Glad I'm Not The Only One

"I've Never Spoken To My Son About His Business"

A recently released tranche of archived Obama-era White House communications revealed that Hunter Biden's firm Rosemont Seneca exchanged more than 1,000 emails with his father then-Vice President Joe Biden's office. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hunter-bidens-firm-exchanged-1000-emails-joe-bidens-vp-office-records-show

Quote Of The day

"“There are still some deniers out there in terms of whether or not climate change had anything to do with any of this( hurricane), and we’re gonna need a whole hell of a lot more money!”

Joe, according to polls 4% of the people give a hoot about climate change. And by the way, the warmest decade in the history of the United States was the 1930's.

What's Up With The IRS?

When the corporate media asked the IRS why it needed automatic weapons, millions of rounds of ammunition and heavily armed staffers trained in the “use of force,” they said it was for “administrative reasons.”

But we now know that the globalists are not just arming the IRS, along with just about every other federal agency. They are militarizing these agencies to the hilt with military-grade weapons not available to American citizens.

Why, for instance, would the IRS need armored vehicles, flash-bang grenades loaded with tear gas, and .40-caliber submachine guns?

The IRS has been arming up for at least ten years. At the end of 2017, the IRS had 4,487 firearms and 5,062,006 rounds of ammunition in its weapons cache. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/08/hohmann-why-is-irs-buying-40-caliber-submachine/

Living Like A King

Can it be possible The Queen and I have had the Minnesota lake cabin for 29 years? The answer is a resounding YES, The reason I know is I subtracted my age of 48 when it was purchased with today's 77 and came up with the answer. This would have been impossible had it not been for the Nuns at Sacred Heart beginning with Sr. Mary Calasanctus in 1952 but, that's another story for another time.

A couple of days ago I was looking out of our bay window watching Her Majesty prepare a spot for me in front of the lake alongside our fire pit. Back in '94 I could never envision myself sitting idly in a lounge chair watching birds of all stripes fly overhead, wondering when the next big wave would hit the shoreline or casually watching ants skitter around looking for items to carry back to their next. No, in previous years I needed to be entertained be it driving off to the golf course or getting ready to jump in my boat and seek out the elusive walleye------and on this 5,000 acre lake I do mean elusive.

I had mentioned to a couple of friends and even to The Queen that I could become accustomed to this lifestyle. The one when what I do best is rest. And when I've tired of that I'll go into the cabin, eat lunch then go back outside and rest some more.

I even mentioned to the She gal that I would consider moving up here permanently from our Ohio home. Here's what I do best in our Dublin condo. I sit around looking at the computer and then every couple of hours take the pooch for a walk then return to my man cave and repeat the process. I could do that here. There would be less violent crime in the north woods and a thousand fewer stop lights to contend with on a daily basis when I do venture out amongst the living. And if there is a criminal looking to wreak havoc on us it's so difficult finding our place he'd have to hire a guide to find me.

I'll have to give this moving thingy some serious thought. Whoops! I gotta stop writing. A hummingbird just flew by and it needs my full attention.

Missed A Record By A Fin

Do you fish? I mean, do you really like to fish? I'd say my first foray into the world of fishing came when I was about five years old and my dad took me to a place called Wall Lake slightly north of Ames, Iowa. We didn't have much in the way of gear and certainly couldn't afford a boat. I have a photo of me smiling at the camera as I sat on the shoreline trying to snag an elusive bullhead. That gives you an idea of how much my dad knew about the sport. If you don't know a bullhead has the appeal of catching nightcrawlers and they taste like, well, nightcrawlers.. As for exotic fishing the bullhead is in next to last place behind a gar filled with cancer.

When we bought our Minnesota lake place in 1994 I thought I'd go full bore with the sport and over the years I've accumulated so much fishing gear I could rival any Bass Pro Shop for equipment. Don't get the idea I know what I'm doing, either. Just because I have the gear doesn't mean I'm an expert. I could buy the most expensive baseball glove in the world but that doesn't mean I'd automatically become another Sandy Koufax.

