Let's Thank God For Today

Too often people wake up dreading the day ahead. As is often the case we tend to dwell on the not so important aspects of life. We're upset because we drop a drinking glass on the floor. Or maybe we earn a speeding ticket and blame everyone except ourselves. In today's society even the most minor of things can force us to say, "My life sucks."

There's a story out of Lexington, Kentucky that happened yesterday that absolutely broke my heart and put life in it's proper perspective. A tragedy occurred on I-75 on the east side of Lexington. Many times I've driven that stretch of highway and know the exact spot two vehicles came together.

One car driven by a 38 year old woman at 12:30 pm was going south in the northbound lane. The other car contained a mother and four children under the ages of 11. Sad to report all six are dead. It's agonizing and I'm counting my blessings today.
