On Friday in Iowa, Beto O’Rourke lamented “the disparity in wealth accumulation between white America and black America” and spoke favorably about a proposal to give infants a “baby bond” of hundreds of thousands of dollars at birth.
I'm assuming the bonds would go to black children. What if the kiddies are multiracial? Is their bond lessened. Aren't brown children as important as blacks? What about Native American babies born on reservations? Don't they deserve massive amounts of wampum?
Why not do the same for kids born in Appalachia? There many Hatfield and McCoy kids who exist on powdered milk and green peas.
The bigger question is whatever happened to LBJ's billions given out to build a Great Society; the one that has thrown down the tubes $60 billion for the 'War on Poverty'?