This brings to mind my one and only claim to fame when it comes to being an angler. In 2004 I was with a friend and we decided to put his boat in the water at Long Lake which is eight miles to the west of our Ten Mile Lake. We were trolling the shoreline when I snagged what I thought was a log and started reeling in while cursing a blue streak. When i finally got the object to the boat I saw it was a largemouth bass, a very large one at that. Well, as soon as it was landed the other guy said we should take it into town and have it measured since we didn't have that item in the boat; the tape measure I mean. And we didn't have a live well, either, which means the big fella was pretty much doomed.

So, we headed to Swanson's Bait Shop in Hackensack, had its dimensions taken then headed out to a taxidermist. And all the while I never gave it one thought that I might have a state record. For one thing, when I watched fishing shows on television and a guy snagged a monster the fish would be jumping in the air and the guy holding the rod would be screaming, "Holy crap, look at the size of that there critter." The only thing I said was, "I think I've caught a damn log."

Two nights ago I was sitting in our sun room in our cabin looking at that fish on the wall and began wondering about Minnesota state records. I do know when it was first weighed it came in at 8 lbs. and 4 oz. That's all I remembered. I then got a tape and measured its length and girth. The former was 21.4" and it's girth rounded out at 16". For Minnesota this is huge because the state record largemouth was caught in '05 and its weight was 8.15 oz, The length was 23.12" and had a girth of 18". So, the way i figure is my fish has to be in the top 5 of all largemouth bass caught in Minnesota. Do you know what this means? It means absolutely nothing except when people come to our cabin they can look at it and say, "That's nice."

Just so you know I'm not telling a fish story I thought I'd put its picture in this blog for posterity. And in case you wonder what I used for bait it was a Fat Rap made by Rapala.

Mask Up Everybody

The government is gearing up to force the people to wear masks-----again. Here's what we know about these pieces of junk. They don't work. There is one, however, that does and it's called the N95 mask. They're expensive at $15 dollars apiece but are good for only 24 hours. This, in itself, is a winner for government officials because they'll spend gazillions to prop up the manufacturer. According to news reports from yesterday there's a problem, a big problem, with these masks. They' re cancer inducing. If you don't believe me then ask the mice who were the guinea pigs for testing.

Not to worry, though, because the general population will jump on the mask bandwagon of covering their faces. How do I know this? Well, I saw it first hand in Bloomington, Minnesota this past Saturday. When we left Ohio for the Gopher State I realized I'd left my phone charger in a secure spot--------our bedroom. So, being the kind of guy whose irresponsibility fuels the economy I stopped at a Best Buy adjacent to I-494 in the Twin Cities area. As I walked into the store I really, really knew I was in Minnesota. Every single employee, sans three or four, had there faces covered. I immediately applauded myself for not blurting out, "What the hell is the matter with you people?" It's taken 77 years for me to arrive at this level of maturity but good things come to those who wait-------or something like that.

Another Whopper From Joe

President Joe Biden made a false claim on Monday when he said that he “literally” convinced former Dixiecrat Sen. Strom Thurmond (SC) to vote for the Civil Rights Act.

Strom Thurmond, who switched to the Republican Party after years as a Democrat, voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 before Joe Biden had entered politics, being that he was just 21 years old at the time. Strom Thurmond also died in 2003, many decades after the passing of civil rights. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/08/28/biden-falsely-claims-convinced-strom-thurmond-vote-civil-rights-act/

More Government Trickery

Nearly 99 percent of 'Covid deaths' reported by the CDC each week are not primarily caused by the virus, official data shows.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Covid dashboard shows just 1.7 percent of the 324 Covid deaths registered in the week ending August 19 had the coronavirus as the primary cause of death.

