Predicting The Election And Other Stuff

I found it necessary to drive all over Columbus in the last three days. I've noticed many Biden yard signs and none for Trump. I was in Bexley, Ohio on Thursday. Bexley is a very affluent suburb that buttresses up next Columbus on the east side. I must have seen five or six Biden front yard signs in front of mansions.

Then it hit me. Bexley is dominately Jewish and they have voted strongly Democrat for years.

This morning I motored to the near north side of downtown Columbus to a store called The Flag Lady. Our flag was in tatters. Anyway, I must have seen ten Biden signs, a few more Black Lives Matter ones along with a couple of rainbow flags.

For a fleeting second I wondered why I'm not seeing Trump signs. Then the answer smacked me across the nose. Would anyone in their right mind put any kind of Trump logo on their property unless they wanted to file for property insurance?

Oh, about the prediction. I don't have one.

God bless the little things in life. Our night time temperatures have been in the mid 50's. The plan worked; open the sliding doors of our bedroom that face west and feel that cool autumn breeze. I even got out a light blanket. It was heaven.

My boy Charlie has learned quite a bit in the year and a half he's been ours. I can point in a direction and say, "Over here" and he goes. That's a biggie.

One has to golf to understand this one. I'm getting pretty good hitting on the range. The course is another problem. The old saying is "the longest walk in golf is from the range to the first tee." Golfers know what I mean.

Got the news today that the MAC college football conference has canceled all games for this fall. This is huge. The MAC includes Miami of Ohio, Bowling Green, Akron, Toledo and a host of others. You'll know by late this afternoon but the Big 10 Athletic Directors are meeting to decide on whether or not there will be games this fall. If they don't then one can count of the rest of the country following suit.

I'd like to get off my bulbous butt and do something but creativity is not one of my best talents. I've already taken Charlie for a ride.

I was thinking this morning how much I miss attending Mass. Watching on the computer doesn't have the same feel.

The Queen is takikng this mask thing to heart. Two nights ago she said she like to go out and get an ice cream cone. I backed out of the garage. She got in with a mask on. I shut off the engine and gave her the look. The mask came off.

I may have mentioned this but if I did I'll do it again. My regualr readers know how much I enjoy the Hallmark movie channel possible because one doesn't have to be Einstein to understand the plot; boy meets girl, a relationship ensues, then a problem arises and they break up, then in the end they reconcile and share the one and only kiss in the two hour movie. Well, the Hallmark executives have decided to now have films with  LGBTQ themes. So, I'll have to write this channel off. I've boycotted so many products, movies, personalties, etc. it's too many to count. I was talking to a longtime friend who says he's a Republican but actually isn't who told me I shouldn't be this way. He said, "you'll never be able to attend a movie again." Evidently, he's never heard of faith based films. I've seen Robert De Niro rant on videos about Trump. Whoever taught him to swear did one heck of an A+ job.

Enjoy the week-end
