I read an article today from an East Coast sportswriter and about one particular woman who has changed his mind about girls---er, uh, woman's basketball. In essence, it could have been written by me because, up until last year, there was no bigger sports chauvinist than I. I've mentioned Caitlan Clark, the superstar phenom from the Iowa Hawkeye basketball team, a couple times in the last 12 months. I'm ga-ga over her talent on the court and not just as a shooter. She does it all: scoring, passing, rebounding and defense. I've circled my television watching calendar hoping to catch her next game and the one after that and after that one, too.
Anyway, read this one man's thoughts about how his perceptions on the female sport has changed his thinking then watch the lady play a couple times and see if you're not hooked on her ability as am I.
I feel fortunate because every time I witness her skills I always say, "It's great to be a Hawkeye." https://www.pennlive.com/sports/2024/01/for-the-first-time-ever-the-nations-most-famous-college-athlete-just-might-be-a-woman-jones.html?fbclid=IwAR0hAW5qSRM5qfEM3Y37cYjcF1FUISie460KG54IVsto0a-KqD9lXSELxRc
If you've never seen an action clip of Clark take a peek at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yujMnJBBJYk
