When I was born, January of 1946, the name of Michael was the most popular boys name. In growing up my normal calling was 'Mike' and it stayed that way until I reached my mid-twenties when I changed to for professional sounding of 'Michael'. For some reason it made me sound more seasoned; more academic, more worldly.
Well, according to the Washington Post the name of Mike is now racist.
Apparently in our quest to make EVERYTHING racist, the Washington Post has now dubbed Discovery channel’s popular “Shark Week” as racist for “lack of diversity” and featuring too many white men as experts. Especially white men named Mike.
Somebody tell this to Michael Jordan. I'm guessing he doesn't give a whit.
