Football Coach Fired For Racist Tweet

Six months or so ago I jumped onto Facebook to see what my students from the 70's and 80's were up to. I made contact with some and they didn't tell me to piss up a rope which was surprising.

In lieu of the latest events regarding social media; how they impacted the election I'm off Facebook. I was never on Twitter or Instagram. I wasn't that interersted in trying to figure out how to sign up.

I've often wondered how many wars were started in the history of mankind because some leader was under the influence of a drug or alcohol. I'd wager there's more than one. Along these same lines there are a number of people who have been fired from their jobs in recent weeks due to posting political thoughts.

A Deputy Sherrif in Franklin County Ohio was fired yesterday for tweeting out a message blaming the riots on Trump and the folks who practice white privilege who are his followers. The reason given for his dismissal was he was inciting negative action.

This past Thursday Rush Limbaugh stated Trump's temporary ban from Twitter would soon be permanent. It took 24 hours.

Apple has given Parler, the social network favored by conservatives, an ultimatum to implement a full moderation plan of its platform within the next 24 hours or face expulsion from the App store.

The “Walk Away” movement has been flushed down an Orwellian “Memory Hole” at Facebook. Founder Brandon Straka, his team, and his 500,000-strong Facebook page with citizens who abandoned the Democratic Party were purged from the site this week.

A corporate lawyer from Arizona attended the rally in D.C.. He took a selfie and published it. The consequence was he was fired by his firm.

Josh Howley is a Republican senator from Missourt and an ardent Trump supporter. He had signed a contract the the book published Simon & Schuster to write about Big Tech. For the good of mankind or so said Simon & Schuster they broke the contract.

Finally, and I got a kick out of this, I took a blurb out of the American Thinker about the asst. football coach from the Univ of Chattanooga relieved of his position for the following racist tweet:

'The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga fired an assistant coach after he posted a tweet disparaging former Georgia gubernatorial candidate and activist Stacey Abrams, the school announced in a 45-second video.

Chris Malone, who was an offensive line coach for the Mocs, smeared Abrams while peddling election fraud claims in a now-deleted tweet Tuesday night.

"Congratulations to the state GA and Fat Albert @staceyabrams because you have truly shown America the true works of cheating in an election, again!!! Enjoy the buffet Big Girl!! You earned it!!! Hope the money is good, still not governor!" he said, according to screenshots of the tweet.'

I don't agree with the firing of any of these folks. They were expressing their opinion as granted by the Bill of Rights. I'm sure money or the lack thereof had much to do with it. Bad press leades to losses in revenue.

I looked closely at the football tweet and tried  to understand the racist part. Was she smeared? She is slightly overweight, isn't she. Bill Cosby made a fortune off of Fat Albert--Hey, Hey, Hey! Many of us enjoyed the buffets before the pandemic. Ever hear of The Golden Corral? Ever see the kind of people who frequented these places?

All this falderall is enough to make a guy start to drink--------a lot. It's a good and wonderful thing I don't know how to do social media.
