Our neighbors are extremely nice people. Their condo is attached to ours and over the course of time we'll share conversation and dinner on our back patios. The husband was a superintendent of schools in Ohio and his wife is quite lovely and a college graduate.. Both are in their late 50's and fun to be around.
Today I heard their dogs barking out on the front portion of their yard. They own two yappers and intitially when they first moved in Charlie got nervous around them but not now. So I took him over for some playtime. As I stood on the sidewalk the wife came out of the house and we chatted and then she kindly asked me to come for dinner on Tuesday. I appreciate this since The Queen's out of town and I like cooking much as I do 24 hour diarrhea.
I wanted to make sure I was free that night so I asked the date. Then I counted forward and said, "Oh, it's the 7th. Yes, I'll be there". And she said, "It should be easy to remember. It's Pearl Harbor Day.
And I didn't say a word to her except "Thank you and I'll be there." I think I burned off some time in Purgatory.
