There are visionaries and then there are visionaries. Aldous Huxley and George Orwell might have been at the top of the list when it comes to viewing the future.
Huxley churned out the book, Brave New World completing it in 1932. It speaks of the future and what the world will look like. Orwell's Animal Farm is a description of socialism and how the animals succumb to survive.
Both are depictions of where we are heading if we already haven't arrived. In my high school English class we were required to read Animal Farm. This was in 1964. It didn't mean a whole lot to me then. I was more concerned it the Milwaukee Braves would win the pennant. I would have be Orwell's percfect subject.
