Emma Lazarus Lives On

Immigration to the United States began in earnest in the 1880's. It's when my ancestors came to this country but they had to meet conditions. There are no conditions today. Emma Lazaus penned a poem about immigration way back when and it hangs on the Statue of Liberty.

"A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

The population of the United States today is approximately 335 million. Guess what? The number of foreign born in this once great nation is now 49.5 million. I really don't think this is what Lazarus had in mind unless we take the words 'wretched refuse' literally. The number is growing by the thousands every month. Pity this once great country. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/11/30/foreign-born-population-hits-49-5-million-under-biden-largest-ever-american-history/

It Isn't Easy Being Catholic

Since civil unrest began on May 28, 2020, there have been at least 382 attacks against Catholic churches in the United States, including acts of arson which damaged or destroyed historic churches; spray-painting and graffiti of satanic messages; rocks and bricks thrown through windows; statues destroyed (often with heads cut off); and illegal disruptions of Mass. https://catholicvote.org/tracker-church-attacks/

Suddenly!

 This is becoming commonplace.

Reed Ryan, a college football player for the University of Minnesota-Duluth, died suddenly on Tuesday after collapsing during a workout.

The Next Cover-Up

A U.S. federal judge has just dropped the hammer on the FBI and ordered the bureau to hand over all evidence and files the agency has on former DNC staffer Seth Rich’s murder case.

27-year-old  Democratic National Committee (DNC) employee Rich was murdered on July 10, 2016, in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Rich died about an hour and a half after being shot twice in the back.

The perpetrators were never apprehended.

Police suspected he had been the victim of an attempted robbery but none of his possessions were taken. https://slaynews.com/news/federal-judge-gives-fbi-14-days-hand-over-evidence-seth-richs-murder-case/

There's going to be an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives and this time, after two failed votes for impeachment, the guy will most likely be found guilty. The person in question is George Santos(R-New York). I know absolutely nothing about the guy except from what I've read in the funny papers. What I did hear today was one of the reasons he's being impeached is because he lied about his resume' when he ran for office. Say what?

A Most Dangerous Dead Hostage

Every day brings fresh proof that Hamas will continue its atrocities until stopped.

The group’s latest enormity?

Handing off a 10-month-old hostage, Kfir Bibas, to another terrorist faction, with the obvious aim of wreaking extra pain on Israel and Jews worldwide — and then, the very day after revealing that, trumpeting claims that Kfir and his brother and mom got killed in an IDF shelling attack.

The FBI's War On Catholics

traditional Catholic family was allegedly “dragged out of their home at gunpoint, handcuffed and locked in a van” earlier this year after the FBI “goaded” their 15-year-old son to post  “offensive memes” online. The teen, a volunteer firefighter and altar boy, was then hospitalized on mental health pretenses, according to his father, Jeremiah Rufini.

The FBI’s aggressive “investigation” only resulted in a misdemeanor conviction against the boy for breach of peace, but financially devastated the family with substantial legal expenses.

The FBI targeted the boy as part of a sting operation catfishing traditionalist Catholic teenagers. https://amgreatness.com/2023/11/28/trad-catholic-family-dragged-out-of-home-at-gunpoint-locked-in-van-after-fbi-goaded-teen-to-post-offensive-memes-dad-says/

America's #1 Racist

This cute kid, a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, was vilified by a writer for Deadspin magazine for being a racist. The first problem with the article is the photo of the lad was taken from the side showing only one half of his face, the black side, while sporting the headdress.

So, the boy will be known for being something he isn't--a racist. I hope his parents sue until their bank account looks like Warren Buffet's. https://www.outkick.com/deadspin-blackface-child-frame-race-baiting-movement-chiefs-nfl/

Take It With A Grain Of Salt

Rosalynn Carter's funeral was held yesterday and the crowd was filled with super mega and even maga dignitaries. One of the was Melania Trump who caught holy heck from the Left wing media for not wearing a black top coat; the typical sign of mourning. Melania was sporting a top coat that was gray with black flecks--a herringbone type one.

This faux pas on Trump's part has further branded her a loser. I recall my dad's funeral in 1994. As I sat in the front row of the funeral home I turned to my left while his service was taking place and noticed a man wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt with a pack of cigarettes rolled up on his left sleeve. And I thought, "It was certainly nice of him to come."

An Unbelievable College Football Statistic

Another college football season is drawing to a close and for me, being a fan of anything Iowa, is was a special season. The Iowa State Cyclones from the Big Twelve were preseason picked to win one game. Playing mostly with freshmen and sophomores the Cardinal % Gold won seven games.

