Making A Difference

Question Of The Day

Beginning with the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio there have been numerous statistics given on the number or trains going off the rails in the last twelve months. These figures have come from Mayor Pete. I've seen estimates from 1,000 to 1,400 of these 'accidents'.

My question is, how many underground pipeline spills have there been? Did the Keystone Pipeline foul our soil and atmosphere with leaked fuel?

Living In The Twilight Zone

Remembering Bill & Hillary

“Ron Brown, Former Chairman, DNC; Commerce Secretary. Died: May 3, 1996.

Ron Brown died along with 39 other people when the T-43 (a converted 737 used by the Air Force) carrying the group on a trip to Bosnia crashed while approaching the Dubrovnik airport. On the verge of being indicted and having stated publicly his willingness to make a deal with prosecutors, Ron Brown’s death brought to an end his ability to testify. The very next day, Ron Brown’s personal lawyer was murdered in a drive-by shooting. A few days later, the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) who had been in charge during the aircraft crash was found dead and declared a suicide.
On leaving Ron Brown’s funeral, President Bill Clinton was seen laughing and joking … until he saw the camera, then he went into his sad act!”–whatreallyhappened.com

What they don’t say, but it was reported at the time (and Rush Limbaugh talked about it too) is that, despite the crash, Ron Brown had a bullet hole in the back of his skull. So they had him shot, crashed a plane killing 39 other people, then had his lawyer AND the ATC person killed…just to shut Ron up. https://www.realityshed.com/2022/09/22/playing-catch-up-putin-threatens-nuclear-war-and-calls-up-troops-while-trying-to-close-gap-with-clinton-body-count/

I Was Always Bad At Math

What's The End Game Strategy?

I'll be dead honest with you. I'm more than worried about our commitment to Ukraine. It seems everyone in the current administration is parroting Joe's words when it comes to our strategy for ending our participation in the war. What I'm hearing is "Whatever it takes as long as it takes." Wowie, Bob, this is scary.

I'm old enough to remember Viet Nam. We began sending advisers under the Eisenhower administration. After thousands of deaths we left in 1975-------with our tails between our legs.

Then came Afghanistan. Folks, it was a twenty plus year promise to the American that went unfilled. Will we ever forget the way we left? Thirteen soldiers died. American citizens were left behind along with $82 billion dollars in armaments and what did we gain?

Ask yourselves this question: Do you trust our government officials, Democrat and Republican, to extricate ourselves without starting WW III? To date we've given Ukraine $113 billion dollars with no end in sight.

Appreciating Baseball

It's getting to be that time of year when 'The Boys Of Summer Begin' begin plying their trade. I love the game of baseball. What I don't like is how the powers to be are destroying the game with their silly rules but that's another story.

As the years fly by I appreciate the talents of Greg Maddux more and more.He was what is called a pitcher, not a thrower. Toward the end of his illustrious career in which he won 18 Gold Gloves in his 19 year career he was firing the ball a measly 82 mph.  What made him so great is he could paint the corners of the plate. If there's a youngster in your family playing on a competitive level ask them to contemplate the statistic in the photo.

When Movies Were Special

I would imagine every person alive believes they grew up in the best era ever in the history of mankind. And why not? From age 2 until 18 there are so many aspects of life to learn and appreciate. To illustrate this I was teaching high school in the late 1980's and the kids in school thought rap music was the be all end all.

I recall having a conversation with my mother in law a few years back. She was, literally, a flapper the 1920's who frequented the speakeasies of Des Moines. Her eyes would light up when she spoke of the Roaring Twenties. My father in law played in a band with the famed jazz cornetist, Bix Biederbecke. He, too, talked often of those days. Such lucky people they were.

This morning I happened to turn on the FXX Channel and viewed a movie from 1942 titled 'My Gal Sal' starring the bombshell actress Rita Hayworth along with actor Victor Mature. I suspect most of the films in those days dealt with The War and musicals and many of these themes were intertwined.

In Boone Iowa the 1950's presented us kids with limited choices for activities which in looking back was a good thing; less time to get in trouble so we made our own fun. Our community of 12,000 citizens had two movie theaters. One was The Princess Theater and directly across the street was The Rialto. The latter one is still around today--I think. The Princess lasted until around 1954 or '55. I supposed the introduction of television had a good deal to do with its demise.

On Saturday mornings during winter months The Rialto would have a series of cartoons followed by 'shorts' which were fifteen minute films. These were usually The Three Stooges and after them a full feature movie. Cowboy films were normally the fare of the day.

