It was on September 17 1787 our Constitution of the United States was ratified. As a history instructor of high school students I always emphasized the importance of this document.
I would like for all of you to read the preamble. Do you have questions?
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
What happened to 'We the people'? Doesn't it seem to you we have no say in this government.
