My 12 year old granddaughter in Cincinnati somehow got into hockey this year. She watches college and professional hockey on television and loves it. I'm not sure how this started because neither her mom and dad or brothers could give a whit.
Anyway, since Columbus has a professional hockey team and are trying to get in the playoffs I thought it would be fun for her to witness an actual game. I bought tickets(not cheap) to see the Blue Jackets play Nashville on March 14. It would have been a thrill for her not witnessing the game in front of the television but in front of 16,000 screaming fans.
As you probably know all NHL games have been cancelled due to the virus. Well, they're going to be played just not in front of fans. I'll get my money back, though. I bought her a Blue Jackets jersey. I'll return that one, too. What a shame.
I'll still watch the men's NCAA basketball tourney. They won't have fans, either. I'm waiting on Major League baseball to to make it's decision.
Golf is right around the corner. It's a great solitary game.