Let me get back to the movie, 'My Gal Sal'. The Sunday movie fares offered back then were mostly musicals with singing and dancing and, yuck, kissing. My parents would shuttle my elder sister off to the Rialto and I was forced to tag along. I hated going there but even at the age of ten I recognized the beauties of the day. As I look back I miss that period of glamorous actresses. We don't have those kind of creatures on the movie screen today--------in my mind. Teenagers of today would differ in their answer. Why? It's because they're still in the learning process. I'm asking--who are the beauties on today's big screen? I'll be honest with you. I miss the musicals. I miss guys like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly dancing their way across the screen. In addition to Hayworth I also yearn for the likes of Betty Grable and Gene Tierney, the very cute Debbie Reynolds and the radiant and beautiful Grace Kelly. In those 'olden time days' there was a film called 'Seven Brides For Seven Brothers'. It was loaded with singing and dancing and love. My parents took us to the drive-in movie to watch. I pretended to hate it but inside I convinced myself that some day I was going to marry Jane Powell. There seemed to be an endless bevy of beauties in those days. I'm sitting at my coffee table trying to come up with a Hollywood startlet who rev's my engine and I can't think of one.

I'm a huge fan of the Hallmark Channel. Plots are simple in nature and the only sex that takes place is at the very end of the movie when the guy plants a kiss on the lips of his special lady. My favorite 'sweetie' from this channel is Lacey Chabert. She's just so sweet and cute and innocent. She's so special I've convinced myself she had to have grown up in Iowa. I've taped a TV movie she was in titled 'The Christmas Waltz'. I've watched it so often I can repeat the lines before the actors speak them. The very special reason I like this film is because it's reminiscent of the musicals of the 50's. It has it all; singing, dancing, laughter and at the very end, one-single-kiss.

And this is the way God meant movies to be.

This Doesn't Look Good-------------------------------For The Federal Gov't

Newly released bodycam footage obtained due to the court trial of Jan. 6 defendant William Pope of Topeka, Kansas shows uniformed officers discussing how to spot “non-uniform” agents. Harry Houdini Strikes Again

Mark Middleton, Bill Clinton’s special advisor from Little Rock, Arkansas who connected the former president to deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died at the age of 59 last May.

At first, no details of Middleton’s death were disclosed, however, the case was blown wide open after a FOIA request by Radar Online revealed the former advisor was found hanging from a tree with a shotgun blast to his chest and an extension cord wrapped around his neck. No gun was found.

Arkansas authorities have finally ruled the death a suicide. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/02/arkansas-police-rule-suicide-in-death-of-clinton-aide-found-hanging-from-tree-with-shotgun-blast-to-chest-despite-no-sign-of-gun/

When Clinton was president Middleton signed Jeffrey Epstein into the White House 7 times. Since Epstein visited the White House 17 times there are others who had better watch their backs.

50,000 And Counting

Have you heard about the thousands of young people who have flocked to Asbury University in tiny Wilmore, Kentucky to take part in a grass roots religious revival? These young people, 50,000 of them, are setting a spiritual example.

In these trying times I find this exciting.

Pity Minnesota!

There's a storm brewing in Minnesota and it ain't gonna be pretty. A swath of snow is striking the southern part of the state to the tune of around 24" with more on the way in a few days. I spent the better part of last night texting my buddies 'Up North' to stay in their homes-----as if they needed that bit of advice.

Regardless, I began thinking about legislation pending in the Gopher State and with all this snow shook my head in bewilderment.

The governor of the 'Land of 10,000 Taxes' has put his imprimatur on a bill that would ban gas powered lawn mowers and gas powered snow blowers in order to save the environment. Need I write more?

Pfizer Covered Up Deaths

According to new provisional data from the Scottish government, there were 7,314 deaths registered in January 2023, an increase of 17.7% compared to the average of 6,212. For the second week of January, there were more deaths in Scotland than ever before, including during the peak of the pandemic. Concurrently, there were 4,159 births registered in January 2023, a decrease of 6.8% compared to the average of 4,463. In other words, between a dearth of births and a plethora of deaths, there were roughly 1,400 fewer souls, the equivalent of roughly 86,000 in the United States. This is long after COVID. Why is there zero concern?

What on earth will it take to pull these death shots from the market?