The figures suggest just a handful of American lives are being lost directly to the virus each week.  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-12453329/99-PERCENT-Covid-deaths-not-caused-virus-official-data.html

Who's Calling The Shots

The best way for Joe Biden to maintain any semblance of leadership is for him to hide out which begs the question, "Who is calling the shots?" Is it Barack Obama or a number of DC elites in concert?

“President Joe Biden just took his 367th day of vacation in just 2.5 years, which sets a record compared to any other president in history." He has taken vacations 40% of his presidency. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2023/08/two_presidents_two_disasters_two_narratives.html

The Cause Of The Maui Fire

Officials in Maui have identified the cause of the recent devastating wildfires, directly contradicting the Democrats’ narrative that “global warming” was to blame.

A court filing alleges that Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) and its subsidiaries failed to properly power down live electrical equipment amid a red flag windstorm earlier this month.

Due to this failure, downed power lines operated by the utility company sparked a series of deadly fires on the island, the lawsuit claimed. more here

It's A Sad Story

According to the producers of The Blind Side the Tuohy family and Michael Oher shared $760,000 dollars total. What a sad story for all. https://www.foxbusiness.com/entertainment/blind-side-producers-divulge-how-much-money-michael-oher-tuohy-family-actually-made-film

Why Is This Not A Major Story

There are still no answers from the FBI on why they found it necessary to raid the home of a 100% disabled US veteran and shoot him dead on the morning of August 16th.

Theodore Deschler was shot and killed when FBI agents raided his home near Henderson, Tennessee.

Now Deschler’s family are looking for answers. There is still no news from the government on why they had to break out the windows, toss smoke bombs into the home, and then shoot Deschler who was unarmed at the time. When Dreschler's mother asked the FBI why she was told it's none of your business. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/08/its-none-your-business-fbi-refused-tell-mother/

The Vaxx Mandate

I know some folks who when told to do something do the exact opposite in order to be their own boss. As an example, when states made laws saying its citizens had to wear seat belts quite a few decided to buck the order my dad being one of them but that's another story.

Did you know there's a new and better vaccine coming down the pike and this is from the horses mouth; "I can force everyone to take the shot" and that horse is none other than Joe Biden. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/saraharnold/2023/08/27/biden-suggests-he-will-mandate-a-covid-booster-for-all-americans-n2627591

Here Come Da' Judge, Comrade

The judge assigned to former President Trump’s multiple indictments stemming from his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election is the scion of a family of revolutionary Marxists in her native Jamaica.

Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, an Obama appointee, is the granddaughter of Frank Hill, a Jamaican communist revolutionary, who along with his brother Ken were briefly jailed by the island’s British governor during World War II over suspicions of “subversive activities.”

Hill is the father of Noelle Hill, Judge Chutkan’s mother, public records show.

Frank, along with his brother Ken Hill, and fellow comrades Richard Hart and Arthur Henry, were expelled from the People’s National Party of Jamaica for espousing communist views, according to local Jamaican media. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/judge-in-trump-jan-6-case-is-scion-of-marxist-revolutionaries/ar-AA1fObLx

Presidential Speeches In Times Of Crisis

Down through our history there have been times of great horror and tragedy. There are presidents who spoke to give reassurance to the people to untie us. Most of the material in this was borrowed from a fella named Glenn Beaton. He's a conservative who for some reason spends his days in Aspen Colorado. He's one of my hero writers so give him a look see.

Some examples are:

“The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.” Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg

FDR following Pearl Harbor: “Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”

Ronald Reagan following the space shuttle Challenger: “The crew of the space shuttle Challenger honored us by the manner in which they lived their lives. We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for the journey and waved goodbye and ‘slipped the surly bonds of earth’ to ‘touch the face of God.’”

Joe Biden after the Maui fire: “I don’t want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, what it’s like to lose a home. . . . To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette, and my cat.”

