Being Black Wouldn't Be So Bad

You might be familiar with the young black woman in Chicago exclaiming the riots and looting of Nike's, expensive clothes, etc. was good. He reasoning was it's a part of reparations. So be it.

I'm old enough to remember Lyndon Johnson's Great Society and his war on poverty. Basically, the law was passed on the backs of the citizens who were made to feel badly for not doing enough to make black lives better.

Ho hum, I was only age 19 years old when these bills became law. All I cared about was getting enough money to put gas in the car and come up with college tuition money.

I'll say it now and disagree if you want. Blacks have been receiving repartions since Johnson's War on Poverty was implemented to the tune of $22 trillion dollars and counting.

Free this and free that. Good gosh. Affirmative Action has been a blessing to blacks. It was divulged this week that whites and Asians have been discriminated against when it come to entrance into Yale. If it happens at Yale why not the rest of the Ivy League schools?

Some of you may remember what I wrote about Affirmative Action a few years ago. In 1975 I was in line for a job with the Iowa Bureau of Investigation. According to a guy already in the organization I was a shoo-in. I waited a few months and called the Bureau. I wasn't in. I was out. Later I found out I was passed over because a Black femail needed to be hired. I guess I was lucky. Today, it would have been a lesbian black female.

So, let me repeat. Blacks have been receiving reparations for sixty years. This is too bad. 13% of their population commits 52% of the violent crimes. Single parent homes have gone from 13% to 70%. 68% of black women have had abortions.

Money isn't everything.
