Idle Thoughts From An Idle Mind

My boy, Charlie, and I had our morning constitutional and for the first time it felt like the Fall of the year. It's bittersweet don't ya' know since what's right around the corner conjures up thoughts of, "Why can't we go someplace warm for the winter?"

When I take these walks myriad thoughts jump around inside my head. For instance, did you know in a recent poll 22% of Democrats say a man can get pregnant?

It's been said some Brits will stand in line five hours to have the opportunity to see Queen Elizabeth's casket. My question is, do they carry portable toilets with them?

Congrats to the City of Chicago. They recorded their 500th murder this week. I'm rootin' for 750 for the year.

The suburb immediately to the south of Dublin, my community, is making waves as a 'woke' town. For the past year and a half, or about the time JoeTato took office, there's been a massive LGBTQ movement in the public school system. Hilliard is no small district, either. There are 6,000 students elementary to through high school. In recent weeks teachers throughout the system have gone in front of their classes and encouraged them(mandated??) they write letters to state legislators to increase gay awareness. Get this. Children in the 2nd grade are wearing LGBTQ pins on their bodies announcing they are a 'safe space' person for those who need the encouragement. As a parent who has gone through my share of stupid teachers I can only imagine my reaction if my child, a child who is more interested in butterflies and ladybugs rather than fags and faggots, came home wearing one of these tags. And it goes further in its ridiculousness. The books now available in school libraries would make porn star Johnny Wad blush. I have to believe there are parents in this district who might have torn down the superintendent's office and torched it to the ground over these practices but, hey, i'm only an out of date 76 year old grandpa with a brain so what do I know? https://frontlinesohio.com/index.php/2021/02/19/hilliard-students-being-taught-to-support-radical-sogi-legislation/

Her Majesty is at our Minnesota lake place; has been for a couple weeks and will continue on until October 1. Some couples may ask, "How can a marriage survive doing this?" My answer is, it's why it's survived. We purchased the place in 1994. Wait, a minute. She purchased the cabin that year. I'd been working on my sales job and was in Toronto, Canada. I gave her a phone call one evening and she said, "Guess what? We own a lake home." Whatever Lola wants Lola gets, right?

I can remember when my entire emphasis in life revolved around sports. You name it; football, basketball, golf, baseball. If there was a ball involved I was all in. These days I follow the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Iowa State Cyclones and, basically, any other team associated with 'God's Country'. And why is that you might ask? The easy answer is sports has been politicized the way most all other institutions in the once great country has become. Maybe it started with 'Taking a knee' and them evolved as we fell over backwards to kiss the collective asses of Black Lives Matter. Regardless, I'm now into high school sports. The nice aspect of seeing sporting events in Dublin Ohio is if you happen to be over the age of 60 there's no charge to watch the action. I'll give you an example how this has impacted my life. Last week I actually attended a girl's high school soccer match and I stayed until the very end. And the beauty of it was the world didn't come to an end.

Do you know how I know the American people don't give a flying Willie about the southern border? Kamala was on Meet The Press and commented on that area. She said that our southern border was secure. In the last two years 5 million undocumented people from 160 countries are in this country. The government announced that 70 of these on the governments terrorist watch list have been apprehended which begs the question, 'how many haven't been caught?" There's a more important question the American people are asking and it is, 'Does Georgia really deserve to be #1 in this weeks college football poll'?

Here's a thought. I happened to see the curriculum being taught in a specific small town Nebraska high school in the year 1900. The languages taught were Latin, Greek, French and Advanced English. In today's colleges most schools are offering Remedial English for freshman.
