The state of Iowa was one of those who didn't go overboard on COVID shut downs since last March. As a matter of fact it was pretty much open for business as usual even though the media, flashing their fake medical credentials, chastized the governor severely. It was leadership like this that caused Kim Reynolds to be elected.
Iowa plays softball and baseball in the summer. The seasons were shortened to 15 games not including state tournaments. Fans of all stripes and varieties were allowed to attend games. Would you care to guess how many athletes came down with COVID. Make sure you know there were thousands of kids playing. Well, the answer is zip, zero, nada.
Fast forward to the fall football season. The regulation season is over and the kids are in the playoffs. Because of a shortened season most every team qualified. The Des Moines schools opted out this year but not because of the pandemic. They were looking for a way out because they're so pathetic and got tired of getting their butts kicked. Instead they played flag football. Good for them and every other player named Sally.
Oh yeah, not one football player in Iowa came down with COVID in football. Imagine that.
So, why has the Big Ten decided not to let fans come into the fieldhouses and stadiums? The Univ. of Iowa should take note. Yesterday their Athletic Director stated the university will lose tens of millions of dollars because of the pandemic.
The governor of Florida, a Republican, wised up. He decided last week to allow as many as they can to get into the football stadiums. Guess what? The AD at the Univ. of Florida stated they will not open up the stadium. Let me think-------90,000 people at on average $100 per ticket. You do the math.
In Michigan don't bank on it. Their communist governor will keep everything shut down until she says so. That's the way it works with dictators.
