"Idoncare"

 Call it the sign of the times but I've become what is called apathetic. Recently, I've found myself answering Her Majesty in a most unseemly manner. Let's say your wife asks you, "Would you like steak, a baked potato and asparagus for dinner?" And without missing a beat you respond with, "Yes, dear. That would be very nice."

Well, because of the state of affairs these days I've noticed I would come back with, "I don't care." But, instead of even presenting it that way I'll say, "Idoncare" and there's no voice inflection as in, "I DON'T CARE." It's so much easier to slur the words and it takes a lot less effort.

Also, if I'm asked a question I'll respond with "Idunno." It's not very nice but "Idoncare."

I heard a story about a guy, oh shoot, I know I wrote about this recently, whose wife had a baby and asked him what he wanted to call their new son. He was inebriated at the time and answered her with "Idoncare". She thought he said Keir and that's why he's named that today. I fully realize this tale has nothing to do with apathy but, know what? "Idoncare."

There was a news story last night regarding Rachel 'Ricky' Maddow from MSNBC. She's their top celeb and is making, get this, $30 million a year. That's pretty good for not having as many viewers as live in Podunk Center, Iowa but, know what? "Doncare."

There's a positive to being 76 years old. I am clueless when it comes to an app called Spotify. I know a podcaster named Joe Rogan(salary $300 million) who is involved in being accused of providing misinformation about Covid. In other words, he doesn't follow the party line of alternative viewpoints. In order to make a statement about this misinformation two people, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, entertainers from the Sixties asked to have their music taken off Spotify. Whatever Spotify is told him to go pound sand. 

Here's my problem: In addition to being ignorant about this App I'm having a tough time remembering Young and Mitchell and if I was offered ten million dollars to name one song that came from their mouths, well, I'd have the same amount of cash as I had when the day began, So, people younger than I when asked about these two would be clueless. They might as well be asked to explain the theory of relativity.

I was at lunch with a friend today and a man in the booth behind us heard our conversation and on his way out stopped to talk. He was a career armed forces guy from South Carolina, performed un Norman Schwarzkopf and said he also knew Gen. Milley. He called him a fag. I think I've found a new friend.

Other than that all I have to say is, "Idoncare.? Know why? It's because Idunno."
