What Came First, The Moron Or The Moron

There's a wonderful golf driving range in our old town of Westerville, Ohio. I first started going there in 1989 when it was in its infancy. The owner had a small shack to distribute balls and we could hit on any one of fifteen stations. Today, the place has 70 heated cubicles, 20 matts to hit from and 70 grassy areas along with sand bunkers, chipping and putting greens. In addition, the owner has built a fantastic miniature golf course. It can be a very fun place for all ages.

Yesterday, I walked in and put down my frequent hitters card. Oh, my obligatory mask was slightly down below my nostrils. The guy behind the counter, not an Einstein type, admonished me vociferously for my inattention to the government mandate. Being the kind of curmudgeon I have become I'm not one to let a dufus have the last word so I said, "Lighten up, Cowboy."(emphasis on the 'lighten' part).

I then picked up my basket of balls and headed to a cubicle. Just as I was about to take a swing I looked behind me and lo and behold I saw the counter guy. He must have taken my words 'lighten up' to heart since he was about to flame torch cigarette. The irony of it all is overwhelming.

New York City, under the leadership of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, announced COVID vaccines will now be distributed in the bowels of the city subway system. Have you ever been on the NYC subways? I might as well ask if you've ever been to a dumping ground in Mumbai, India. I have to wonder what it would be like receiving a dose of nonsense while dodging copulating rats. 

Do you watch the Golden Globes? I'm not really certain they are. There are the Oscars awards presented for movie performances. The Golden Globes might cover all aspects of entertainment but then again--who cares?

What I do know is that NBC cancelled it from their network and scads of phonies(I meant to write 'stars') have refused to attend. Tom Cruise has returned three of his Globes. The reason stated is the Board of Directors lacks diversity. Does Cruise mean that the Board didn't have any member of the Church of Scientology? Just askin'.

Perhaps, the cancelled show is due to another reason. The TV ratings would have been lower than a dead snakes head.
