A Billion Dollars Is Nuthin'

I do believe, but could be wrong, that Sen. Everett Dirkson of Illinois who was in office in the 1960's(Illinois-Republican: doesn't make sense) stated: "A billion dollars here and a billion dollars there and pretty soon we're talking real money." In this age when trillions of dollars are on the table this seems like chicken feed.

In regard to the $1.9 trillion Covid Relief POS the Washington Post came out with this statement, "The President is about to shower the American people with money." They didn't mention it was our money and showering us, well, some of us with $1,400 is more than a joke. I've paid bigger bar tabs at one sitting.

There's a guy on one of those late night television shows, a liberal buffoon of course, by the name of Seth Meyers. You may find him funny. I don't. Meyers came out with this gem; "Joe Biden is about to wipe out child poverty in America." Say what? Our tax dollars have funded Lyndon Johnson's War On Poverty since the 60's to the tune of over $20 trillion dollars. So much for a lack of poverty. Take a stroll through any Democrat controlled inner city. Somebodies are feeding at the government trough and they aren't members of the neglected class.

Well, last night was one of those restless ones for me. Around 1 am I began thinking about a trillion dollars and exactly how much it is so here we go. If you took one trillion brand new and crisp George Washington's and stacked them one on one on top of each other they would rise to 67,866 miles. They would circle the circumference of the earth almost three times.

Here's what some of us receive for our $1,400 dollars and it isn't pretty. We all owe, every man, woman and child, to the federal government $17,600 dollars. Actually, I'm laughing because there's no way in hell it'll ever be paid off. The nabobs in D.C. will continue trying to tell us they're looking out for our better interests-----that they're fighting for us. The Covid Relief Law is a payoff to Red States that couldn't do the job of being competent. It's a payoff to non-Covid legislation to benefit friends and donors(A brief list of progressive pet projects also found in HR 1319 includes $570 million for 15 weeks of paid leave for federal workers, $270 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, $200 million for museum and library services, $91 million for “outreach” to student borrowers, $50 million for “environmental justice” grants). https://spectator.org/covid-stimulus-blue-state-rescue-plan/

Call me a pessimist but when the next election cycle rolls around there'll be people at the Dominion voting machines casting the D vote and could care less as long as they received that check that showered them with a largesse' of dynamic proportions and wiped out child poverty.

We get what we deserve.
