If you told young people today about the 'olden days' of the 1980's they'd laugh but not so much because of our fashion statements and the TV shows we watch but due to the changing mores. You old-timers know what i'm talking about.
For instance, in these modern times single parent households are more the norm. Try this on for size: nuclear families are nearing the point of what we could call non-existent. In forty percent of White homes will you find a mom and dad. For Hispanics the number is fifty percent and if you happen to be a Black kid your chances of having both a mom and dad at home------well, seventy percent of Black homes have only one parent.
