One thing about Democrats that is truly lacking in the Republican Party is their tenacity for pushing through their agenda. These guys never given up. And when of them is in trouble they circle the wagons. Too bad my party doesn't do the same.
A Dem senator was on the Sunday Chuck Todd show and his statement was telling. It was Chris Murphy from Connecticut and whether he realize the impact of his words doesn't matter. From past history we should know.
The discussion was guns and Murphy said, "“Our best chance to get something passed is universal background checks. I think the theory of the case is: Once we convince Republicans that the sky doesn’t fall for you politically when you support a reasonable expansion of something like background checks, you can move onto other interventions.”
Did you notice his last six words. Give us what we want now and incrementally we'll pass more legislation to restict gun ownership.
Well, I've been around for a few decades and I know how this works. In the home while raising teenagers a parent will say, "You make sure you're home by ten or you'll be in big trouble." This is a challenge to the kid and he'll go after it to stretch out the time until he or she is sashaying into the house at midnight.
Who can ever forget Clinton's words when speaking about abortion: "Make it safe, legal and rare." Excuuuuuuuuuuse me but we now have children being murdered after birth.
When Roe v. Wade was being argued all the pro-abortionists asked abortions be allowed up to the first three months. Sadly, those babies never had the opportunity to test their parents at midnight.