Die Welt, a paper based in the home country of Pfizer partner BioNTech, revealed last week in a long expose what many of us have long known. All those sudden deaths, heart attacks, and strokes we’ve been witnessing over the past two years were indeed observed during the Pfizer clinical trial that supposedly showed the shots to be 100% safe and effective. The company simply covered up the severe adverse events by kicking those participants out of the trial and/or suggesting without evidence that the deaths had nothing to do with the experiment. https://www.conservativereview.com/horowitz-major-german-paper-reveals-pfizer-fabricated-clinical-trials-to-cover-up-deaths-2659449051.html

No More Eggs

I don't know about you but there certainly seems to be a lot of nonsense going on in our food industry. I'm talking tainted food, fires and explosions in the food processing industries and, of course, the demise of our most precious fowl. Or, it could be a coincidence. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to ask questions.

Anyway, I found this article from the Epoch Times worth the reading time. https://www.theepochtimes.com/health/whats-really-behind-the-egg-shortage_5069300.html?utm_source=News&src_src=News&utm_campaign=breaking-2023-02-21-2&src_cmp=breaking-2023-02-21-2&utm_medium=email&est=kPwMfK%2FFmvZB57NP%2FbOnXYFZOHgw8sWhmPREZO%2F%2BEsxv2WF7WPtSInjkC5dQIv4%3D

Worse Than James Buchanan?

Presidential historian and New York Times best-selling author Craig Shirley says Joe Biden is on track to become the nation's worst president in history.

"I ranked him among our five worst presidents in American history. He's actually going to become the worst president in American history.
Everything he does seems to be about destroying American exceptionalism, the American experiment and the American creed.
I've come to the conclusion he's doing it on purpose."
The ranking is based off of a piece that Shirley wrote one year into Joe Biden's presidency. Shirley said that now that it's been two years since the president took office. 46 has been getting a lot of backlash lately for inflation, the economy and unpopular foreign policy decisions and now for choosing to go to Ukraine for a photo op and film footage for another election campaign on your money instead of going to Ohio where people are dealing with the aftermath of the train derailment and toxic chemicals affecting the community.

A Guy Can't Say Nuthin' Anymore

(LifeSiteNews) – The NBA recently fined one of its players a whopping $40,000 for joking about his lack of sexual attraction for other men.

Brooklyn Nets’ star Cam Thomas had remarked during a February 9, on-court interview that his team had good-looking players, jokingly adding “no homo.” Thomas, 21, apologized that night but the league decided to impose the fine even after Thomas’s mea culpa. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/nba-fines-cam-thomas-40k-for-jokingly-noting-his-lack-of-homosexual-desires/?utm_source=daily-usa-2023-02-21&utm_medium=email

Sadly, both Thomas and Tiger Woods apologized for recent ridiculous insensitive remarks.

MJ Hawkeye's 'Believe It Or Not'

"Duck! It's An Air Raid"

Sometimes, there are scenarios that are so funny(and ridiculous) they have to be repeated again and again.

I awakened early this morning; 4:30 to be precise and flipped on the television when lo and behold there was Joe Biden visiting Ukraine. I'm not sure why he didn't do a zoom call but, then again, it is the one year anniversary of the beginning of WW III and he felt the need to fly to Kyiv and give away more of our money. There were videos of he and Zelinsky walking the streets when all of  a sudden air raid sirens went off. I don't know about you but if I was in a war torn country and I heard the sirens the first thing I'd do is kiss dirt but these guys kept walking like they were listening to birds chirping. Do you think just maybe our government would send a guy, even a guy like Biden, to an area were real rockets and bombs are detonated? Can you say photo op?

Don't stop reading because it gets better. In an April of '22 speech now being exposed Joe further committed the United States by saying, in addition to food, water and bombs this country was also going to provide pensions and social services to the Ukrainian people! In my mind it's bad enough we're paying for five and a half million immigrants but now we're responsible to provide pensions to folks who haven't worked a lick in this country. Ya' can't make this stuff up.

This 'N That From Dublin Ohio

I'm officially announcing winter is over; not that we really had one. Oh, there was that three day period in late December when the whole country went into a deep freeze but that was nuthin' when it comes down to it. I've always been of the mindset when I can see the sun after 6:15 pm there is no more winter. I won't try and convince this for the folks in the Upper Midwest. They have more suffering ahead. In one of our last years living in Iowa we had a fourteen inch downfall on April 11. For you old-timers does it seem winters and snow were more massive back in the 50's and 60's. I thought so, too.

It's been almost two weeks since we lost Charlie. I only teared up once yesterday. I once read when a loved ones die it takes, on average, thirty days to regain a semblance of sanity. Last night I screwed up the courage to go to a website called PetFinder.com. There are literally hundreds of thousands of man's best friends available for adoption. We're not nearly ready to take this step but I felt when looking at it I was making progress with my grief.