What To Do With A Traitor

Despite years of Biden family and media disinformation, we are finally learning that President Joe Biden really did fire Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin for looking into state corruption involving the oil company Burisma and Hunter Biden -- and ultimately Joe Biden himself.

As vice president, Biden, in his own words, bragged that he had threatened to cancel the deliverance of American foreign aid to Ukraine unless Shokin was dismissed.

So what is Congress to do now -- un-impeach and exonerate an innocent impeached Donald Trump, and instead impeach a guilty Biden for essentially the same allegations?

After all, the Left redefined the impeachment bar in 2019 as leveraging foreign aid to Ukraine to benefit one's political career.

And that is exactly what Joe Biden did to ensure his son could continue to raise millions for the Biden family with foreign governments while being shielded from political consequences. https://townhall.com/columnists/victordavishanson/2023/08/25/column-n2627506

Below are 16 lies from Joe Biden regarding Hunter's business:

1) August 28, 2019

Joe Biden: “First of all, I have never discussed with my son, or my brother, or anyone else, anything having to do with their businesses, period. What I will do is the same thing we did in our administration. There will be an absolute wall between the personal and private, and the government. There wasn’t any hint of scandal at all when we were there. And I will impose the same kind of strict, strict rules. That is why I have never talked with my son or my brother, or anyone else in the distant family about their business interests, period.”

Do you recognize this singer from the days of your youth? She was one of the most popular singers of the 1950's and 60's. Her name is Connie Francis. She's now 85 and that doesn't seem right

Do you remember? Maybe this will help.

Ten Reasons To Vote Democrat

#10. I vote Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my German Shepherd.

#9. I vote Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon at 15% isn't.

#8. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

#7. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

#6. I vote Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I am also thankful that we have a 911 service that gets police to your home in order to identify your body after a home invasion.

#5. I vote Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy.

#4. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, free education, and free Social Security benefits, and we should take away Social Security from those who paid into it.

#3. I vote Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrat Party sees fit.

#2. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

And, the #1 reason I  vote Democrat is that I think it's better to pay $billions for oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher, lizard, or fish here in America. They don't care about the beetles, gophers, lizards, or fish in those other countries.

On The Road

It's been four years since I made the trip to our lake place outside of Hackensack Minneosta. There's no special reason for me not going except the 17 hour drive doesn't turn me on as it did when we first bought the place in 1994. Her Majesty goes up in July for a month. I'm guessing because she needs a break from moi and it is her own special Fortress of Solitude.

The main reason I decided to travel to the north country is to bring back all the junk I've left there over the years and to also visit with long time friends and acquaintances. I'd like to go fishing but I'm not certain there are any in Ten Mile Lake. At least that's the modus operandi from my past experiences.

A friend sent me a picture of our home taken this past May 18. As you look at it think about what winter would be like. I remember the time The Queen suggested we spend the month of December at the place. Hah! Fat chance of that.

We'll be gone for two weeks so if a world catastrophe takes place during time don't count on hearing about it from me. I might be too busy shoveling.

A Tower Of Lies

There are a plethora of strange things going on in this country and the people are accepting them without question. I'm sure some folks who read this blog consider me a conspiracy theorist because, gasp, I don't accept government explanations as gospel. For example:

'It’s a world in which a bogus “vaccine” that cures nothing and prevents nothing is not only distributed and promoted, but raised to the level of the near-compulsory, while treatments known to work are not only prohibited, but functionally criminalized. And something that has become commonplace in the past two years is the term 'died suddenly' and we are seeing more and more of these tragedies and it's 'verboten' to offer an opinion out of the mainstream. https://nypost.com/2023/08/23/stan-van-gundys-wife-kimberly-dead-unexpectedly-at-61/

It’s a world in which a police riot that killed three innocent civilians is characterized as an “insurrection,” while several hundred bystanders – most of them easygoing, middle-aged, law-abiding-by-habit heartland dwellers – are arrested and jailed on spurious charges and kept in conditions that would have appalled Henry Wirz*.

