Olivia de Havilland passed away at age 104 last week. She was the last suriviving member of the movie, Gone With The Wind, among many other classics that came out of Hollywood in their Golden Era.
I read a wonderful story about her in the National Review this week. At age 24 and a newibe in Hollywood this emigree' from Great Britain heard rumors that Hollywood was being controlled by communist influentials. This was during WWII and she became greatly concerned. There were groups purporting to be anti-communist and she joined one only to find out it had been infriltrated by the commies. She was appalled and went to her friend Ronald Reagan to gain his services to combat this disease.
Together they formed another group to ferret out the traitors. Her and his work led to further actions to bring these people to justice.
And to think it all began with a 24 year old young lady. Remarkable.