On the eastern end of the state the Iowa Hawkeyes finished the season with a record of 10-2 with an offense that was mostly, well, offensive. But, as the former general manager of the Oakland Raiders Al Davis said, "Just win, baby." And win they did. I haven't officially checked out a statistic from the Hawks as to whether it's an all-time record but I don't see a reason why it isn't. The defense, and this is more than amazing, gave up a total of two rushing touchdowns the entire season. One of these was on a run of two yards and the other from one yard out. Read that again.

The Hawkeye offense might put you in a coma but watching their defense perform is a thrill only true fans can understand.

Iowa plays Michigan for the Big Ten title this upcoming Saturday. If they win I'll dance naked on Main Street in downtown Dublin, Ohio at noon the next day. That's another way of saying, "It ain't gonna happen" but it's fun to contemplate.

Two touchdowns in twelve games. Who da' thunk it could happen?

Money, Money, Money

In listening to the Clay & Buck radio show this afternoon one of the hosts, I'm not sure whom, made a statement regarding the money spent on illegal immigrants this past year. Now, when figures rise above a million I slow down because that's when they become difficult to compute. Carrying on, one of the fellas stated the United States government, in 2023, will have doled out $454,000,000,000. In written words this becomes four hundred fifty-four billion dollars.

Since there are around 330 million people in this country the billion number works out to be $1,375.76 per person. Of course, when one takes into account children do not pay taxes the number for adults rises exponentially.

I'm certain there's a place in hell, for us folks who are allowing Joe Biden to commit treason by not following the Constitution of the United States by keeping the border closed.

Democrats Searching For Alternatives

Purchasing Automobiles Isn't Easy

I'm the first to admit I know little or nothing about cars--inside and out. When I was a teenager there were classmates of mine who would sit around and talk about car engines, about horsepower, about hemi's----whatever that was. I flat out wasn't interested. At that time if the conversation didn't revolve around basketball or baseball then the conversation was meaningless.

Like any normal red-blooded American in his seventies I've had my share of cars. My first was a 1968 Pontiac GTO purchased off the showroom floor for the grand price of $2,600. My dad loaned me the money and I repaid him $100 a month. Eight months later I met Her Majesty and nine months after that we had tied the knot. The Queen could not handle the 350 horse power of my heavenly chariot and I was forced to sell to be replaced by a Ford Falcon station wagon. Folks, with children coming within one year of marriage my world of owning cars has been all downhill, to say the least. After the Ford came a Datsun. It was a mobile casket. In case of an accident a toe tag would have come out of the dashboard. I called that car 'Hiroshima's Revenge'.

In 1988 I left education and took a job in sales. The company bought my vehicles for me. I fell in love with Buick LeSabre's for twenty years drove this very nice machine with an Oldsmobile 88 or two thrown in the mix. Since retirement my world of cars has centered around whatever was cheapest. For me, autos became a form of being able to get wherever I wanted to go at the least amount of price. The one I'm driving now is a Subaru Outbook. I purchased it from the wife six years ago at a good price.

In the past three months the Subaru has let me know it is now ready to go to the big parking lot in the sky. These past three days of searching the internet interspersed with trips to local car dealers to find a different vehicle tells me one thing. CARS ARE EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking at smaller SUV's and the sticker tells me if I buy a 2021 Subaru with 35,000 miles I'm going to be shelling out $25,000 at a minimum. I fully realize most of you reading this are laughing at me because you know about engines and horsepower and hemi's. I don't and the reason for this is because my mind is still living in the 1960's.

I'm a big believer in praying the rosary. Beginning tonight I'll push the beads hoping there's someone out there in this world for whom I did a good deed; A deed so good they're about to leave me their Mercedes Benz(or even a Chevrolet) when they pass on from this world. It's either that or I'll start hitchhiking because God did not intend for autos to cost more than the combined price of my first two homes.

Was Joe Drunk?

Biden stunned reporters when he claimed Hamas terrorists slaughtered 1,400 Jews in Israel last month because of a railroad he proposed at G20.

“Well I believe one of the reasons Hamas struck when they did because they knew that I was working very closely with the Saudis and others in the region to bring peace to the region by having recognition of Israel and Israel’s right to exist,” Biden said.

“You may recall when we did the G20…I was able to get a resolution…a statement passed through there saying we’re gonna build a railroad from Riyadh all the way through the Middle East, into Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc., and all the way up to Europe,” Biden said. “Not the railroad but the underground pipeline and then the railroad.” https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/11/after-hobbling-podium-biden-claims-hamas-struck-when/

60 Years Ago Today

It's a memory, that day, that seems so long ago. For most Americans reading about the assassination of JFK it would have the same impact as me reading about the death of Abraham Lincoln. I was curious as to how many Americans alive today witnessed the events of November 22, 1963. Surprisingly to me, if you were five years-old at the time there are still 55 million Americans who could recall the event. As was stated by one author at the time about the youthful president, "Johnny, we hardly knew ye."

