Luciano Pavarotti's 11 Year Old Granddaughter Dazzles With Her Voice
I know very little about opera. I have heard of the Three Tenors but only because they were the focus of a Seinfeld episode. What I know about Luciano Pavarotti is he was an Italian(I think) and that my wife saw him with friends about the time he passed in 2007.
I listened to and watched a video of his granddaughter sing. It was angelic. Even if you're a dweeb about opera as am I you will appreciate this performance.

How To Stop A Conversation About Race
Let's say you're in a conversation with one who thinks there is massive racism in this country. Actually, it wouldn't be a conversation because from what I've seen the person in front of you would be in your face screaming.
If you asked the question, was there more racism in the 1950's or today what would they answer?
Ask them to supply this answer; Give me examples of systemic racism in your life. I doubt they'd come up with an answer. Better yet, I want one of those screaming racism to tell me one racist policy in this country. Couldn't do it could they?
I've recently become reacquainted with two former student/ athletes from the 1980's. One of these is now the manager of a Major League AA farm team. Both were great pals. They still are. One is white, the other is black.I enjoyed being around them immensely because they brought a special energy and enthusiasm to our squad.
The black man works in DeKalb, Illinois. He's successful in life. He married a white women and they have children. Yet, he made a post yesterday about racism. It said, "I come across racism every day".

We all know about the shootings in Chicago. That is a jungle unto itself. But what about Atlanta?
From May 31 through June 20 seventy-five people have been shot.
Last year during this same period there were eleven shot.
Guess what? None of these 75 were shot by the police.

Kansas State Football Players Plan Boycott
A student at Kansas State University put a post on Facebook reading, "Congratulations to George Floyd for being drug free for a month."
The entire football team wants the young man to be expelled from the school and promised not to partake in any sports related activities until this action occurs.
Think about how ridiculous our society has become. Don't tell anyone but I forwarded this same wording a couple of weeks ago. I'm waiting for St. Brigid's Catholic Church in Dublin to give me the heave ho. Would this same action have occurred had said student posted, "Congratulations to Robin Williams for being drug free for six years?" We both know the answer.
What do I believe will occur? A number of things and they all mean appeasement. This situation gives new meaning to the words of Neville Chamberlin.

I've never attended a Broadway play but as I recall there was a smash hit a number of years ago titled, 'Les Miserables'. Do you remember the lead song? It was 'Master of the House'. You can kiss that one good-bye.
I suspect Master Lock Co. will change their name. You remember them. They run a commercial showing a bullet being shot through one of their locks and it stays that way, locked. I don't know what their new name will be; maybe lock with a hole in it.

Why Don't Asians Protest
One doesn't hear much about Asians protesting their plight in this country. Oh, there are gangs but not the type we hear about from other groups.
Asians are actually very successful in life in this country. There's no magic wand they wave. The do exactly the same three things every other successful person and group does. (1) They do not have babies before they get married. (2) They graduate from high school and beyond. (3) They get a job and then marry and have babies. Isn't this the way it's supposed to work instead of the 'Ready, fire, aim' theory.

As one might suspect there's a movement to eliminate our national anthem. The most suggested replacement is John Lennon's song 'Imagine'. Yeah sure, a national anthem that hopes for no God. That'll work.
Anyway, if you've ever attended a National Hockey League game involving the US and a team from Canada you know that anthems from both countries are played. It's worked for many years with respect shown for both.
Blacks might start a movement on what they would desire for their anthem. It could be played before all sporting events. If I put my mind to it I'm sure I could come up with something acceptable but it's not my job because I'm privileged.
"Swing Low Sweet Chariot' has already been nixed. I'm not certain why. I doubt 'Mammy' would work since it was first sung by Al Jolsen in black face in a 1920's Hollywood film called the Jazz Singer.
Because it's one of those days I have little to do(except take Charlie to the groomer for the first time since the virus) I decided to research possible anthems for our black brethren. There's a problem. Most all of the 22 suggest freedom instead of hope and gratitude.

Adios To The Dixie Chicks
The singing group, The Dixie Chicks, came to fame, outside of singing, when they lambasted resident GW Bush after our entrance into the Iraq War. They announced that GW made then embarrassed to be from Texas(Dallas).
I knew that after the cancel culture took over we'd be hearing from them sooner rather than later. They've changed their name to 'The Chicks'. I find this laughable from the standpoint that 'chicks' is sexist.
I can hardly wait for these three bimbos to be lambasted for the name. In order to avoid further castigation they'd be smart(bad word for these folks) if they went by the name, 'The'.

