A Small Blessing

I've said it before. People are good even though we're often times too quick to criticize.

Today I took Charley to a new park in Dublin. There's a monstrous fishing hole and a hill so high I needed oxygen to get to the top. At it's apex are three metal rabbits dancing. They are at least twelve feet in height.

I let Charley do his thing and I sat down on the tail of one of the rabbits. A half hour later we headed out for home.

Around three hours after I searched for my smart phone. No luck. I have an extra in my glove compartment but the only place I'd visited today was the park so hoping against hope I headed out.

As I climbed the hill there was a glimmer of light on the tail of the rabbit. "You don't suppose," I told myself. As I got closer I saw the phone. Considering my humungous butt hung over the entire tail the phone had to fall on the pavement. I said a powerful prayer thanking for that kind soul who saved me time and money.

And a pox, still, on the person who kept my AM FM radio headset at the golf driving range three weeks ago.