It has only been in the past couple months that we are finding out the real truth about the JFK killer(s). What has happened is that the people have been given evidence to further mistrust the government due to their lies regarding his assassination. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/jfk-assassination-60-years-later-we-know-truth-about-real-killer

It's Alarming!

“I’ve never seen this before,” testified Dr. Kimberly Biss, an OB-GYN who has been involved in 8,000 pregnancies, before Congress in the “Injuries Caused by COVID-19 Vaccines” hearing Monday.

“How many of your patients or pregnant women that you know of experience miscarriages after taking the COVID-19 vaccines — or injections?” asked representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

Dr. Biss first explained that the vaccination rate among her patient population was about 60% and that most of the patients received three injections. “Very few received four or more.”

“What’s concerning,” detailed Dr. Biss, “is the majority of the patients received their injections in 2021 and early 2022. However, we’re still seeing lingering effects.” https://vigilantnews.com/post/ob-gyn-drops-alarming-miscarriage-data-before-congress-ive-never-seen-this-before

A Different Type Of Miss Universe

For some reason I already like this woman!

It Was Like A Jeep Trip Through Montana

If you're wondering about jeeps and Montana and what the heck this means I'll have to refer you to what a former company sales buddy said and what it means--I think. In his own way he was telling me some adventures have bumpy rides and so it was when my pooch, CeeCee, and I trekked across Interstate 70 from Dublin, Ohio toward Olathe, Kansas.

In the past couple months my Suburu Outback has had a fever of sorts. It began with a trip back home from Minnesota. As we neared Gary, Indiana(could there be a worse place) the service engine soon light came on but me, being ever the optimist, told myself the oil engine light was a figment of my imagination so I drove on. About three hours later, in Richmond, Indiana the car had a gigantic burp and I was forced to drive the last three hours to Dublin at 45 mph. The next day my vehicle service guru told me something about bearings and wheels and oil and all that jazz. I'm more than a numbskull when it comes to cars so I gave him the order; "fix it and how much is the bill?" After this I drove another two weeks when once again the service light glowed on my front dash. Back to the auto repair shop I went and was told I was down two quarts of oil. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I'd had the oil replaced only two weeks prior. Then, I was told an oil seal was broken. My response was, "fix it and how much is the bill?"

Yesterday, after we'd cruised along for three hours and nearing Indianapolis--------Yep. You guessed it. The oil light reappeared.

I don't know who first came up with the words, 'common sense' but I suspect we humans have the opportunity to make fateful decisions based on good or bad sense at least forty times daily. My suspicion is the bad outweighs the good by about 70% and this is when alcohol isn't involved. I, using my bad common sense told myself the glaring light was only a figment of my imagination so I drove another two hours to Terre Haute when good common sense intervened. Finding a Quik Lube I was told I was down two quarts. Considering it was only a few weeks ago I filled the oil pan to the brim my thought was "Uh Oh, I might need a new car. Either that or anticipate blowing an engine."

I then left town and took off and sped toward our landing spot for the night which was a Red Roof Inn in Columbia, Missouri. As an on the road salesman I'd stayed in these places probably 40% of the time. They were reasonably priced and clean and dogs stay free which I consider a bargain.

When I arrived at the motel I was told the price for the night would be only $61. To me this was a bargain. Common sense should have dictated another story. When I entered my room I noticed the security latch was missing. A bell went off in my head telling me, "oops! Something's not right but lacking common sense I quickly put that thought in the back room of my mental closet. Oh, there was no wifi, either. What motel doesn't have wifi----------unless.

An hour later, at 8 pm, I knew CeeCee needed her second BM walk of the day so as we were strolling along a man, around 40, approached me and asked, "Is that your support dog" and then he babbled incoherently about recently being released from a mental health center. My answer to him about the dog was, "Huh?" And then my eyes dropped down to his right hand and I'm asking myself, "Is he carrying a crack pipe?" Well, I made a quick skeedoo and walked around the corner of the motel to its back side. And before my wandering eyes what should appear but cooking grills in front of each motel room, clotheslines strung all about and bicycles, thirty or so, chained to a recently constructed Cyclone fence. It was then common sense should have dictated I put CeeCee in the car and we should hit I-70 while we were still breathing. But I didn't. Now, I understand the homeless need a place to stay and I fully know that the mentally ill also need to sleep. What I also know is I didn't want to die that night. Luckily for me CeeCee is still on daylight savings time so instead of rousting me out of her crate at six am she did it at five. At five fifteen we were in the car and on our way. You'd know I was serious about leaving quickly because I didn't stop to get a Red Roof cup of coffee. Me without morning coffee is like, well, it doesn't happen.

Leaving a trail of rubber in the Red Roof parking lot as I did showed, I believe, a great deal of common sense. Prove me wrong, please.