I came across a nice article extolling the virtues of living in Dublin, Ohio. Highlighted in the story was the new S-shaped bridge crossing over the Scioto River that runs through town. It is the longest of its kind in the world. Even so, and this is probably an idle thought, Her Majesty and I will be taking care of business in Iowa in a few weeks. While visiting we've decided to check out residences in Central Iowa; specifically Ames. It's true, I think, that as elephants go home to die humans do the same.

I'm not one to make Lenten promises. I mean, why should I set myself up for failure? But, The Queen is one of these types so I told her I'd follow suit. Usually, when she comes up with these sacrifice ideas I'll say, "I think I'll give up eating squash" which isn't too much of a challenge on my part. Last night I told her I'd forgo sweets as in, dessert. I don't know why I said that but I did. If I eat sugar free chocolate does this count against me?

The recent railroad debacle in eastern Ohio filled my mind with many memories about past jobs. I worked my way through college during two summers as a brakeman on the Ft. Dodge, Des Moines and Southern Railroad. It was a smallish outifit that ran from------where else----Ft. Dodge and Des Moines. The tracks ran around 100 miles north to south. Yes, while throwing a switch in the middle of the night I did throw the wrong switch and put two cars on the ground. It so happened the president of the company was in the town it happened and  immediately came to the scene. Surprisingly, I didn't get fired. What does shock me in thinking back is I made $6,000 in the summer which was darned good money for a 21 year old kid in 1967. Think not? Well, in 1968 my coaching/teaching salary in my first job was $6850. In thinking back on those days, the ones when I was driving a 1968 Pontiac GTO I wonder how I did it all on a monthly take home pay of $404.11. Good times, huh?

Why Joey B. Doesn't Care About East Palestine

East Palestine is located in Columbiana County, OH. The voters in that county preferred President Trump to Joey SoftServ by 45 points in the 2020 [s]election. According to the Census Bureau, the median age is 40. Nearly half the households have someone over 60 living there. Fifteen percent of the 1208 families are people over 65, living alone. There are 33 Blacks in the town of 4,548. Only 9% of the town has a college degree. Tracking Fentanyl

Step 1: China to west coast of Mexico

Chemists in Chinese laboratories produce powdered chemicals, such as 4-Piperidone, known as “precursors” that serve as fentanyl’s building blocks.

According to Ben Westhoff, author of “Fentanyl, Inc.: How Rogue Chemists Created the Deadliest Wave of the Opioid Epidemic,” the Chinese labs maintain veneers of legitimacy and stay within China’s laws. But the bosses know that the chemicals are illicit elsewhere. “They showed me the fake packaging,” Westhoff, who toured labs in Wuhan, told The Post. “They put the precursors into boxes that look like they contain dog food and ship them to Mexico, usually by sea.”  https://nypost.com/2023/02/18/tracking-fentanyls-deadly-path-china-to-mexico-to-america/

This amount of fentanyl will kill you---or your children----or your grandchildren.

Fourteen thousand pounds of fentanyl were confiscated at our southern border last year; enough to kill 3.4 billion people. How many pounds made it into the country?

And Then The Fight Started

American Gestapo

Victoria White from Rochester, Minnesota attended the Stop the Steal rally in Washington DC on January 6th. She was nearly killed by DC police officers during the rally. Victoria was later arrested and charged with assault on the US Capitol.

Victoria White was brutally beaten near death by the US Capitol Police.
According to attorney Joseph McBride:

She is hit approximately thirty- five times over the course of 4 minutes and 30 seconds, while appearing to be begging for mercy the entire time. She is hit with the baton while facing away. She is hit with the baton while facing forward. She is speared and poked with the baton about the face so as to inflict maximum pain. She collapses more than once and is stood up by the officers only to be maced and beaten again. At some point, White-shirt puts away his baton, not because he is showing mercy because he has a clear avenue to her face. As such, he unloads on the defenseless woman punching her five times in five seconds, directly in the face, with all of his might. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/02/gruesome-video-released-trump-supporter-victoria-white-dc-officer-jason-bagshaw-beat-face-baton-fist-40-times-january-6/

For Wrestling Fans Only

I've become a big fan of high school and college wrestling primarily through watching a young man, Spencer Lee, ply his trade at the University of Iowa. When wrestlers from opposing schools go against him it's considered a Phyrric victory for them if they can make it through the 1st period without getting pinned. Two years ago the young man won a national championship even though he had torn ligaments in both knees. He is a marvel.

Anyway, what I know about the nuances of wrestling is nil. The state of Iowa produces outstanding high school wrestlers. For example, the Iowa High School Championships will be completed by this evening.

