The Queen and I were going out to dinner two nights ago and had a mini-discussion about a character in Columbus who is headed to jail for a long, long time.
As background his name is Mike Davis. The man is a long time weatherman on the local CBS affiliate; maybe 20 years. He's been married for forty years, has at least two sons in their late 30's. I don't know if he has grandchildren but the probabilities are that he does.
Two weeks ago he was arrested by the FBI for having on his computer thousands of photos of naked children.
To date his wife has filed for divorce. He lost his job within 24 hours and I suppose his kids aren't too happy with him.
Her Majesty said, "How could a weatherman, a professional do this?". He gave up everything. If you're married you know this goes, The wife has one idea and he has another. Usually when the wife is speaking the husband hears only blah-blah-blah because he's trying to think of what he wants to say. That's the way it works with me anyway.
I tried to explain to the wife I'm not surprised about Davis being a learned professional. When it comes to porn one can expect to find ministers, lawyers, doctors, priests, baseball players and even, God forbid, Hollywood stars.
What boggles my mind is why child porn? What is it about a pre-pubescent 8 year old girl that would turn a guy on?
I can sort of understand looking at a 20 year old Alabama college football cheerleader sans clothes but, c'mon, a little boy of 8 holding a puppy.
If anyone can explain to me how naked kids are a turn on I'd like their input. Good Lord, don't we live in dangerous and weirdo times?
