Impeachment charges were filed against Donald Trump because an inquiry reported that he withheld military aid and an invitation to the White House to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in order to influence Ukraine to announce an investigation into Trump's political opponent Joe Biden.
In recent developments from this past week Joe Biden said he will stop giving military aid to Saudi Arabia unless they lower the cost of oil before the election.
