PETA Wants To Have A Lobster Memorial
BRUNSWICK, Maine (WGME) - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animalswant to build a 5-foot tombstone where lobsters may have died after a crash on Route 1 in Brunswick, Maine, last week.
According to the Brunswick Police Department several of the crustaceans that a Cozy Harbor Seafood truck was carrying got crushed as a result of the rollover.
"It was something I've never seen before," said Detective William Moir of the Brunswick Police Department. "Some lobsters were loose on the ground from being spilled over so we went to work to save the ones we could."
The organization sent a letter to the Maine Department of Transportation asking if it could create the roadside memorial where the lobsters lost their lives.

The McCain's Show Their True Colors
I was never a big fan of John McCain. He was always a part of the D.C. establishment. In other words he was a phony. Don't believe me. He was a part of the Keating 5 but skated.
When he ran against Obama I took my youngest son with me to the community of Sunbury, Ohio slightly north of Columbus for a McCain rally, The emcee was a fella name Billy Cunningham, a conservative radio broadcaster at WLW in Cincinnati and now a coast to coast broadcaster.
Cunningham introduced McCain as the candidate who will defeat Barack Hussein Obama. And McCain's response was, "We don't need to bring the muslim name into the conversation". It was then that I knew McCain was not a fighter. He was a big time loser.
So, McCain has died. Liberals are praising him for his courage. They surely didn't do this when he was running for the highest office in the land.
His funeral is happening soon. Sarah Palin, his running mate in the election wanted to attend his funeral. She was told by the McCain family to stay away. The McCain's are keeping up the tradition set forth by the head of the family. They're all losers still.
Finally, let me make this perfectly clear, in 2008 I voted for Sarah Palin not John McCain.

The Democrats have few issues to run on this November. In our 12th Ohio district the candidate out of power, Danny O'Connell ran against Troy Balderson(R) in a run-off. His issues were: lower taxes. I thought Trump did this and when was the last time a Democrat lowered taxes; raising Medicare benefits and to save Social Security.
I ask you this question. When was the last time Republicans said they were going to destroy Social Security? It's a scare tactic to get us old folks to switch our votes to the donkey party.

Delaware State University in their infinite wisdom has banned snow ball throwing for the winter season. They're very worried about kids being injured or upon being hit have their feelings hurt.
Thank God the administration kept their noses out of a long time tradition when I attended Coe College in the 60's. All of the male students stormed a hill in the middle of campus at the same time. The only requirements were: (1) be strongly inebriated, (2) wear only a belt and boots and (3) scream like banshee's.
It was great. The sorority girls across the way had their cameras ready and operating. A good time was had by all.
You most likely think this is childish. Then you don't know the Sixties. Ever seen the movie, Animal House?

MJ Hawkeye Is So Very Very Angry
I love Iowa. I grew up there and didn't leave the Hawkeye State until I was 42. If you've never been there you're missing the rolling corn fields. You'll never know the wonderful people who populate the state. You may not know this until now but Iowa has more communities of 2,000 or less than any state in the Union.
Whenever I'm reading the net and Iowa comes up I'll click on the site. It doesn't matter if it's a sports story or one of human interest, I'm onto it.
A week ago I wrote about one Mollie Tibbetts from Brooklyn. It's one of those 2,000 or less communities. Mollie went out for a run one evening and never got home. For one month law enforcement officials scoured the by ways and highways looking for her. Every cornfield in the area was canvased but to no avail.
This morning they found her body. Shortly thereafter a 24 year old kid, a married kid, was arrested for her gruesome murder. The kid is an illegal alien. I am so angry, so very, very angry.
The kid told the authorities he blacked out when he committed the crime. B.S. My take is a lawyer got a hold of him to give him that excuse. Poor Mollie, she did not deserve this. No one deserves to have their life taken away by a horny despicable human being, especially by an illegal alien.
So, for those who protest against ICE screw you. I hate you, the kid, and everything you stand for.

His answer: "Not really but I enjoy talking to my patients". Truth be told he could blackmail me with all the personal info I've told him over the years.

He told me he hated it because most of his day was taken up with bureaucratic nonsense which didn't give him time to be with his patients. The Queen had a doctor in the same office and was just taken with him. What, you might ask, was his response to ObamaCare? He quit and went into private business.

