It's About Time We Stopped The Racism Nonsense

Let me introduce two Americans to you; James Robertson, 56, and Evan Leedy. The latter is a 19 year old university student at Wayne State in Detroit.

Robertson, a Black man, lives in Detroit but works in a factory in Rochester Hills. He walks to work every day, winter and summer, through rain, snow, sleet and sun and has never missed a days work in the last ten years.

The Detroit Free Press heard his story, that he takes a bus part way, then walks the rest, a total of 21 miles. Did I mention he does this five days a week?

A banker in Detroit recently saw him trudging through snow and offered him a lift. This continued for awhile until the man contacted the newspaper. Enter Leedy who read the story and decided to become a humanitarian for Mr. Robertson. Via the internet he set up a fund called Go Fund Me in an attempt to raise $5,000 to help Robertson purchase a vehicle. Leedy did better than that. In two days the fund has raised over $220,000 for the cause.

It gets better. Two car dealers in Detroit have offered, free, a Chevrolet and a Honda Accord.

Now, I don't know for certain but it is my fervent belief that the bulk of these donations came from White folk. The ones Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton blame for the ills of this nation.

These are the stories that should be on the front pages of major newspapers instead of "Hands Up Don't Shoot".

Bless all responsible for this feel good action. Racism isn't what some want us to believe. Did you hear that White House and Department of Justice?
