Statue Of Liberty Is Canceled

The Statue of Liberty is a 'meaningless symbol of hypocrisy' because of America's history of racism, sexism and anti-immigrant sentiment, according to the Washington Post's art and architecture critic.

Philip Kennicott, a Pulitzer Prize winner, argued in an essay Saturday that the monument - which has stood for a century as one of the most iconic examples of American freedom - represented 'unfulfilled promises'.

He added that the statue was irrelevant to non-white Americans, using as evidence the absence of representations of the statue when he visited a Chicano art exhibit at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9754765/Washington-Post-writer-claims-Statue-Liberty-symbol-hypocrisy.html

I really think Kennicott is incredibly wrong on this. For example, I had a great aunt who has a child came to Ellis Island with her family. Sadly, she tested positive for measles so she and her mother were sent back to Germany until she became healthy. Her father and other siblings stayed in America. Now, take a look at Black slaves. Not a one of them was sent back to Africa because they had an disease. We let them all in and they loved us. Take that Maxine Waters. Land o' fire(Iowa phrase). Maxine's relatives should have been sent back for screwing up the gene pool.