Deja Vu All Over Again
A friend of mine sent me an article written by one Michael Gartner about his life and times. Gartner was a honcho with the Des Moines Register when it used to be a reputable newspaper. He was also on the Board of Regents at the Univ. of Iowa and later a big shot at NBC News.
Gartner wrote a nice piece about his father and how one time while driving in Des Moines he had an auto accident while turning left at an intersection. Older drivers must have this in their repertoire since my father in law, who was born and died in Des Moines did exactly the same thing. I should add they were friends so they might have traded wisdom over coffee and bagels one morning.
I know I wrote about the Queen's dad, probably six or so years ago. His name was Alec. He was the personified Scotsman. His family migrated to Canada then to Des Moines and founded the city.
Anyway, in 1984 when he was 88 he and his wife came to visit us in Davenport, Iowa. Actually, he didn't come to see me. His daughter and grandchildren were number one on his list. I was only the last piece of the puzzle.
One morning they both left their motel and were required to make a left onto Brady Street in north Davenport. Unfortunately, a vehicle coming north decided to hit them. Luckily, there were no serious injuries but my father in law did the Gartner thing; no left turns from then on in. When he drove to downtown Des Moines he planned the trip ahead of time so that only right turns would be made until he reached his destination.
A man of his word was he. However, when he was 92 he awoke in the middle of the night to do what all men do--hit the head. Unfortunately, he took a left turn out of the john, hit the wall and that was the end of my father in law.

Anyway, in 1984 when he was 88 he and his wife came to visit us in Davenport, Iowa. Actually, he didn't come to see me. His daughter and grandchildren were number one on his list. I was only the last piece of the puzzle.
One morning they both left their motel and were required to make a left onto Brady Street in north Davenport. Unfortunately, a vehicle coming north decided to hit them. Luckily, there were no serious injuries but my father in law did the Gartner thing; no left turns from then on in. When he drove to downtown Des Moines he planned the trip ahead of time so that only right turns would be made until he reached his destination.
A man of his word was he. However, when he was 92 he awoke in the middle of the night to do what all men do--hit the head. Unfortunately, he took a left turn out of the john, hit the wall and that was the end of my father in law.
My Best Guess Is It Was The Alligator
A very unlucky woman was out walking her dog this morning in Beaufort, South Carolina when an alligator got her and drug her into a pond. This should happen more often. One of my pals used to live in Callawasie Island, South Carolina and he always warned me, "When golfing and walking do not go near the water". I once saw a gator jump ten feet out of the water and snag a large bird perched on a branch.

A California man detained by immigration agents while he was driving his pregnant wife to the hospital for a scheduled C-section is wanted in connection to a murder in Mexico.

Driving Pet Peeve Number 3,042
If you live in a small town you won't appreciate this driving pet peeve. If you live in a large urban area you'll know what I mean.
There's an outer belt, I-270 running around Columbus proper. When driving home to Dublin I'll exit the outer belt onto Sawmill Drive, go two blocks and park in the left turn lane. If I'm fifth or sixth in line I begin to sweat profusely. The left turn light lasts approximately 13 seconds. Trust me this is a constant. The first vehicle in line will wait five seconds after the light changes then makes the turn slower than a caterpillar or slug in their Olympic games. I never, ever get to make the turn. Sawmill traffic going north and south is like something out of New York City. As for the driver in the front of the line----I hate these people!

My vehicle was curb parked in front of the home of one of my high school basketball players from Davenport Assumption High School in Iowa. I was listening to a Chicago Cubs baseball game on WGN radio out of Chicago and the announcer was Lou Boudreau. He made the announcement while the game was in progress. Okay, read this again. Aren't you impressed I remember these details?
I was listening to the Glenn Beck radio show this morning and Glenn and his sidekick mentioned 'flash bulb' memories; historical moments that allow us to recall events that are significant in our lives in detail. For example, where were you when JFK was shot and you first heard about it? How about the planes flying into the World Trade Center.
According to Beck some such source stated 60% of what we recall is bogus. I don't know about you but my memory is outstanding when it comes to dramatic events. I first heard about Kennedy's assassination at Boone High School. I had just arrived at the walkway to get to the second floor. One of my classmates uttered these words, "I'm glad". He's still a friend of mine but at the time 'torqued off' didn't adequately describe my feelings toward him.
The really weird aspect of this conversation is I remember historical events better than I remember the birth of my children. That's sad. I do remember when my daughter was born in January of 1971 in Storm Lake, Iowa. I was sitting in the waiting room with another man, a farmer from the area. He already had nine daughters. The nurse came in and told him he had another daughter and I thought, "what an unlucky sap.
A half hour later the nurse came to me and announced I was the proud pappy of a baby girl and I felt like the luckiest man in the world. And that's the truth.

