Hold Onto Your Shorts

The Queen and I arrived at our lake cabin 12 days ago and I immediately noticed the price of gas in Hackensack, Minnesota, our town away from Dublin, Ohio. Surprisingly to me the cost per gallon was $3.45 at one station and $3.41 at the other. (In the Twin Cities the price at one station was $4.11)  I didn't write down the cost on a 3rd gas station because in this town of 246 people there aren't any more. Anyway, there are 240 lakes in our county so you can imagine how important summer visitors are to the businesses of this area. Also, it's short season for vacationers so the proprietors have to make their money while the gettins' good. The gas stations could charge $6 per gallon and get away with it.

There was an article in the newspaper published in our nearest neighbor of Walker, Mn. It stated the price of gas, within one week, will rise by $1 dollar for all upper Midwest and Far West states. So, if my math is correct and the newspaper is on target we'll be kicking in the door on $5.00 per gallon. Think back to the time of the presidency of Barack H. Obama and one of his statements about the cost of fuel. He stated, "gas is necessarily going to rise to $8.00 per gallon" which only solidifies the thinking that it is he who is running this country. Prove me wrong.
