 The story of Gwen Barry has received entirely too much press. She's the old doll who covered her face with a t-shirt while the Star Spangled Banner was being played at the Olympic qualifiers. What a toad. I saw a picture of her this morning holding the American flag over her head with a big smile on her bulbous face.

It's just that shenanigans took place among the prosecutors. I've heard it said Cosby was a victim of the #Me Too Movement. It could be but this didn't apply to Tara Reed's charges of rape against Joe Biden.

Both defense and prosecution lawyers are head scratching enigmas for me. The defense guys are required to give their best to set free guys like Charles Manson. Prosecutors have the unfettered power to bring any charges they can conjure up in their minds.

Today's Lesson In Irony

 

Once in a while we just have to stand back in awe of our  government.  The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever - to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Dept. of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals."  Their stated reason for the policy is because "the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

It's Hot In Ohio

 Considering the Northwest is having temperatures of 115 degrees I shouldn't complain. Well, I will complain. Cities like Portland and Seattle deserve to have even hotter temps to acclimate themselves for what happens after death.

Maybe there is something to this global warming. It's 96 F in Dublin, Ohio. That's hot enough for me to stay indoors. This is no big deal because come January when it's -15 it'll be cold enough for me to do the same.

The heat got me to thinking about those days long ago when I was a pre-teen lad in Central Iowa when the humidity was so high we could go swimming in our own clothes.

Those were the days when we didn't have air conditioning. Can you imagine people today trying to do that? I learned the other day that half the people in this country weren't alive in 1980 so they don't know how to bitch about we folks who lived in the Dark Ages. I can still picture my grandma sitting in the corner with her personal air conditioner. It was a rolled up newspaper and she waved it back and forth across her face.

The worst times without AC were at night when lying in bed the sweat came off so much that we somethings thought we'd wet the mattress. We'd toss and turn without covers on and windows wide open so that the breeze, of which there wasn't any, could come through. 

I have a friend who lives in Arizona and he was telling me about the 115 degree temps. I said, "Yeah, but it's a dry heat." And he countered with, "Then go put your head in an over." Case closed on that one.

How A Government Stimulus Plan Works

Three contractors bid to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago, another is from Kentucky and the third is from New Orleans. All three go with a White House official to examine the fence.

The New Orleans contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil.

"Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $9,000. That's $4,000 for materials, $4,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me."

The Kentucky contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $7,000 That's $3,000 for materials, $3,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$27,000."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys. How did you come up with such a high figure?"

"The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$10,000 for me, $10,000 for you, and we hire the guy from Kentucky to fix the fence."

"Done!" replies the government official.

 When I was a kid I loved going to the movies and watching the adventures of Ma and Pa Kettle. Ma, Marjorie Main in real life, was the worker in the family who kept the farm going. Pa, Percy Kilbride, could be found sitting on the front porch in is rocking chair all day long. 

Every once in awhile Ma would say, "Pa, what did you get done today?" And Pa would answer, "Not much, Ma, but I'll giver 'er heck tomorrow."

This is sort of the way it is today in America's workforce. The Wall Street Journal ran a story this morning on jobs in this country, focusing on 19 Blue states. 

There are 9.3 million able-bodied people who don't work because the government is paying them not to. In the Blue states a husband and wife can take home $100,000 a year because of the government programs issued by the Democrats.

The country is suffering due to the lack of truckers who are staying home while their bank accounts grow. In essence, the goods aren't getting to market. Specifically, gas and food products.

Last week the City of Portland ran an ad in the NY Times exhorting people to visit the 'City of Roses'. 

And now this: A spokesperson for the Portland Police Bureau told the Daily Caller News Foundation Thursday that the department doesn’t track gang activity despite reports detailing an increase in gang violence in the city.

NCAA Baseball Goes Woke

There Will Be A Test On Monday

Buck Sexton and Clay Travis are the two new permanent replacements for Rush Limbaugh. In listening to them the entire week I wasn't that impressed but I'll give them some time.

One of their subjects at hand were words that are no-no's to say. For instance, the FAA has mandated that the word 'cockpit' cannot be used when describing where a plane's captain sits. Then a guy called into the show who was a captain for Delta. He said that the cockpit thing had been banned by his airline five years ago but it was recently mandated when he got on the PA he was not allowed to say, "Ladies and gentlemen." Instead the pilots are required to say, "Everyone." If cockpit is eliminated from the vernacular I wonder how rap singers will get by.

So, if the word lady is banned doesn't that mean there will be no more lady bugs? When I'm out and about and talk to a woman whose name I don't know I'll say, "Hi Lady." I always thought it was a sign of respect but, then again, I was born in the dark ages. In a way it's fortunate my 'birther person' is now dead. She'd be appalled to know she isn't a mom or mother.

91. Nanogender: feeling a small part of one gender with the rest being something else.
92. Neutrois: the feeling of having a neutral gender; sometimes a lack of gender that leads to feeling neutral.
93. Nonbinary: originally an umbrella term for any gender outside the binary of cisgenders; may be used as an individual identity; occasionally used alongside of genderqueer.
94. Omnigender: the feeling of having more than one simultaneous or fluctuating gender; simultaneous with multigender and polygender.
95. Oneirogender: coined by anonymous, “being agender, but having recurring fantasies or daydreams of being a certain gender without the dysphoria or desire to actually be that gender day-to-day”.
96. Pangender: the feeling of having every gender; this is considered problematic by some communities and thus has been used as the concept of relating in some way to all genders as opposed to containing every gender identity; only applies to genders within one’s own culture.
97. Paragender: the feeling very near one gender and partially something else which keeps you from feeling fully that gender.
98. Perigender: identifying with gender but not as a gender.
99. Polygender: the feeling of having more than one simultaneous or fluctuating gender; simultaneous with multigender and omnigender.
100. Proxvir: a masculine gender similar to a boy, but on a separate plane and off to itself.
101. Quoigender: feeling as if the concept of gender is inapplicable or nonsensical to one’s self.
102. Subgender: mostly a gender with a bit of another gender.
103. Surgender: having a gender that is 100% one gender but with more of another gender added on top of that.
104. Systemgender: a gender that is the sum of all the genders within a multiple or median system.
105. Tragender: a gender that stretches over the whole spectrum of genders.
106. Transgender: any gender identity that transcends or does not align with your assigned gender or society’s idea of gender; the feeling of being any gender that does not match your assigned gender.
107. Trigender: the feeling of having three simultaneous or fluctuating genders.
108. Vapogender: a gender that sort of feels like smoke; it can be seen on a shallow level but once you go deeper, it disappears and you are left with no gender and only tiny wisps of what you thought it was.
109. Venngender: when two genders overlap creating an entirely new gender; like a Venn diagram.
110. Verangender: a gender that seems to shift/change the moment it is identified.
111. Vibragender: a gender that is usually one stable gender but will occasionally change or fluctuate before stabilizing again.
112. Vocigender: a gender that is weak or hollow.
