I must be a moron and not a politician because I do not understand our energy goals.
As of November of 2020 the United States was completely and totally engergy independent. We drilled our own. There was no need to import from other countries and the price of fuel was relatively cheap for the American customer as opposed to today.
Enter Joe Biden. His first executive order was to shut down the Keystone Pipeline thereby eliminating 50,000 jobs and in the process destroyed towns and families.
Thre months later Biden gave Russia the go ahead to build a pipeline to Germany. Wait! It gets worse.
Most people are familiar with OPEC. It stands for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. We used to buy the greater percentage of our fuel of these countries. Can you list them? Hmmm, let's see. We have Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Kuwait and Iran. Yes, that Iran. Later on these countries were joined by Indonesia, Libya, Nigeria(also the lithium mining capitol of the world). Angola, Algeria, Equatorial Guinea Qatar, and Congo. Except for Kuwait the others would detonate a nuclear weapon on this country if they could get away with it.
This week Joe Biden became somewhat nervous about our energy needs but he came up with a solution. He sent an envoy with a personal letter to ask OPEC to increase oil production.
