. You know, it was one of those speeches only democrats/liberals/communists can give in churches because they aren't political.
If you think she isn't considered special why does she receive secret service protection? But, then again, why are there so many White House Czars and how is it the American people voted communist for president in 2008?

College Majors

Doing my airport delivery job brought me in contact with some very interesting people. I delivered luggage to quite a few college students. One young lady was a citizen of mainland China but was studying at Ohio State. I asked her what her major was and she told me it was accounting. Call me stupid but I sort of figured China was light years ahead of what we did in schools when it came to math. She told me that OSU had a good reputation for this type of major. The same went for a young man from Beirut. That would be Beirut as in Lebanon. Just to show how naive I am I was more than surprised that the kid was blond haired and blue-eye. His major was computer science. "Don't you have computers in Lebanon"? I asked. "Yes", he said. "But Ohio State has one of the best computer science departments in the world. Egg on my face! I did shake his hand since I'd never met anyone from that country.
I happened to be watching Ohio State play a basketball game against the University of Indiana on Sunday. One of the Ohio State players, according to a TV announcer, was majoring in exploration. Well, what is an exploration major, anyway? Does he have to find his way from Wendys to the gym? What kind of job would an exploration major get? Maybe he'd look for oil or new lands or walk around the block looking for lost basketballs. This major needs further study. A lot of athletes major in general studies. I think this is one of those majors they take to get through school until the NBA comes a callin'.
The very best college class for athletes I ever heard of was a health summer school class for a kid named Andy Katzenmoyer who also played for the Buckeyes ten years back. He was quite the stud linebacker but was a couple credits short of being eligible to play. His assignment was to take three M&M's a day to simulate what an AIDS patient had to do. I don't think there was a final exam unless he had to eat an entire bag of the tasty morsels.
P.S. The Council Bluffs Cowboy came through for me on exploration majors. They are shiftless about their future and can't commit except when it comes to Saturday nights.

Politics Pays

Joyce Beatty is giving up a job at The Ohio State University that pays $326,000 a year as vice-president for outreach and and engagement(whatever the hell that is) to run for office as an Ohio legislator. The interesting aspect is the Ohio State base pay for her job is $86,000. Now, try and tell me how a state legislative position can pay the kind of cash this babe was pulling down. Why it's easy. She's a politician.

Canadian Prime Minister Meeting With China About Selling Keystone Oil

Nice going, Barack. Barry fiddled while Washington D.C. burned. If the Chinese take away much needed jobs(600,000) and Canadian oil you will have succeeded beyond the wildest dreams of your green crowd.

Why Are We So Dumb

Newsweek mag is coming out with an cover story titled: "Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb"? Gee, I don't know. It's probably because we don't like having a mulatto in office or maybe it's because we don't like his children. Golly gee whiz, I can't think of any reason not to like Emperor Barack I.

MLK Fought Against Democrats

It's frustrating knowing that Liberals have taken up the mantle of being the torch bearers for civil rights. Having lived through the 50's and 60's it's obvious people who vote Democrat have short memories or are completely bamboozled by their leaders.
It was Al Gore, Sr. who led the charge against Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King recognized this aspect of the civil rights movement. It makes no difference how many southern Baptist churces the likes of Hillary and Barack use for their own power. Truth lies in history.

"Hey Mr. Banana Man"

"Hey Mr. Banana Man play a song for me". This is a song, isn't it? You all know how obituaries fascinate me. Most of the obits I see come from the Quad-Cities in Iowa. As you might imagine this particular story caught my attention. Really now, what possess a man or his family to include this picture in a newspaper as a going away gift? I will give the guy some slack since his life employment was in the food industry. I do hope when I go to the great beyond my wife and children don't have me wearing a baseball uniform and holding up a catchers mitt.

You Will Never Hear Tim Tebow Speak Of This

So Charles Barkley has had enough of Mr. Tebow. Bill Maher, too. Maybe people who hate him have taken a long, hard look in the mirror and don't like what they see so this hatred satisfies their ego. Rick Reilly is an award winning writer; done a lot of things for Sports Illustrated. If you take the time to read beginning here you will learn a lot about Mr. Tebow and it has nothing to do with football, or praying or getting down on one knee after a touchdown. It's about what does for humankind without blowing his own horn.

John Edwards To Have Heart Surgery

Disgraced DEMOCRAT, LIBERAL, WOMANIZER, POLITICIAN, ADULTERER, John Edwards has had his trial postponed until March because of a life threatening heart problem. He was due to have surgery ASAP. I don't buy it since it is common knowledge that John-boy doesn't have a heart.

Go Ahead And Laugh--It's Cute

As you know if you read the blog I'm not into placing forwards in the column; only done it once before. But, this story(joke) is cute and comtemporary so enjoy.

So Tom Brady dies and goes to heaven, and God says to him "Tom you were one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and because you are special I'm giving you a house here in heaven It's not a big house but only very special people get houses in heaven."
Tom looked at his house and thanked God and he was happy. Then Tom noticed down the street on top of a big hill there was a mansion and it was painted Blue and Orange and had a large Denver Broncos flag flying out in front and upon further inspection he saw a Tim Tebow jersey painted on the front door.
Tom scratched his head and went to God and humbly asked him "God, you know I have won three Super Bowls and was MVP in two of them, so I have to ask you, why does Tim Tebow deserve a large house when I only get a small house.
And God explained "Don't be silly Tom, that's not Tim Tebow's house, that's My house."
