There was an auction of memorabilia in New York City that made me sit up say say, "What the hell is going on?"
I'm referring to a former major league baseball player by the name of Ty Cobb. He played in the 1930's and was one of the first five guys inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. For those who don't know he had a reputation for being somewhat of a 'prick' for his actions on the field. One of his favorite tricks was to sharpen his spikes so they were razor-like then when he went into a slide he tried to inflict as much damage to the human form as possible.
Well, in this particular auction a bid was placed on an item very important to Cobb; his dentures. And, the winning bid was $18,000.
Ya' can't make this stuff up.
