A PSA From Your Hero

There's a story going around on how to avoid carjackings. I don't know how true it is but it's worth consideration especially if one is of a more feminine gender. Let's say you're at Walmart and when when you get in your car you look in the rear view mirror and see a sheet of paper on the back window. Then you get out of the car to either read or remove it. At this time a very naughty lousy criminal jumps in the front seat and drives away taking your vehicle and, if a female, your purse. There's simple way to solve the problem. Drive off. You can thank me later with a 'hi' MJ or by sending a check.

"Please, Please, Please, Can I Have A Passport?

'The Biden administration is set to launch a COVID passport that would track Americans that took the vaccine, despite warnings by civil rights advocates. “The Biden administration and private companies are working to develop a standard way of handling credentials — often referred to as ‘vaccine passports’ — that would allow Americans to prove they have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus as businesses try to reopen'. I'm praying this law is passed. I've always wanted to have the government know my every move.

There's Always A Jerk In The Crowd

I'm a sucker for heartwarming stories especially when dealing with kids. There are a number of videos around showing sportmanship toward an opponent. I recall one when a young girl with cancer who played on a college basketball team was allowed to enter a game at the end and make a basket. It was a beautiful thing.

In this video you will see a young boy, most likely around the age of ten. He's on the football field with high school boys. The lad lines up in the backfield and receives the ball from the quarterback and is promptly allowed to run for a touchdown. One can only imagine his parents sitting in the stands with tears of joy running down their cheecks as he sprints toward the end zone. Make certain you get rid of the mute so you can hear the announcer add to the excitement. Enjoy!  https://americasbestpics.com/video/1h8BKlVU8?s=e

"Golly, Were We Stupid Or What"

I didn't attend Woodstock in 1969. Know why? I had a job. Two hundred fifty thousand others did though. I wasn't into the 'Tune in, turn on, drop out' philosophy of the LSD guru, Dr. Timothy Leary. There's an interesting story to be told about the event, how it ended up where it did on whose property it was held.

Needless to say it was supposed to be an gathering requiring paid admission. It didn't quite work out that way. I do recall at this time the Hong Kong flu was rampaging the nation and the world. I was a recipient of the bug and was in a coma from December 16-20 in 1968. The death rate, based on the percentage of deaths, was higher then than what we have now yet the deaths barely caused a rumble in the media.

The heading on this picture stated the the people were sitting around peacefully. Whoever wrote this is being generous in their assessment. The was a geat deal of spit swapping and copulation. Signs were being passed out reading: 'I was conceived at Woodstock'. Kids today are clueless. My generation coined the phrase, 'Sex, Drugs And Rock 'N Roll'.

The Most Dangerous/Violent Cities In The World 2021

Naive is my middle name. If I would ask you to name what you think are the most danger/violent cities in the world to live what would pop into your mind? I'm talking the entire world mind you.

According to a source I got off the net(I'm almost certain there are others with differing cities) I was flabbergasted but then not. I gave it a few minutes consideration and immediately gave up on Russia, China, Indonesia, The Phillipines; all communist countries. Those governments have very strict laws-------they shoot offenders on the spot, no questions asked.

Well, here we go. Out of the top 25 Venezuela, Brazil and Mexico lead the way. Mexico has so many cities on the list I'm surpised all their people aren't dead by now. In the U.S. St. Louis and Baltimore led the way; not all that shocking. Finally San Salvador and Cape Town South Africa bring up the rear.

I didn't bother to look up the last 25. I was fearful for my life just reading the list. https://briefly.co.za/91981-50-dangerous-cities-world-2021.html

Ronald Reagan, The NRA, The Declaration Of Independence

In the event you forgot it was forty years ago today Ronaldo Magnus we shot by John Hinckley. As Mr. Reagan was about to undergo surgery he said to the doctor, "I hope you'e a Republican." The doctor countered with, "Mr. President, today we're all Republicans.

I'm fornuate in the fact I very much appreciated Mr. Reagan while he was in office. One time he was speaking before the NRA and there was one line in his speech we should all remember about guns and the Constitution. He said, "The Constitution does not say people have the right to keep and bear arms. It does say the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." That says volumes.

Those who signed the Declaration of Independence, in my opinion, were specifically placed on this earth by God to form the most perfect nation. For the most part the authors of Declaration were quite young. Thomas Jefferson was 26, Adams 33 when it was ratified. Jefferson at that youthful age authored the document. He initially placed in it that there be no slaves but southern signees were going to rebel so he left it out.  Another fact you might not know. On July 4, 1826, fifty years after the siging John Adams took his last breath. His final words were, "Jefferson outlives me." He did not know Jefferson had passed away five hours earlier.

For the fourth time in writing this blog I'm going to refer to a student of mine my first year in education. The year was 1968. The lad's name was Augie Blake. He was a good kid but only 15 in this history class and this explains much. One day he had the gumption to say out loud, "Why study history. There ain't no future in it." I'd really love to find Augie today and ask him if he remembers. He'd be 68 years of age. I enjoy research. I do believe I'll give it a shot.

No Commentary: It's An Observation

In Obama's first year in office, 68% of white Democrats described themselves as Christians, 7% claimed to be members of other faiths, and 24% said that they had no religious affiliation.

A decade later, only 47% of white Democrats call themselves Christians. 10% are members of other faiths, and 42% have no religion.

That was a Pew survey. The Gallup survey for church membership now is even worse recording the sharpest drop in membership among Democrats.

20 years ago, 71% of Democrats were members of a church. A decade later, in the Obama years, it fell to 60% and is now down to 46%.

That's the sharpest drop of any demographic group and a quite striking one. While religious affiliation has dropped across the board, the collapse among Democrats is striking.

Meanwhile, the Californication of the West continues apace with membership in the West dropping from 57% to 38%. https://www.frontpagemag.com/point/2021/03/democrats-had-sharpest-decline-church-membership-daniel-greenfield/

stray dog from eastern North Carolina can add "stealing our hearts" to his adorable rap sheet.

The determined one-year-old pup was taken into canine custody Sunday after breaking into a Dollar General in Duplin County not once but five times. Why? To steal a $10 stuffed unicorn.

"The store called and said they had a stray dog in the parking lot that kept coming into the store," Joe Newburn, department head for Duplin County Animal Services, told The News & Observer.

Don't fret. The puppy was named Sisi by the animal services, held for five days then adopted.
