It's Amazing

The old Law & Order show, the real one, not L&O SUV is shown almost daily on Direct TV on different channels. They have all day and night marathons and even though I've seen some episodes numerous times I continue to watch. It's like looking at a deadly car wreck. You don't want to look but you do.

Did you know Lt. Anita Van Buren played by S. Epatha Merkerson has the longest tenure of any television actor or actress in a series. The one person who has been shown the most on television shows is Homer Simpson. Van Buren did have her first part in the show as the mother of a child who was murdered. Somebody up top must have like her because shortly thereafter became a mainstay from the shows run from 1990 through 2010.

My favorite is Jerry Orbach who plays Lenny Briscoe. He's a classic cop with a realistic smart aleck attitude toward criminals.

Now that Law & Order is off the air I doubt it could make it in today's PC climate. I'd wager 90% of the thugs and criminals are either black or Hispanic.