Check this out:

Danarii Mickel of Ames high school is a freshman at the 3A level. This means he wrestles at a school with the highest enrollment and at 195 lbs just pulled off what should be considered the biggest upset that’s ever occurred right in the history of Iowa wrestling… He defeated senior and 2 time returning state champion, McCrae Hagarty of Waverly-Shell Rock in the semifinals and will battle with another freshman 195 lb'er, Dreshaun Ross of Fort Dodge in the finals…
This is literally unheard of… two freshmen in the finals vying to become a state wrestling champion.

Words That Haunt

Money-Money-Money

Our Nation Is A Mess

To me the proof the 2020 election was stolen is the state of the nation. Open your eyes. The consequences of a stolen election are all around us.

The supply chain is crippled. Highways, ports and infrastructure are crumbling. Blue states are banning trucks from the roads. Grocery prices are skyrocketing. Egg farms are burning to ground. Eggs cost $10 per dozen- if you can find them. Over 100 food plants have burned to the ground in the past year.

Trains are derailing. The East Palestine, Ohio train derailment may be the worst ecological disaster in U.S. history. Experts are calling it “our Chernobyl.” There is a mushroom cloud of deadly chemicals floating over the farm belt. Animals are dying. Fish are dead. People are sick. And it just happens to have poisoned hundreds of thousands of acres of prime Midwest farmland.

The same exact thing that’s happening to food and farmland, is happening to energy. Under Trump we had energy independence and cheap, plentiful energy. Under Biden we have soaring gas and electricity prices, energy shortages, depletion of our national fuel reserve. In the middle of this, our government is desperate to ban gas stoves.

Our border is wide open, with millions of illegal aliens pouring through. All of them will require cradle to grave welfare. Many of them are criminals. How many are terrorists? And through that border comes drugs. Fentanyl alone kills over 100,000 Americans per year. It sure seems like someone wants Americans dead.

Biden’s Covid vaccine mandates are causing “sudden death” and cardiac arrest by the thousands per day. Read the headlines. Death rates are the highest in history. More children and young athletes are dropping dead suddenly than ever before in our lifetimes. Yet blue states are now mandating Covid vaccines for your children to attend school. And our federal government is compiling a list of the unvaccinated. This won’t end well.

Chinese balloons are sent to intimidate us. Russian warplanes are buzzing our borders. Russia is threatening nuclear war. China is ready to invade Taiwan. $85 billion of military equipment was left in Afghanistan. The rest has been shipped off to Ukraine. Our military is in disarray, short on equipment, riddled with poor morale, unable to attract recruits.

Biden has based the economy on equity, social justice, diversity, LGBTQ and climate change. Result? Massive inflation is decimating the middle class. The national debt is exploding. So is the homeless population. So is violent crime and retail theft. Cities run by Democrats look like war zones filled with zombies.

The Black national anthem opens our Super Bowl, dividing our nation. Meanwhile there isn’t one black child able to do math at grade level in over 50 Chicago area schools. Insanity reigns.

Conservative voices are suspended, banned, silenced, or fired for our political beliefs. Free speech is being eradicated.

The FBI and DOJ are persecuting PTA parents, conservatives and Christians, while woke DA’s release violent criminals. Conservative TV stations like Newsmax and OAN are removed from our airwaves.

And whether its government, media, Hollywood, or schools- our entire society is now about LGBTQ and transgender ideology. It’s 24/7 brainwashing and propaganda.

Our President of the United States is clearly compromised, corrupted and owned by China. A Democrat U.S. Senator has checked into the hospital for depression. And the former Director of nuclear waste for the Energy Dept is a man, who dresses as a woman, now under indictment for stealing women’s luggage.

Our country is a freaking mess. A shell of its former self, in free fall. The people in charge could star in “One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.”

This is the purposeful destruction of America and the great American middle class- in only two short years since an illegitimate, corrupt, brain-dead President was placed into power.

The humiliating state of our nation is all the proof you need of a stolen election. The evil all around us is the proof. In only two short years, a stolen election has unleashed the gates of hell. This was all a plan…

We are going to need a new industry that simply spends its time fact-checking the so-called “fact-checkers.” That’s the story after a new landmark study published in The Lancet offered vindication to everyone who touted natural immunity to COVID-19 as an alternative to vaccination.

For years, the powers that be, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House, and the press, dismissed the idea of taking natural immunity into account when debating vaccine mandates and vaccine passports.

They were wrong, so much so that even the mainstream media are having to admit it. https://republicandaily.com/2023/02/read-study-vindicates-everyone-who-touted-natural-immunity-to-covid-19/

Syphilis Anyone?

