Anything With The Name Indian In It

In 1977 I taught at Mukwonago, Wisconsin High School. Their nickname was the Indians. It still is, but not for long. There are over 1800 students in this school and the name Indians has been around since the school was established in the 1920's. Indian tribes like this name. It maintains their identity. One person affiliated with Mukwonago complained to the school board and that august body buckled. To make a point I told one of my best friends who used to be their football coach that the new name should be The Turds. Who would be offended unless there's a country called Turdistan? Maybe the natives of Turdistan would enjoy being called Turds. The name Turds would be more acceptable in our society than Indians and that doesn't seem right.
I broke a pledge to never use Wikipedia but I wanted to look up the number of professional, college and high school teams with a mascot denoting some type of Indian or tribe, e.g. Braves, Seminoles, Chiefs, etc. You won't be surprised to learn that the name, Indian, is by far the most popular name of it's type and is primarily in our high schools. When I was in high school one of our conference members, Oskaloosa, had the nickname of Indians. These guys were flat out geeks and awful athletes. If I was an Indian I would have wanted my name dropped because these guys couldn't play marbles without breaking their fingers.
Remember Rodney King and his famous quote: "Can't we all just get along"? With liberals populating this country and the ever ending news cycles over names it ain't gonna anytime soon, especially when it comes to Indian nicknames.
It made me very happy to  read today that Dan Snyder, president of the Washington Redskins, told the Oneida Chiefs to take a hike when they demanded the Skins' change their name.
If the Indian tribes were smart they'd forget about nicknames and continue sticking it to the people at the gambling casinos. At these places they get their revenge every day and night.

Sharia Law A Part Of This Administration

If you happen to be a low information voter you've never heard of this bad guy. If you're a Dem you might have heard of him and don't give a damn what he says or thinks because, in reality, you're a socialist or worse.
Mohamed Elibiary is one of a couple of Islamic Sharia promoters employed by our Department of Homeland Security. And you still don't think Obama is a Muslim.

The Pottery Barn Must Be Racists

It never entered my mind that the Pottery Barn would be selling Halloween costumes.  I don't shop there so what do I know? Anyway, a couple of people stopped in and saw these Japanese outfits, raised a big stink about the lack of appreciation for diversity and forced the Pottery Barn to pull the outfits from their shelves. It's a good thing I'm not the company CEO. I'd have to tell the complainers to "Get bent".

Even Catholic Schools Are Screwed Up

A Calgary school’s decision to stop rewarding students for their academic achievements has reignited a long-standing and divisive debate over whether these award programs should remain in the classroom.

This month, St. Basil Elementary and Junior High School took the view that awards and ceremonies lose their lustre to winners and hurt the self-esteem of students who don’t get them

A Golden Oldie

I am so far ahead of the curve it sometimes frightens me. Two days ago I read a column in The American Thinker comparing Barack Obama with the character, Chauncey Gardiner, played by Peter Sellers in the movie, "Being There".
This column jogged my memory so I went back in the files and pulled up this blog from June of 2010.

Had enough? All you who jumped onto and stayed on the bandwagon aren't you about ready to throw yourselves under the bus? When will you stop making excuses? Only the most hardened of you can hang on and some are making gurgling sounds, or is it a death rattle? The thrill has left the leg of Chris Matthews. Maureen Dowd is making fun of his ears and Bill Maher has him on his crap list.
The Joe Sestak Scandal is so amateurish I could pull it off. One would think the Obama crew would've checked out the fact that Sestak wasn't even eligible for a supposed volunteer position before having Slick Willie jump into the fray with his fabrication.
Did you know there was an oil leak in the Gulf? Not a problem, though. The gang that can't shoot straight has set up commissions to study the situation. Commissions are code for, "we're clueless".
There is a very serious situation in Arizona. During the Nixon administration I warned my high school students that someday we were going to have real problems with illegal immigration. It's all come to a head. Our President makes jokes about it while the folks in Arizona want something done for protection from drug dealers, kidnappers and murderers. Our leader allows this country to be trashed by the President of Mexico before a joint session of Congress while the rule of law in the southwest is being ignored. Shameful, Indeed!
If it weren't so serious it'd be comical but this Obama clown is flat out incompetent. A guy with a zero resume' who has accomplished nothing in life. A fella who has surrounded himself with avowed communists and socialists in his administration. A President with zero business experience who has placed in his administration radicals with no business experience. He has surrounded himself with community activists. You are familiar with activists? They're social workers-----period!
Any American would be hard pressed to come up with anything positive Barack H. Obama has said about this nation. There has not been an utterance of anything patriotic. I've heard not one statement of pride in being a citizen(if he is) of the United States of America.
Eighteen months ago I compared Obama with the character of "Chance the Gardener" from the movie, Being There. "Chance the Gardener" was exactly that; a very simple man living a very simple life tending his flowers. The owner of his estate died and Chance is put on the street. Through a series of circumstances Chance is struck by the car of a rich couple from Washington D.C. They take him in to their home. He has impressed them with his, well, "pensiveness". The couple thinks his name is Chauncy Gardner and he is now surrounded by the movers and shakers of the world's power center. Chance had an IQ of 'functional' and couldn't carry on a coherent conversation. The D.C. elite become convinced he is one of them. In groups of people he says nothing of consequence and this gives the 'snooties' the impression that he is nothing short of brilliant; an intellectual listener and thinker. Long story short; Chauncy becomes President of our country. If you haven't seen this Peter Seller's classic you should. If you don't or can't watch the movie not to worry; we're living it today.

Obama in Boston, Lying Again.

As he speaks, I am watching the Phony-in-Chief give a speech on healthcare. Well, I'm watching and trying not to listen because his speech pattern drives me crazy. He's trying to be funny but doesn't cut it. Once again he's the folksy guy by dropping the g from ing words. "C'mon, Barry, you went to Harvard and Columbia. Act like you're a professional". He's telling the audience that young people can buy insurance for $50 or less, older people can get a policy for $100 or less and everyone's applauding as if he isn't lying. Whenever he does speak I don't look at him but focus on the stooges behind him. They're smiling and nodding in agreement. He's citing states who have already signed up massive numbers: Kentucky, Oregon, Arkansas. I have a question. How is it he can cite these big sign up numbers when none have been released?
Back to our friends, the nodders and smilers: I have a question for them, too. "How can you be so F'ing stupid".
He did it. He blamed the insurance companies for dropping people from their plans and the dimwits are sucking it up. Lemings to the cliff; that's what they are except for the protestors(hippies against the Keystone pipeline) who shouted out to him and were quickly escorted from the orchestrated speech. Here we are, four years after the passage of this law and this guy is still out there trying to sell it to the people.
In conclusion. Mr. President told the people the same thing about healthcare he's been saying all along, a bunch of lies.
