Speaking of expensive medications----Seven years ago The Queen and I vacationed in the Arizona desert. Prior to leaving for the area I used to walk a golf course carrying my clubs. When we arrived home in March I headed for the course. As I walked down the first fairway I felt dizzy then fell over in a heap. I was exhausted. My lungs were working overtime. I pulled out my cell phone and called the clubhouse to come get me. Naturally, I went to a doctor and he diagnosed me as having COPD. Who was I to argue? He graduated medical school and I barely graduated college. He was a medical expert. I was a Physical Education Major. The long of it is my doctor misdiagnosed my condition. I had contracted a desert lung infection and for six years inhaled BREO every day at a cost of $30 per month. At the beginning of my sixth year on the inhaler my pharmacist told me the inhaler had jumped to $100 a month. So, I decided to use the lung mist every other day. At the end of three months my pharmacist informed me the product I was inhaling had jumped to $600 a month. I decided to permanently forego using it. I told him, the pharmacist, I'd rather put a down payment on a casket rather than give the pharmaceutical industry more of my money. As it turned out I did not have COPD. I wasted money on a misdiagnosis. Luckily, for me, I wouldn't have known this if the inhaler had not skyrocketed in price--------making pharmacy drug CEO's richer than Anthony Fauci.
