Have you ever heard the phrase, 'Some like chocolate. Some like vanilla'. It doesn't really matter much which you like it's what makes you happy.
I'm a huge fan of the month of September. I know people in Minnesota who get all excited when January approaches. They can get on their snowmobiles, ice fish and freeze their arses off and love it. September, for me is perfect. The heat and humidity of August are for the most part in the rear view mirror. Nights are cooler so I can open up the sliding windows and breathe in God's crisp air. October is pretty much same and if you enjoy the changing leaves that month,this too, is a turn on. The bad part of these two months is they lull we northerners into complacency not realizing November is kicking in the door. And making matters worse November 7 is the end of daylight savings time.
It's a most perfect day in Dublin, Ohio' blue skies flanked by billowy white low hanging clouds. It's 75 degrees and as I said before the humidity is on vacation.
Charlie and I took advantage of the weather and took off for Glacier Ridge dog park. When we get to about a half mile away he starts jumping around in anticipation. Today there were eight or so canine at the park of all sizes. Most were chasing sticks, running after throw balls after they'd done the obligatory butt sniff. My pal is a lot like me. I'm not a social butterfly and neither is he. He'll sometimes run after a ball but that's about it. His time is take up in solitude, walking from post to post and tree to tree watering each one. Chocolate or vanilla. It's his schtick and far be it from me to wonder about him as long as he's having fun. I am amazed at the size of his bladder though.
Slo Joe is making an announcement today mandating every federal worker be vaccinated. I'd like to get ahold of him and make a deal. "Joe", I say, "I promise to get stabbed twice and follow up with a booster if you get back our armaments from the Taliban." And his answer would be: "ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz."