A 1,000 percent increase in syphilis among newborns as reported by a Mississippi medical director concerns a Texas physician who was involved in the effort to get the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine data released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Because of what he’s read in that data, Dr. Richard Bartlett, a Texas physician of 30 years, told The Epoch Times that he questions whether the outbreak of syphilis and 2021’s surge of hepatitis are potentially related to evidence from a new study suggesting that “extended vaccination with [receptor binding domain] boosters overturned the protective immune memories by promoting adaptive immune tolerance.”

In other words, prolonged boosters could be harming the immune system. https://www.theepochtimes.com/texas-doctor-questions-whether-frankenstein-viruses-causing-spike-in-disease_5054358.html?utm_source=News&src_src=News&utm_campaign=breaking-2023-02-17-1&src_cmp=breaking-2023-02-17-1&utm_medium=email&est=5slhnuBjINlHqWC%2FEYPgmXsX8yb4gvjOoM%2F%2BrNKO4%2Fi0h6rPCc2%2F8oiCyV%2FRK5Q%3D

Remembering Rush

It was two years ago today that Rush Limbaugh died. He and I were best of friends beginning in October of 1989. Some of his best quotes:

”You know why there’s a Second Amendment? In case the government fails to follow the first one.”

“Let me tell you who we conservatives are: we love people. When we look out over the United States of America, when we are anywhere, when we see a group of people, such as this or anywhere, we see Americans. We see human beings. We don’t see groups. We don’t see victims.”

”Bigot: A person who wins an argument with a liberal.”

”Now, what is the left’s worldview in general? What is it? If you had to attach not a philosophy but an attitude to a leftist worldview, it’s one of pessimism and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they? They’re always angry about something. No matter what they get, they’re always angry.”

”Liberals measure compassion by how many people are given welfare. Conservatives measure compassion by how many people no longer need it.”

”Character matters; leadership descends from character.”

”I keep half my brain tied behind my back, as always, my friends, just to make things fair here.”

”Compassion is no substitute for justice.”

Did You Lynch Anyone Today?

Joe gave one of his fabulous anti-White speeches. He said there are people today who still want to lynch Blacks. Sorry, Joe, this subject is off my radar. https://twitter.com/i/status/1626381322976460800

After I read and saw the video I was reminded of a quote from Mark Twain. "If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything."

Finally, Some Good News

A Christian university’s weekly chapel service in Wilmore, Kentucky, has turned into an impromptu nonstop prayer meeting over the past week, drawing visitors from across the country, attracting millions of views on social media and fueling talk of a nationwide religious revival.

The Feb. 8 morning worship at Asbury University included a sermon by the Rev. Zach Meerkreebs, a campus minister, on “Becoming Love in Action.” After the message, students gathered to pray.

As of Thursday, they hadn’t stopped. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/feb/16/asbury-university-marathon-prayer-meeting-goes-vir/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialFlow&fbclid=IwAR17u-Rgogt8ElarIdkctjDqdk3BRClVkzyy5FP6OfkGX1T_OhejMoRkREc

Presidential Quotes

It's A Fact, Jack!

Money, Money Everywhere

The Biden family has perfected the art of getting rich. It was brought to my attention yesterday how this family is either the luckiest in the world or outright traitors.

The University of Pennsylvania Biden Institute has received from Communist China gifts of $62 million dollars. Sec. of State, Anthony Blinken ran the operation with a salary of one million dollars yearly.

It has now been divulged the University of Delaware Biden Institute also received gifts of large amounts of cash.

Since the Biden Institute was established in 2017 at the University of Delaware, it has been revealed that China, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Turkey have donated millions of dollars to the school.

Since the institute’s founding, the school has received $23,610,996 from Saudi Arabia, $6,704,250 from China, $2,513,646 from Oman, and $1,673,847 from Turkey, according to the Washington Free Beacon, which conducted a review of US Department of Education records.

This is a head scratcher for me. Wasn't there something called the Clinton Foundation that skated on the same rink?

You've Got To Be Kidding Me

This morning I decided I'd send a note to Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio asking why he hadn't declared East Palestine, Ohio a disaster area. Knowing he doesn't read these personal emails I began looking for the appropriate person or office.

Good God Almighty, it's no wonder our country is screwed up. I stopped scrolling state government workers on the third page. Can you only imagine the number of federal workers. We're screwed! https://www.gongwer-oh.com/public/133/govstaff.pdf

Knowing This Gov't I Believe It

Trust Me. It's Oklahoma

Not The Raquel I Knew

The whole world now knows Raquel Welch has died and if you didn't you do now. From a man's viewpoint she was quite the dandy. To be honest I never got the 'butterfly in the stomach' feeling when I looked at her but that's more my problem than yours.