BLM Should Boycott Nike For Slave Labor
Nike have 500,000 people employed in manufacturing their products. They outsource manufacturing to subcontractors throughout the globe. Most Nike products are produced in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
These factories are 100% owned by the subcontractors. So Nike doesn’t have any factories! Perhaps the reason for this is that they don’t want bad press over the poor working conditions that have been common place in the factories.
I have to say the number of factories globally is likely to be between 50 and 300, but it is difficult to tell, as they are all usually sole suppliers of Nike. Maybe you could/should consider the ethical side of the company before you make a purchase.

Ranked from highest to lowest, they are Nevada (25.3%), Hawaii (22.6%), Michigan (21.2%), California (16.3%), Rhode Island (16.3%), Massachusetts (16.3%), Delaware (15.8%), Illinois (15.2%), New Jersey (15.2%), and Washington state (15.1%). I call this the “blue state jobs depression.” The states with the lowest unemployment rates are all conservative red states: Nebraska (5.2%), Utah (8.5 %), Wyoming 8.8%, Arizona (8.9%), and Idaho (8.9%). It is hardly shocking news. Liberals are anti-business, and their policies are especially hostile to small businesses.

Nearly two-thirds of the money the Biden Cancer Initiative spent since its founding in 2017 went toward staff compensation and six-figure salaries for top executives. The group spent far less on efforts to eradicate cancer.
One of several nonprofits Joe Biden created following his tenure in the White House, the Biden Cancer Initiative paid top executives lavishly, with salaries comprising nearly 65 percent of its total expenditures. That is well above the 25 percent charity watchdogs recommend nonprofits spend on administrative overhead and fundraising costs combined.

As an entertainment journalist, I've had the opportunity to cover Trump for over a decade, and in all my years covering him I've never heard anything negative about the man until he announced he was running for president.
Instead, I found that he doesn't drink alcohol or do drugs, he's a hardworking businessman. On top of that, he's one of the most generous celebrities in the world with a heart filled with more gold than his $100 million New York penthouse.
Since the media has failed so miserably at reporting the truth about Trump, I decided to put together some of the acts of kindness he's committed over three decades which has gone virtually unnoticed or fallen on deaf ears.
In 1986, Trump prevented the foreclosure of Annabell Hill's family farm after her husband committed suicide. Trump personally phoned down to the auction to stop the sale of her home and offered the widow money. Trump decided to take action after he saw Hill's pleas for help in news reports.
In 1988, a commercial airline refused to fly Andrew Ten, a sick
Orthodox Jewish child with a rare illness, across the country to get medical care because he had to travel with an elaborate life-support system. His grief-stricken parents contacted Trump for help and he didn't hesitate to send his own plane to take the child from Los Angeles to New York so he could get his treatment.

In 2008, after Jennifer Hudson's family members were tragically murdered in Chicago, Trump put the Oscar-winning actress and her family up at his Windy City hotel for free. In addition to that, Trump's security took extra measures to ensure Hudson and her family members were safe during such a difficult time.
In 2013, New York bus driver Darnell Barton spotted a woman close to the edge of a bridge staring at the traffic below as he drove by. He stopped the bus, got out and put his arm around the woman and saved her life by convincing her to not jump. When Trump heard about this story, he sent the hero bus driver a check simply because he believed his good deed deserved to be rewarded.
In 2014, Trump gave $25,000 to Sgt. Andrew Tamoressi after he spent seven months in a Mexican jail for accidentally crossing the US-Mexico border. President Barack Obama couldn't even be bothered to make one phone call to assist with the United States Marine's release; however, Trump opened his pocketbook to help this serviceman get back on his feet.
In 2016, Melissa Consin Young attended a Trump rally and tearfully thanked Trump for changing her life. She said she proudly stood on stage with Trump as Miss Wisconsin USA in 2005. However, years later she found herself struggling with an incurable illness and during her darkest days, she explained that she received a handwritten letter from Trump telling her she's the bravest woman, I know. She said the opportunities that she got from Trump and his organizations ultimately

Lynne Patton, a black female executive for the Trump Organization, released a statement in 2016 defending her boss against accusations that he's a racist and a bigot. She tearfully revealed how she's struggled with substance abuse and addiction for years. Instead of kicking her to the curb, she said the Trump Organization and his entire family loyally stood by her through immensely difficult times.
Two decades ago, Oprah asked Trump in a TV interview if he'd ever run for president. He said: "If it got so bad, I would never want to rule it out totally because I really am tired of seeing what's happening with this country.'"
That day has come. Trump sees that America is in need and he wants to help. How unthinkable! On the other hand, have you ever heard of Hillary or Obama ever doing such things with their own resources?
