Franklin County Ohio is my county. It encompasses the City of Columbus and a few outlying suburbs. A block north of our home in Dublin is Delaware County so to say Franklin County is Columbus, Ohio would not be a lie. It seems opioid deaths are a distant memory but not to me. I took this information from the newspaper nobody depends on, The Columbus Dispatch.
'The number of people who fatally overdosed in Franklin County during the first half of 2020 increased 75% from the year before, according to data from the Franklin County Coroner. The preliminary data surrounding overdose deaths that occurred between Jan. 1 and June 30 was released Wednesday by Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz. The data showed 437 people died after fatally overdosing on drugs, up 73.4% from the 252 deaths in the first six months of 2019. Most of the overdoses involved people ages 25 to 34.'
