I've been an avid listener of Rush Limbaugh since 1989. The listening habit was quite easy. At the time and for the next 23 years I was an on the road salesman. Since I'm not into music and NPR Rush was a good resort. He talked my language.
Since Rush's illness he's been required to bring in substitutes. One of my favorites is Mark Steyn. He's a conservative Canadian, a frequent visitor to Fox News, clever, witty and not afraid to take on the Left.
My suspicion is when Rush hangs it up Mark will be his successor.
Today Steyn was talking about COVID and its restrictions so he related a statement with a jocular answer. Did you hear about the guy who went to a restaurant on the moon? He loved the place but he didn't care for the atmosphere.
His point was this. We are now beginning our 3rd quarter of lockdown with no end in sight after being promised it would never get this far. Steyn (marksteyn.com) then went on. I don't want to live in a world where I cannot go to a sporting event, a restaurant, the movie theater or a concert and, finally, my church. I don't want to have government officials tell me it's illegal to visit family and friends, to wear a mask when I'm in the woods 50 miles from any other human being.
If you consider what he's talking about he has a point and surely should force us to think.
