It Is Time To Get Outta Town

A few days ago I alluded to the fact that, if Trump wins, I'll settle in my car and drive out to Iowa. Since the Democrats need another week or so to fabricate more votes aka ballot harvesting, I'm going to make the big break tomorrow.

Considering that it looks like Trump/Pence are on the downside I mentioned to The Queen this morning I place a great deal of faith in God. I may not like what He has in store for us but let His will be done. After all, He did the Jews no favors when He made them walk the desert for forty years.

I'll say it. The Democrats, should they win had a Harris/Biden presidency in mind all along. The hatred of Donald Trump might have been too much to overcome. Harris is a Far Left Radical. There's no doubt about it. It doesn't do be much good to start a revolution because I'm too damned old. I did purchase and have a lesson in how to responsibly fire a 20 gauge shotgun. I will carry it in the back of my SUV, unloaded of course. On the floor and to the left of the drivers seat lies an 12" hunting knife. It's best to be prepared than not.

I've been communicating with a number of my old high school kids who I coached and taught in Rock Island, Illinois from 1978-88. We'll get together and socialize. I know they want to go to a sports bar. I'll treatbut we'll have to drive across the Mississippit Rive to Iowa since the governor of Illinois, a Democrat, has shut all business down. It's the least I can do after all the hell I put them through as their line coach. I hope they remember that our line play was the best around and we kicked heck out of most every team we played. Our school played in a conference that was tougher than tough. We had 500 kids in the high school; boys and girls included. Our opponents all had 2,000.

After this I plan to lick my finger, put it out the car window and go where the wind is blowing. My 90 year old college baseball coach and his wife are thriving. They're the kind of folks I could drop in on but I won't. I'll give them notice.

My buddy is a big Hawkeye football fan. The Hawks will, more than likely, lose to Michigan State on Saturday but it's not a big deal. Misery loves company and all that jazz.

I have a sister living in Central Iowa. I'll take her to lunch on Sunday and visit. She'll be happy because the Iowa State Cyclones will most likely defeat Baylor on Saturday. I hope so. She feels the same way about the 'Clones losing as I do about the prospects of Democrats winning anything.

On Sunday I'll toodle on over to Council Bluffs. The Missouri River separates CB from Omaha. It's only a two and a half hour drive from my hometown. One of my most wonderful kindred spirits lives there. We communicate on a daily basis. He was six years ahead of me in high school, Isn't it neat how the differences in ages diminishes the friend gap as we age?

It'll be a six hour drive across Iowa to Davenport on the other side of the state. Over the years I've kept in touch with four kids I taught and coached at Davenport Assumption in 1976. They are so fun and even though they live a distance from each other they text very funny info daily. I am blessed they include me in these messages.

Tuesday will find me back in Dublin God willing. It's going to be exciting as I enter the front door and experience Charlie's reaction. If you've never had a dog you don't know what you're missing. It's a display of love, affection and excitement we should all experience. If you still don't know what I'm referring to think of a U.S. soldier returning home and his four small children meeting him on the tarmac of an airport.

Regardless of what lies ahead we'll all survive.
