A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum

Two weeks ago the Queen and I were talking politics. All of you know I'm outwardly conservative. The only ones in my family who are moreso than I are my three children. I am so blessed.

Anyway, the Queen told me she was more middle of the road. I gave how a very understanding answer, "Are ya' nuts?". And then the conversation ended.

My spouse comes from a large family, aunts, uncles, cousins who grew up in Des Moines. Most of them have died off show she's picked up the mantle to keep the younger ones together.

She has two cousins, both of whom who live in Washington D.C. Both are female. One is a professor at Georgetown University and the other is married to Doug Lamborne, a Republican member of the House of Representatives from Colorado.

The wife decided should would fly to the nations capitol and spend a couple of days with both, all three together.

The Georgetown woman said to her one evening, "I don't know how a person can be both Roman Catholic and a Republican. Huh? First, she's a convert to the faith. She teaches at one of the most liberal Jesuit colleges in America and is your typical Social Justice Warrior. For my wife's sake I'm happy I wasn't privy to this statement. I'd have burned her ass with a hot poker.

The second woman is married to a very christian conservative as is she. I like the guy and I've never met him.

It takes all kinds to run the world even if Her Majesty's idiot liberal cousin is in it.