Do you accept the total story of the how's and wherefore's of 9/11? I don't but the great percentage of the population do and it's scary. I remember when I told a former classmate I wasn't going to receive the Covid vaccine. Their only response to me was, "You're a damn fool." I look back on this statement and laugh. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2023/08/trump_and_the_tower_of_lies.html

The Government Murdered Their Own People

As flames tore through a West Maui neighborhood, car after car of fleeing residents headed for the only paved road out of town in a desperate race for safety.

And car after car was turned back toward the rapidly spreading wildfire by a barricade blocking access to Highway 30.

One family swerved around the barricade and was safe in a nearby town 48 minutes later, another drove their 4-wheel-drive car down a dirt road to escape. One man took an dirt road uphill, climbing above the fire and watching as Lahaina burned. He later picked his way through the flames, smoke and rubble to pull survivors to safety.

But dozens of others found themselves caught in a hellscape, their cars jammed together on a narrow road, surrounded by flames on three sides and the rocky ocean waves on the fourth. Some died in their cars, while others tried to run for safety.

The police blockaded the only way out. The only people to survive there were the people who were smart enough to realize that the authorities had no idea what they were doing. https://hotair.com/david-strom/2023/08/23/disobeying-the-authorities-saved-their-lives-n573145

The Difference Between Cats & Dogs

Our Deadly Racist Highways

I get a kick out of so called news reporters and their social agendas specifically when it comes to perceived racism. Silly me. I don't get a kick. I'd like to kick them.

I read a news account today from WOWT-TV in Omaha, Nebraska courtesy of the Council Bluffs Cowboy who lives on the other side of the Missouri River from Omaha in Iowa. The reporter of this story stated the following in regard to minorities having a high death rate due to Omaha's lack of safe highways in low economic areas :

“If you’re a Black road user in Omaha you’re almost two times more likely to die in a traffic crash than if you are a White road user.

Black and African American community members make up about 12% of Omaha’s population, but they account for about 22% of the fatal crashes in the last 10 years in the metro. That includes those who are driving, biking or walking. (The writer made a blanket statement and left it at that with no underlying causes).

It’s a similar story for an even smaller community in Omaha; the Native American population. Although they’re just 1% of Omaha’s population, they account for 3% of fatal crashes."

I think I'll be snarky and suggest that maybe these deaths are the result of driving under the influence of crack cocaine or Thunderbird wine but I won't say that because it would be mean and blatantly racist.

Well, you know how I am----------a guy with a mean streak, so I wrote the author of this piece suggesting she do a follow up story. In the United State Blacks make up approximately 13% of the total population. Obviously, male Blacks come in at about or around 6.5% of that number. I suggested the author of her drivel do some research to find out why the 13% commit 52% of all murders in the good 'ol racist USA. Could it be they're so frustrated at dodging potholes the need for retribution by killing others is the defining cause. Either that or they're on crack cocaine----or whatever.

I remember when it was a badge of honour to be a so-called journalist. Not any more. What hath though wrought, Dan Rather? https://www.wowt.com/2023/08/23/6-your-side-data-shows-omaha-roads-more-deadly-people-color/

Denouncing The Puppet Masters

Some things that don't make sense are tolerated with no explanation necessary. I'm sure you've heard that Joe Biden has promised each family in Maui who lost a home and loved ones will be paid the magnificent sum of $700 to get them back on their feet. Forget for a moment the billions forked over to Ukraine with no accountability. That's another subject. What should be considered is that working folks who have paid into social security their entire lives receive $1,100 a month. So, $700 plus $1,100 to some pales into comparison to the $2,200 paid out each and every month to illegals in this country.

Don't blame Joe and his liberal ilk for this nonsense only. Put the onus where it belongs: on the backs of our politicians of all stripes and the ignorant voters who put them in office.