A New Mexico (female)judge granted bail Monday to five suspects — one the son of a controversial Brooklyn imam — who were accused of keeping kids in a filthy, heavily fortified compound.
Three women and two men, ages 35 to 40, will wear ankle monitors and be under house arrest if they can post $20,000 bond each, the judge ruled in Taos.
Deputy District Attorney Timothy Hasson told the court that the suspects were up to no good, saying, “This was not a camping trip and this was not a simple homestead of the kind that many people do in New Mexico.”

I Knew This Blog Was Good But---------------------
All along I knew I had a wonderful, scintillating blog but I was flabbergasted to find out out Alexrank listed me. Alexrank is the chief blogging keeper of statistics.
In October and November I was flying high. It was the election cycle and this blog was getting over 1,000 hits daily. At it's pinnacle I decided to smoke expensive cigars.
Anyway, I looked at my numbers today. HELP! Send money.

A Day In The Life Of MJ Hawkeye
To coin a phrase from a great song by the Beatles every day when my feet hit the floor from sleep it's
it's like a magical mystery tour. The day could be outstanding in a good way or having a magicians hat and pulling out an anaconda instead of a rabbit.
Today it was the anaconda but it's only 4 pm so the rainbow still has the opportunity to show its glory.
The Queen called me in Ohio from our Minnesota lake home. She had 3 duties for me to perform. When this happens I have to say, "Wait, I get paper and a pen". I have difficulty remembering one duty but three is a killer.
I had to send UPS to the cabin (1) a checkbook, (2) a fancy water bottle made by the Rothschild family. It looked that way to me. It was made out of glass, had logo I couldn't make out and (3) sunglasses. The Queen has more sunglasses than an Arab in the desert.
I boxed the items and carefully wrapped the bottle. At the UPS shop I encountered Justin. When I ship from the U.S. Postal Service the postman will ask, "Any liquids, breakable items, etc." You know the drill. Justin said, "What's in the box"? He didn't even put a please in the sentence. So I countered with, "Why do you need to know"? That's a legitimate question. And then it began------------.
"Mister, open the box so I can check the contents". This was after I told him exactly what was in it.
Understand that I'm 72 years old. I'm like Walter Mattheu in the movie Grumpy Old Men. In other words don't anybody give me crap and less you want a bulldog tearing at your trousers and I was that bulldog. I asked the kid why me? He told me I fit a certain profile of those who break the law. There had to be five other folks in the store and I wasn't going to let this die. "WHAT'S THE PROFILE". I asked. His stupid answer was I was vague about the contents of the water bottle. "There isn't anything in the water bottle". "It's a water bottle". So, Barney Fife then said, "What if it contained alcohol"?
This bothered me greatly and i asked him why he didn't ask me if there was alcohol in the box. Why would I lie about that? If the bottle contained plutonium then I might have fibbed. Besides, why would I ship a bottle of wine to Minnesota when I could have told Her Majesty to get in the car, drive to the liquor store and pick up her own wine for a lot less cost.
Know what? I used to teach high school kids this guys age and they were the ones who earned an F.
The coup de gras was this box cost me a smooth $21.00. It was the size of a shoe box.
I was going to tell you about my trip to Ohio Health to replace a tiny piece of rubber for my CPAP machine. Going through this would be too aggravating so I'll pass. Suffice it to say I didn't get the part needed. I explained to the lady behind the desk that bureaucracy is frustrating. She didn't know the meaning of the word.

Where Is Mollie Tibbetts.
A young girl, twenty years old went missing three weeks ago. Mollie resides in a farm community of 1,500 people and was out for a jog the poof, the girl has fallen off the face of the earth. She's goes to the University of Iowa and is a real cutie. Fox News has put this story in their 24 hour news cycle and I'm wondering why.

I also have a very large library of hardbacks. Fiction books won't be found on my shelves. Beginning in 1991 I became fascinated with the Clinton's, both of them. Quite frankly, there wasn't too much positive being written about them at the time and it remains so today. If one goes to any website and asks the most memorable remembrance of Bill the name of Monica pops up.
Today when I view Hillary's picture on the web with an accompanying story I'll invariably click on the story. I don't want to but I do. It's how when you come upon a bad car accident. You don't want to look but you do. I suppose it's human nature.
I have a thought on why Bill and Hillary have skated so many years avoiding prosecution for their vast number of scandals and crimes. They must have created one heck of a dossier on anyone and everyone with whom they've come in contact. Evil, evil people they are.
