Twinkies Do NOT Last Forever

 I'd always heard that Twinkies would last forever when kept in the original wrapper. The ones pictured were in a Scott Purrington's basement since 2012 when he was hungry for something sweet and remembered he'd put them in the basement for the same reason some people save old baseball cards. The result wasn't good.

Purrington sent the Twinkies to the bacterial department at the Univ. of West Virgina to be studies for fungi or fungus or whatever these people do. They stated when they opened the mummified Twinkie the smell almost knocked them out.
