Actually, AOC is Sort Of Right

Quite frankly AOC got a statement correct----------sort of. When Jamestown colony was established in 1607 the economic plan was to have a common store. The colonists were to harvest their own crops and game then place it in a common store for all to use. Sadly, though, and you might not believe this but it's true, some of the colonials were slightly lazy. They didn't contribute anything. They must have been too busy going to the casino or rioting in nearby Indian reservations. Many starved to death that first winter and the next.

After this failed venture cooler heads prevailed and, well, you know the rest of the story.

The result was this system of socialism, as it always is, went by the wayside. https://www.wordfoundations.com/socialism-of-jamestown-and-plymouth-fails/