Some guys fantasize about the glamorous babes. I don't. Why spend time dwelling on the unattainable? Going after the cute ones was more my style. It's why I'd rather look at Lacey Chabert and Her Majesty than, well, Raquel Welch. Besides, I'm willing to venture most of the photos online today of Ms. Welch look absolutely nothing like her present self.

As proof I present the 82 year old lady.

I rest my case.

"SHUT UP"

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) filed a report about Super Bowl LVII on Sunday that stated their supreme disappointment that there was a “minimal” amount of LGBT representation in the Super bowl commercials, as well as little to no mention of intersectionality during Fox’s broadcast of the game.

"Liar, Liar Pants On Fire"

Joe Biden stood up in front of the American people, numerous times, and said, "No one making less than $400,000 will see their taxes rise one penny."

The Biden administration is now pushing a plan to have all tips paid to service workers be taxable income. Ya' know that five dollars you leave on the motel pillow for house cleaning? It's supposed to be taxed. How about the two dollars you leave for Mary Sue at Bob Evans restaurant? Tax it.

There are very few service workers who have PhD placed after their names; names like Sally and Bubba.

I hate these people.

East Palestine Can Go 'F' Themselves

I've been to East Palenstine, Ohio. There isn't much there that would cause me to pick up and spend my declining retirement years roaming the town. I'll be honest. If Her Majesty and I relocated to E.P. we'd be one of the richest couples in the county. For years Youngstown, Ohio has been touted as Poverty City. Well, they don't hold a proverbial candle to the citizens of East Palestine.

Let me explain. What you're going to look at is a photo of the mayor of the town. People from snooty San Francisco and New York City would scoff  that the guy looks like a rube. I come from a small railroad community and I know the goodness of these folks.

The federal government is and has been spending millions of dollars on illegal immigrants from around the world and our government can't even do a study on E. Palestine.

I feel badly for these guys. They don't stand a chance because they don't donate big cash to political parties. These Americans are what early America was all about but because they're not wealthy then the government can tell them to go 'F' themselves.

Where's Joe Biden? Where's Pete Buttigieg? Joe hasn't offered one word of sympathy. Pete only talks about America's highways being racist and that there are too many white people working in the construction business. It's been two weeks since the mushroom cloud descended on the town. The head of the EPA said the people can go back into their homes. I wouldn't go. Why" Well, for one reason is the CEO of the railroad said he'd provide the town with one million dollars if the citizens signed an agreement. Yeah right. It's called a bribe to STFU!

If you don't believe E. Palestine is powerless check out their average incomes. I seriously doubt these people financially support any political candidates nor should they.

The median income for a household in the city was $35,738, and the median income for a family was $40,057. Males had a median income of $30,550 versus $17,237 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,243. About 5.5% of families and 10.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.0% of those under age 18 and 2.2% of those aged 65 or over.

I have a question. Why hasn't anyone from the CDC exhorted the people of East Palestine to wear masks?

I could go on and on but you get the drift. The government doesn't care about any of us unless there's something in it for them and the something I'm referring to is called $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Coping -------------------------Sort Of

It's been six days since I've written about our sweet little guy who was tragically killed. We're now at day 7 of his death and both the Queen and I are struggling with our emotions. Maybe it's God's plan for his creation to go through the mental anguish of losing a loved one, be it man or dog, to appreciate what we had in life. As for me, I haven't cried today but it's early. Yesterday my experience was a constant lump in my throat and walking around like a zombie in a mental fog. Around 5 pm I lost it and began sobbing uncontrollably. And so it goes.

Come 3:21 pm this afternoon it will be exactly one week since we lost our little guy. I know this time for a fact because we recently purchased a doorbell with a camera. At 3:22 it showed me carrying my buddy into the house from the front street. I cradled him in a blood stained towel. My wife looked at the video. I couldn't and never will. I don't need to. The entire scenario has been branded in my mind forever because I was there. I blame myself thinking what if I'd done this or done that. I know this is normal. Whenever Charlie and I were out front of our home and he was not on his leash I was constantly on the lookout for danger. It was like my head was on a swivel searching for a car that might be traversing down our one block long street. Last Wednesday my attention was diverted for ten lousy seconds and that was just enough time for him to be taken away.

