A California school that witnessed a mass-shooting in 2019 has banned its football team from displaying a pro-police flag at games after complaints the emblem is racist.
In September, William S. Hart Union High School District Superintendent Mike Kuhlman decreed that the thin blue line flag representing support of police could no longer be carried on to the field by Saugus High School's Centurions football team in Los Angeles County.
Saugus High School's football team ran out without their flag for the first time on Friday - although many families outraged by the ban waved it from the stands.
The flag is a black and white Stars-and-Stripes, complete with a single blue line to denote support for cops.
It has a special meaning to the Saugus community after a mass shooting at the school in November 2019, which saw two young students murdered, and the 16 year-old gunman shoot himself dead. Off-duty cops were among the first to arrive on the scene, and were credited with saving wounded victims from dying. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11295941/California-high-school-bullied-removing-blue-line-flag-football-games-woke-mob.html
