When businesses in large metro areas close donw that's one thing. When it occurs in small town America that's alicannother. I'm prejudiced about my hometown of Boone, Iowa with it's 12,000 citizens.
The Boone Pizza Hut, 1608 S. Story St., has been a staple business for nearly 50 years. The restaurant was among 15 Pizza Huts across Iowa to be abruptly closed this week.
Pizza Hut’s largest franchisee, NPC International, announced that of the almost 100 locations in Iowa, 15 would close permanently: Dyersville, Grundy Center, Independence, Manchester, Maquoketa, Oelwein, Tipton, Vinton, Boone, Eldridge, Iowa Falls, Le Claire, Newton, Urbandale, and one of two locations in Dubuque.