In the past 7 days my wife and I have received over 70 messages of condolence. Two of our friends were kind enough to send us sympathy cards. This helps a great deal. A dear friend in North Carolina sent me a number of internet sites on grieving for lost pets. I'd known about this type of grieving but greatly appreciated our friend's concern. The methods of confronting death are interchangeable with those done for humans and the suggestions are based on a book written 50 years ago by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross titled: The Five States Of Death & Dying. Basically, we all go through  5 stages of grief until we get to the last one; the acceptance part and it is then we can begin to heal. I read a report three days ago that some pet owners grieve for up to a year. Good Lord, I'm praying I can move on before that time.

As Charlies' best friend I've experienced this loss in a couple of ways. At promptly 2 pm every day Charlie knew it was time for his treats. If I was somewhat slow in responding or forgot he would sidle up next to me and sit with his eyes trained directly on my person. If I was still slow in getting up he'd bark three times to let me know he was being cheated out of his fun. There have been a couple times in the past week I've absentmindedly gotten up out of my chair at 2 pm and then remembered he was gone..

There were times this past week I'd be lying on the my man cave couch and unconsciously reach down to stroke his head. I conjure up memories of his cuteness. When we walked in the woods on the trails he'd lag behind sniffing as much as possible then all of a sudden run up to my side and gaze at me. He was asking for a treat. If I held up open hands he knew I didn't have any and off we'd go.

Charlie slept in my bed at night. I've awakened a couple times this past week and reached over to stroke his forehead or to rub his ears. Reality bites doesn't it? Last night around 8 pm I thought I saw a shadow moving out of the corner of my eye thinking he was coming into the room.

I haven't mentioned Her Majesty much in my reflections. She is suffering as much as I. Last night, in bed, I asked her if she thought we would ever get another dog and she said, "Yes." But, that new friend will come to us, not us to it. We won't go to a rescue center and pick out friend. It'll come by word of mouth or some such other circumstance the same way we got Casey in 1992 and Charlie in 2019.

I've had Charlie's remains cremated. In the past I've considered how I would handle his passing. Little did I know it would come so quickly. I wanted to have him buried in a container in a cemetery. I'd thought about going into the woods where he loved to roam and explore and burying him there. Our Vet isn't in a cemetery network so the only other acceptable alternative was cremation.

I'm not the type to place his remains on a shelf with his picture in front of his container. We'll put them away somewhere. Actually, when I die I told Her Majesty to put his remains in my casket. It probably sounds silly but at this time it makes me feel better and since there is a Rainbow Bridge for our deceased friends it'll have been a good move.

Let's hope this is the last time I write on the subject of my best friend. Eventually, I'll reflect on the humorous and fun times we had together. As an example, we live in an area where deer abound. One day, a couple years ago, we came across two adult deer grazing. Since we were in the woods Charlie was off leash. I stopped and looked. Charlie looked, then barked and sprinted full bore toward the deer like he was going to take them down. I was impressed at his tenacity since he only weighed 20 lbs. I wonder what he was thinking. Is it possible the thought ran through his mind he could grab a hoof and drag it down to the ground? Lucky for those deer, though. They ran faster than he and escaped his wrath.

When my Pal first came into our lives he enjoyed playing tug o' war. He had a variety of ropes but a couple were his favorites. After a few years he tired of them but when guests came to the house, even those for the first time, he'd put a rope in his mouth and pestered these people to play with him. He was the consummate hosr.

One night awhile back I was downstairs lying on the couch and watching television. I was eating pretzels at the time. Anyway, it got to be bedtime so we went upstairs and got into bed. After five minutes he left the bed and ran downstairs. I called him but to no avail then went down to where he was. He had his snout stuck between the couch cushions picking out remnants of the pretzels I'd dropped.

Twice in his life while The Queen and I ran errands we came home to see he'd gotten into the garbage. It was strewn all around the kitchen floor. He had hidden in the living room when he heard us come into the hose. His chin was on the floor while he looked up sheepishly at us. He knew. We did nothing to him; didn't even give him a scolding. Dogs do what dogs do.

Charlie hated water and baths especially. One night The Queen said out loud, "Charlie, it's time for a bath." He immediately jumped up into my arms. When the wife came into my man cave calling his name he jumped and sprinted upstairs. I found him in my bed under the covers.

Charlie had different personalities depending on his mood or mine. We often went for car rides. He loved those. He'd be sitting in the front passenger seat then hop up and put his nose on the glass. I'd roll down the window so he could stick out his head. Then, after a few seconds, he'd jump over to my lap and want the driver window down and the routine would be repeated again and again and again. To say he was spoiled would be like saying Whoopi Goldberg is fat.

Thank you for reading. There are some of you who have experienced this trauma before and I sympathize with you. I so very much appreciate all of you who have offered your condolences.
