I dare say there aren't too many Americans alive today who can tell you about the D-Day invasion of June 6, 1944. It was the Omaha Beach landing of our forces against the Germans and it was brutal in the terms of loss of life. If a marine was 24 years old he was considered and old-time. There were thousands of teen-age boys who lost their lives that summer day.
I'm including a video given by actor Sam Elliot regarding the words of Ray Lambert whose thoughts about that day are heartfelt and a tearjerker. Lambert and his brother were severely wounded but survived.
