"All I Want Are The Facts, Ma'am"

 There are 331,002,651 people living

in the United States as of July 1st, 2020. Of those 331 million, there have been, as of yesterday, 5,340,232 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

That is approx. 1.6% of the total population. One point six persons per one hundred. NOT a high percentage.

I know that that is a big number, and it is, but here's the smaller number that relates to that:

There have been a total of 168,696 deaths attributed to the virus. Out of 331 million people, that means that basically one person out of every 2,000 people in the country has died, supposedly, of the virus.

So, basically we've shut down the economy not only of the United States but of the world for this.

Good way to put this pandemic in perspective.
Plus I am impressed with this history teacher's math skills.
